RE: Official HPI Savage Flux XS thread...
ORIGINAL: rc theman I've replaced them multiple times, and they all did the same thing. I think I'm going to buy The Toyz driveshaft setup for the XS and see if I can get rid of this dogbone setup
Did you replace the hpi ones or with aftermarket ones or hpi? Cause you may want to try the hr ones instead.

Yes the mamba max does do 6s but not the 1410 3800.

RE: Official HPI Savage Flux XS thread...
Yes I ran the stock motor for a couple of months and then switched to the 1410 3800. They are 2 completely different motors the stocker ran hot all the time on stock gearing and the 3800 runs cool geared up. The highest temps I have had are 150 on the motor where as the stock motor was always in the 170 range. But yes a lower kv motor will always run cooler but I like speed and efficiency and the 3800 gives me that.

RE: Official HPI Savage Flux XS thread...
It's a 540 sized 36mm motor I would stay in the 3500-4000kv range 2800 would be pretty slow for me anyways. I have been running the castle 1410 3800 with a 32t pinion in mine for about 6 months and it's fast as hell with tones of torque.

RE: Official HPI Savage Flux XS thread...
Been running my xs since sept when they first came out, I ran about 20 packs through the stock esc but I was aware of the issues so i swapped it out for a mamba max not the pro version added my own fan and I have about 40 packs on that one never gets over 120 even on 3s. Kept the stock motor for about 30 packs then put in a 1410 3800 runs much cooler then stock never over 160 and I am running a 32t pinion on the 1410. Oh and I should say I bought both the mamba max and the 3800 used on rc tech. I think the newer castle esc's seem to be failing more then the older ones.

RE: Official HPI Savage Flux XS thread...
I don't know about that it's an sv2 with a case and fan on it and people are having issues with the sv2 on anything other then 2wd. Seems like the same issues on the same esc but the firmware could be different on both and firmware does play a big role in the functionality of the esc.

Exactly and also we all know that hpi didn't make the vapor pro esc castle did so who is really to blame.

I know they make 1/10 scale I just don't think they are 4 pole, the only 4 pole that I know they make is 1/8 scale. It doesn't say 4 pole anywhere that I can see but maybe I am wrong.

That's when you switch to red loctite never had a problem after the first day. I used the red just to be sure and it worked for me anyways. Getting the pinion off is a whole different story lol.

Get the castle 1410 3800 runs cool even geared up on 3s and it is 4 pole.
You can replace them with hot racing hardened cups I have been running those for about 25 packs and no wear on them at all. You can get them at liquidrc.
ORIGINAL: fastgreen350 How does their warrenty stuff work, its cheap and I have heard good things, but I heard good things about castle too and here I am still with SV2 that I havent even used.  Just would be nice to put one in the xs that is going to last more than two runs before it muffs up.
I can't really say how good they are on waranty I have never had to return one. I am running a mamba max in my xs right now and it's very good runs cool I grabbed it used for $40 waterproofed it and put a fan on it. It really all depends you can get a bad esc from any company my stock vapor pro esc is still working.
ORIGINAL: fastgreen350 Called Hpi today and now instead of telling me weeks ago that the qbase esc isnt in stock, they tell me it will be april until the qbase is in stock.  So I told them to send me another vapor pro.  I want to sell it new once I get it but, I am unsure of what esc to get to replace it.  I know I dont want Castle I have been waiting forever for them to warrenty my sv2 that was defective out of the box.  But I have had some good luck with LRP in my MERV and thought I would like to try to find a LRP esc that would work in my XS.  Can anyone help me out a bit with trying to find the right esc for the xs  not too sure what I need to be looking for to be honest, need someone that has some wisdom in this area lol.
If you don't want castle I would go with hobbywing excellent esc's although the mamba max pro is a good choice. Here is a link to a hobbywing that would be good in the xs. I run this one on 4s in 1/8 scale buggy and it runs cool and smooth. http://www.hobbypartz.com/07e-c-xerun-80a-sd.html Or if you want to go even cheaper but still good http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/%5F%5F17234%5F%5FHobby%5FKing%5F80A%5FSensored%5FSensorless%5FCar%5FESC%5F1%5F8%5F1%5F5%5F.html

RE: Official HPI Savage Flux XS thread...
When you file a claim with PayPal it's a 2 step process first you file the complaint then the seller has a chance to try and work it out with you. If you are still not happy you can then escalate it to a claim where PayPal will determine if you get a refund or not.

RE: Official HPI Savage Flux XS thread...
The seller needs to contact USPS and file a complaint and they will try to track down the package you as the reciver of the package can't really do to much. I would file a eBay and PayPal (if that's how you paid) claim against the seller just to protect yourself no need to escalate the claim unless you don't get your truck or money back.
