ORIGINAL: elmshoot The shipping kicked my Asxx $85 for 200 miles some how they have the pricing for shipment all wrong I intend to pursue it further. Sparky
I have another one coming also. Shipping was $85 to CT. That is about what I figured, UPS isn't cheap. Now $80, 200 miles away, can't figure that one out. [X(]

New price $422.85, I haven't even built the first one yet. [:)] But at that price I might just buy another one for parts. Really gets you wondering if they are trying to liquidate for the plane to be discontinued.

Aframe it is designed to be a 2 piece wing, much easier to transport, a necessity with my car (HHR) Did you ever check out the link I sent you? Another plus with the DLE 30 I had mounted was that everything fit inside the cowl without a lot of cutting. I like to preserve the cowl lines on all my planes and only open them enough for cooling.

RE: BH Ryan Special 92
Aframe I moved the firewall just so I could use the stock standoffs that came with the DLE 30. If the DLE 35 is the same mounting dimensions it should be a perfect fit.[:D] You will notice the firewall angle was altered just to align the cowl/spinner orientation. Keep me up to date on your progress, she is a beautiful plane.

Hi Aframe Happy to see you found this thread. I was going to use the Robarts myself, but I wasn't sure hoe much wood was in the trailing/leading edge of the surfaces. I'd rather use hinge points on a gas engine anyway.

RE: Shoestring by Seagull
Chris, Thank you for the link to the pics. I wonder why Seagull chose to do the Circus Circus scheme but didn't square off the flying surfaces to keep the plane somewhat scale? My kit will be here Wednesday so I can post some pics and my thoughts about it then.

Chris, I didn't even see the difference in the tail feathers until you pointed it out. I still like the rounded version better vs the squared off tail, even though it's not scale to the paint scheme. I'll have to do a search for the blue/orange scheme. Any how I have this one ordered, it should be here in a few days, I'll post some pics and my opinion of it. Paul

RE: Top Flite Giant Corsair ARF Disappeared.
Tailwheel uses a standard retract servo to operate. This also allows it to retract at a scale speed. I'm sure you could also install an air cylinder for operation. I'm not sure where it would be mounted in the Corsair ARF as I haven't really looked into building the kit.

RE: Top Flite Giant Corsair ARF Disappeared.
It will be awhile before I get to assembling mine. The retract he sent me installs without any mods to the existing formers in the ARF I was told. The retract is powered by a retract servo for actuation, another servo is used to lower and raise the tailhook. I wish I had seen the tailwheel sooner also, as I had already bought the robart tailwheel along with the main gear when I bought the plane.

I bought the retractable tailwheel from Earl Aune. It looks really nice and should raise the tail to look more scale than the Robart retractable tailwheel. I'm not sure how robust the Earl Aune unit will be,only time will tell, but it does look sweeeett. [:D]
