RE: Anyone Hookah?
Ive only used them for the social aspect. I like the taste; don't like the nature of the taste. Its the kind of taste you can only "get a taste of" and goes away right away. Like cinnamon. You cant suck on something and just taste cinnamon. It flees. Or I'm weird (Canadian).

RE: best bang for you buck brushed motor on the market.
I'm not an elitest or think I am from the old school. I haven't been in the hobby that long. I was merely pointing out that brushed can do the job. And ranting about the lack of people working on their car and doing something in the hobby other than driving. You have to admit the quality of threads goes gradually downhill as time goes on and knowledge of how to do things is forgotten and not replaced. I have just as much fun working on my cars as I do driving. I wish more people shared my interests like they used to.

RE: best bang for you buck brushed motor on the market.
No turn limit on the ESC? The lowest you really want to go in a Pede offroad is 14t, and even then you are short on gearing and high on maintenance. I'd go for a nice 17t Reedy Radon or Quad Mag. A Speedgems Pro Titanite 15tx2 if you can get your hands on one. LRP GT3's are nice too, I run 2 of their 17t's in my old school 4x4 Pede and it hauls. Ceramic capacitors are your friend

With enough power and tire tread you can drive right over water. So you should probably buy paddle tires just in case it ever happens again.

[quote]ORIGINAL: Foxy Humans are the only animal on the planet with the ability to knowingly commit suicide. [/quote] Scorpions will stab themselves if you inflict enough pain on them (give them a good reason to?) or surround them with fire. Youtube it. Whales beach themselves. Tarsier monkeys have been know to get injured due to their own actions in captivity. Whether or not they know that action will kill them (the definition of suicide) is debatable. I think these animals know. I don't think bees and other insects/arachnids know they are going to die if they mate/use their stinger. We can debate it all day long but noone really knows how an animal feels. [quote]ORIGINAL: ThunderbirdJunkie Humans are conditioned to breathe air. A newborn baby can breathe underwater. This has been proven. [/quote] A newborn baby can not breathe underwater. A newborn baby will not breathe until it is lifted from water and while underwater can continue to get its oxygen supply from the umbilical cord.

RE: Official Rustler Thread
The BEC's will interfere with each other and one will short out. Probably the BEC in your ESC. Solution: Carefully use a small screw driver to pry the red wire out of the 3 wire receiver lead and tape it back. This basically disables the ESC BEC. If you want to use it in another vehicle or get rid of the UBEC, just plug the wire back into the plug. I'm not familiar with your LED controllers so I wont judge them.

CC is still at the top of the game. The new Mamba Max Pro is rated for 6s whereas your old MM is rated for 3s. The Neu motors are nice.

RE: ***Official*** 1/18 Scale HIGH SPEED Thread!!!
Airplane ESC's have no brakes or reverse and are typically rated for far less amps than car controllers. You [i]could[/i] use one in a car. I would read the specs on car ESCs and use their amp ratings if shopping for one.

RE: pulley mounted on rc motor
Yes, a pulley can be mounted on an rc motor. You would have to use a driver/driven pulley, not an idler pulley. Simply slip the pulley onto the motor shaft and tighten the setscrew. You can purchase a pulley from many industrial suppliers such as [link=http://www.mcmaster.com/]McMaster-Carr[/link] and [link=http://www.sdp-si.com/]SDP-SI[/link], as well as various other sources such as [link=http://www.smallparts.com/]Small Parts[/link] or [link=http://www.ebay.com]Ebay[/link]. Any supplier specializing in robotics or small scale power transmission may also have what you are looking for. If you have access to the proper tools you can also quite easily make your own. The standard 540/550 can size motors used in the majority of 1/10th scale electric RC cars have a 1/8 inch or 3.175 millimeter shaft diameter.

Spelling/Grammar
I would like to recommend some kind of spelling/grammar control be put into effect. Obviously it couldn't be enforced as a set rule and would have to be enforced "to the spirit" of the rule. I'm not concerned about spelling mistakes, misuse or nonuse of commas, lack of capitalization, etc. I know no one has perfect grammar. Perhaps instead of a rule Moderators could just PM the odd persons if they see repeat action. I'm just sick of seeing posts like "& also, sinse da OP likes da baja sc, da ovious choise 4 him wood b dis.... http://www.redcatracing.com/RC-Cars/1-5-Scale/Rampage-XSC-GAS & its bettr den da baja sc in 1 very important way. 4wd."

RE: acceptable battery voltage
The MMM can handle 6s, so twin 3s. Switching from 14 cell ni-mh to 4 cell Lipo would not have much of a performance increase or decrease. A bit more punch and runtime but no more (maybe a little less) speed. If you have other electrics you may considering running a 2s and a 3s pack. This way you have 5s performance and the choice of 2s or 3s for your other electrics. [quote]ORIGINAL: zman5000 there are some noobs that read these posts and it's better to not confuse them. RE: New or Used
First time; always buy new. When the gear mesh isn't perfect you will probably be asking how to fix it. Then where to buy new steering links, etc. Its ok and its a learning process. Buy used and you will have 17 random problems and no experience.

There's no debate that a Tahoe or Suburban will not get you much further down a trail than your average awd crossover. You can barely clear a curb with them.
