RE: Rickey Carmichael
ORIGINAL: DirtyBird69 The first thing you absolutely must do is to swap out the rear shock for one of a Traxxas Revo(you can get em CHEAP on Ebay), next thing to do is swap out the tamiya style connector for a ''DEANS'' style...you would not believe the improvement you get all-around just by swapping out that dam little thing(Ricky is pretty heavy and draws a ton of juice on take-off )and that dam Tamiya connector is nothing but a dam resistor that bottle-necks your juice, and can melt if your not careful. The third thing you can do is swap the stock 550 motor for a 17-19(Double) motor/w a 13t (steel) 32p pinion that will give you a nice little boost in performance without frying your gyro or the factory radio gear out. And last you can build(or have built an 8.4v/3800mah or bigger battery pack) which will really make him scoot!...anything faster (like brushless motors,9.6v packs, etc) are just to dam fast and they fry out the gyro gears in the rear wheel....make sure you buy and old used ricky, you can still get used bikes cheap, so just buy one and strip it so it has to be used for parts lol....that'll do it.. p.s. forgot to mention to swap out all the bushings in both wheels and steering blocks, for bearings(makes a WORLD of difference)!                                        sizes you'll need: 6x13x5mm                                                        5x10x4mm just go to Ebay and buy a pack of ten for each size...cost you like $20 and you still have some extras for spares..
Thanks for the reply, just what i needed! The thing with ebay is they don't like too ship to Canada. [8|]

RE: Skidoo Rev XP snowmobile hop-up
Thanks Joe for the reply, just did the track tension mod and noticed a bunch of hair line cracks in the track. Have you notice any cracks on yours? Hopefully i can just glue them before they get worse. I'm having a hard time with the gearbox trying to find a stronger trans that will fit, maybe a crawler trans? I think the best set up would be two pulleys and a belt like something out of a touring car. Harry[8D]

RE: Skidoo Rev XP snowmobile hop-up
Hi Joe, just purchased one of these "slowmobile" it was used for 10min. for 30$ not bad i think? She's all stripped but having hard time taking the motor pinion off. I noticed your stock motor still has the pinion on, how did you get it off the transmission? Also how much run time do you have on this thing and is the stock transmission still holding up? I Might have more ?'s later hopefully you don't mind helping out. thanks Harry Edit again, guess no ones home? anyway i ended up cutting the motor shaft to get it off the trans. Still need to find out if the trans. has held up to the punishment. Also is that a micro servo?

RE: Other rc that you do...
I've been addicted to RC's since i can remember, but i can't remember them all lol. Here's a few i've had over the years... My custom 4x4 crawler lots of time building and even more driving the crap out of it. one of my favorites for sure. My comp crawler in an action shot at a comp: same truck new shell: lots of time and $ on this one. My tamiya CR-1 this was the first run with lots of work and details left too do: never really was into this truck and sold it shortly after buying it. Vintage bolink dragster: My Tc5 MM 7700 on 3s crazyy fast: i traded my Cen genesis for this car, she's now set up for drifting. My slash vxl on 3s: no longer with me and was sold. Well there was many more but that's it for pics, and funds as now the kids and mortgage take all the $ lol [8D]

I found a way to get half decent range by adding 10 feet of coiled wire in the tank and also in the transmitter.(20 feet of extra wire!) I wonder if anyone has ever had to add wire to a transmitter??[&:]
ORIGINAL: cheap tank Still trying to get the sherman working rite i tried bypasing the resistor it was no help. I ran it alot yesterday and now it starts and stops all the time i am at a loss. I think i will use a henglong rx14 as the mato electronics only seem to be good for a static model. Not bitching mutch other than crappy guts it is a great model.
I had that same problem, its a heat issue. Looking at your pic your fan is too far away from the resistors. Yeah, its a great model [sm=52_52.gif] but for the price the consumer is better off with a Heng Long with metal gears&tracks!! And now the gear boxes need to be replaced[sm=confused_smile.gif], was not happy to hear that! For the die hard sherman guys great tank. But for the guy that just wants a working sherman don't bother. Well that's my take on the Mato lemon i mean sherman....

Well, just going to mention i finally fixed the hesitation. The tank now can run for as long as i want without hesitation.[:D] This was a heat issue, and was resolved by moving the board to the back of the tank and adding a fan. Now i need to get the range issue fixed as i only get 15-18 feet.[sm=confused.gif]

RE: Mato sherman (cooked board?)
ORIGINAL: YHR That is too bad. I have yet to have one behave like that. This board I sent you worked perfectly, before I yanked it out. Maybe the hesitation is a bit of a range problem???? Sometimes the wires to the motors are in close promiity of each other. Perhaps you have a temporary short across the motor leads???? IF you have a heng long radio, all you need to do is buy and RX 14(Sherman sounds)and reciever. For $22.00 you can have this running like a Heng Long.
I'm almost positive its not the board, as i stated in previous post that the tank runs fine with the top hull and turret removed. The tank does have bad range at only 18' but that's not the issue. Where do you recommend the cheapest place to buy parts is? "Mato"... thx
ORIGINAL: YHR Maybe you got some wires shorting out somewhere. You may have to trace all the wires and inspect them for damage. Remove the tape so you can see each and every one. RE: Mato sherman (cooked board?)
Well, YHR was nice enough to send me a replacement board to fix my tank. Now i'm pulling my hair trying too trouble shoot my problem. The tank now has a pulse (hesitating on and off) after about 10 min. of run time. I've tried a few things like running the tank with the bottom hull only and the tank does not have the pulse? So i checked all my connection and all is good. I also removed the on/off switch, still not the problem. Man this is so frustrating[sm=confused_smile.gif] I was thinking it was a heat issue but then the tank should have the same problem when i run it without the top hull? I say this because the transistor that failed in the first place get so hot that you can not hold your finger on them for more then a couple seconds. I did try and mount a fan, but with the battery box there's no room. If anyone has a clue as to what might be the problem please let me know thanks.

RE: Dissapointed and confused by Matomart
I have only had one purchase from them, and it will be my last!! I purchased the new 1/16 sherman and it arrived with a broken hatch. I emailed them and they said that they would fix it, and start a claim with UPS? I sent them a pic of the broken hatch, they ask if i could take pic of the box it was shipped in? So i did, then a get an email saying to send the tank back. To me that is crazy, pay shipping twice for the same tank? I'm not the one who screwed up, they are. It was most definitely not UPS's fault! Plain and simple they shipped it out damaged. All could of been resolved by shipping me a new top hull. My outlook on this is their bad business. NEVER AGAIN! my 2 cents
