I like to see is that done right.
Tam here are a few pics of what they use now. They use a shaft driven from the servo directly into the elevator. This will put an insane load onto the servo topcase and bearing. Its a total joke and will cause the servo to wear out very fast. To make matters worse the servo gets installed from the backside pushing it even further from the flight control it self putting an even greater load onto it.
ORIGINAL: RCFlyerDan Guess that is why my 1/8 F-18 can do close to 200 mph, and you have seen it fly! Also why I own CARF or BVM jets. Carbon Fiber sure couldn't hurt, and better then doing nothing at all and flying a bad design. All they are doing is reducing the resale value of their own planes.
Yep your F18 is a rocket ship! That is the difference between a correctly made stab :) and a poorly made fly eagle stab.

Dan some Carbon Fiber cant fix a bad design with a bad pivot point. That kind of flutter will break anything. Its much more then strength involved here. Funny part is the newer ones they are making with that direct drive crap is even worse. Flyeagle cant keep a small 1/8 scale plane from exploding in flight let alone a 70 pound aircraft.

Poor Luke :( Sorry for your loss. I have said from the start their is no way they built this airframe up and flew it 20 or so times hard and worked out all the bugs before selling it. Again we are the beta testers. They really need to just pick a few of their smaller airframes and make them right before going into these big birds.

RE: How to get a refund from Fly Eagle Jets?
Those lights on the tail are anti collision lights and are both red. Also they have formation lights molded into the inner part of the verticals and no lights go their. For the markings they installed the AA on the tails on the wrong sides so they are angled the wrong direction. They looks very bad. Also the formation light is way to thick on the tail. But I guess they only go for cartoon scale........ To their credit all the Chinese manufactures do this to a point. Why not spend a little more time and do it right. I mean its only good for a static model anyway if you fly it per their picture book instructions so might as well make it look better.

At the very least find a fellow Jet modeler in your area and let them guide you some. You need help in person from someone that flies jets. If you do not it WILL crash.

A few porter potties for ladies only might be a good thing. By late Friday into Saturday it was tough for even us men to go lol. The mud pit in front of them didn't help. But I did notice allot of people bring their wives and they should get a ladies only porter pottie.

RE: How to get a refund from Fly Eagle Jets?
If you get the yellow F18 you will have a rock solid plane that will last you many years..... Get the flyeagle and it will look pretty but doubt it will last very long. Also the yellow is VERY scale and can go into scale contest and be static judged. The flyeagle well.... not so much lol I will say this the big flyeagle F18 is very impressive in person to see but I would rather have a scale plane that flies great and will last a long time.

RE: Yellow F22 Build
Shaun I agree yellow pipes are fine with no thrust vectoring though. I do not believe the thrust vectoring pipe is fine. I am fairly certain I can burn another one up in 50 or so flights if I had another one. And the first one I burnt up with a 120 size engine now I have a 170. But it does not matter since yellow does not make the pipe anymore anyway. Its just my opinion and nothing more. Mine is almost back together aside from the elevator servos. Waiting on the new gear sets for the 8711s. Cant wait for Kentucky jets this year!

RE: Yellow F22 Build
ORIGINAL: Dieselman1220 I wish it was a vectoring pipe, then I'd take it. I'm having to much fun with the thrust vectoring now
Agreed Joe! Plane is not worth having IMO without the vectoring. Its a must have on this plane for sure. If something happened to my vectoring I would get Tams vectoring and incorporate that into making the nozzles move like the yellow does. If anyone is on the fence about getting the vectoring just get it. It helps so much at slow speeds with control and getting off on short runways alone is worth it. People are scared of it for some reason but when set up right all it does is help it fly better. I have even been thinking about re trimming knife edge flight with it on and then just leaving it on all the time. The only time I really don't have it on now is for long slow rolls and 4 point rolls. It lands better and takes off better with it on even though the yellow manual for it says to never use it for takeoff and landing.

RE: Yellow F22 Build
Good luck with the sell Dave. Thats a very good price with the engine! I got to test out the new Tams Pipe! Worked great. Only problem I had was the plane was sticking to the runway. Checked the CG and it was to far fwd. The new lighter pipe combined with the small 8oz fuel tank just fwd of the main tanks shifted the CG to far fwd. It still flew great and got 6 flights on it back to back. Cant say enough good things about the plane! One thing also to note. The Tams pipe was smaller in Dia so installing it was very easy. It can be installed with the bellmouth already on. This makes dealing with the thrust vectoring a breeze. But this pipe probably would not work for engines bigger then a 120 size. Not sure what you guys with the bigger engines should do when your pipe needs to be replaced. I am sure Tam can figure something out.

I had some side work to do on a Piper Seneca this week that was going to pay for my gas to Superjets south... Well it never showed up and I just got word it had a hard landing in Texas and pushed the nose gear up into the windsheilds.. So no Superjets for me this year :( Was really looking forward to it. I will still try and see if I can find someone on the west coast of Florida that will car pull but it does not look good right now.

RE: Yellow F22 Build
Got my new Pipe from Tam today! All I can say is WOW money well spent. The old Pipe had many flaws. For one it had a sharp edge inside at the split.(thats where it cracked) Another problem was the thrust vectoring fit over the inside pipe so the double wall was cut short and did not get air from the main pipe to suck out cooling air through the double wall. Tam made the entire pipe with smooth bends and made the pipe a little smaller so that the double wall can sit inside the thrust vectoring. He also made the double wall thicker at the back where it sits inside the nozzels. Very well done. Cant wait to get her out flying now! I also added a small 8oz center tank to help with the flame outs. I guess I am just thorwing the plane around to much :) Moved the UAT tank to the bottom of the fuselage also so its lower then the main tanks. First pic is the crappy yellow pipe. 2nd pic is the rear of the new Tam pipe.
