RE: Sig Deweybird Flight tips.
1. Practice spinning round and round to your left until you can do so without getting dizzy. 2. After takeoff, make sure the plane touches nothing but air. 3. Keep the plane away from dirt and grass until the engine quits and it is time to land. HTH
ORIGINAL: ahamay Well it's finally the weekend and I managed about 25 flights the past week on the tarot...the weather has been the best the past week for as long as I can remember and the weekend will be the same..hopefully some more flying to be done. Here's a vid from yesterday. After watching some of Rob's videos he inspired my to go inverted on the Tarot as I've only done it on the gt as to not ''risk it'' on the tarot. Also just for giggles, this other vid I found yesterday and it's the funniest thing I've seen all week. I had three successful launch and R/C glides on this CP-1. The last one the motor block slid forward and the plane didn't leave the pad. You can see the hole it burned in one of the photos in a previous post. Thanks to Jim S. for snapping this photo. The first flight was when everyone had left for the night.

They are too weak where the blade meets the hub. Would I do it again? Yes, I was out at the field and it was my only option for a prop and a flight.

RE: Dakota Bipe.
I still have the one I flew at the Maumelle SMALL in 2000. Joe signed the top left wing, but the marker has faded and you can barely make it out. It flew off the field across the four lane and into a development that had some new construction. I was afraid it had landed on a house, but I found it at the edge of a golf green. I need to put an engine in it and bring it to SMALL again this year since there is a really nice free flight area at the FARM Club field

RE: Scalpel Build
ORIGINAL: Tee Bee I'm working 12hr graveyard shifts right now so the build has slowed. I have been able to get a little covering done here and there. Wing, ailerons, and tail bits are covered with their base colors. I won't go into an explanation of how to cover a model since that's well documented on RCU already. The fuselage construction is on hold until I get my new servos. I don't want to apply the top and bottom sheeting until all the guts are fitted and checked for bind-free clearance. For covering, I decided that I must choose a scheme that would allow a durable coating on the bottom of the fuselage for belly landings, low heat application in order not to melt the foam wing, and use of materials already at hand. Trying to keep the spending in check. I layed out all the partial rolls of covering film I had and came up with a plan that involves using Monokote on the wood fuse and tail and Coverite Microlite on the foam wing. The Microlite went on at low heat without risk of melting the foam. It's not designed for use with glow fuel but I have been using it on Cox .010 and .020 models for over 4 years with good results. You just have to clean the fuel residue off good when flying is complete. The Monokote may add a bit of extra weight to the model but it fit the requirements already mentioned. Flame away.
Nice photo. I do the same with covering to economize. Is there a workbench under there? [;)]

RE: Lazy Bee's??
ORIGINAL: Jaspur_x Any upates guys? I just recently got 2 of the(foamy) COX lazybee`s,(used, ebay) sounded a lot simpler that building...............well then again, theu are used right? Well at least they were cheap!! So the first has a badly warped wing, I`m looking up plans to see about using a bult up wing in its place, chord is about 13 7/8'' x 38'' span The second just arived today, fuse is in great shape, but the wing ( OH,NO, not again)..........well someone didn`t like all the white foam apparently, and decides to spray paint the wing!! yes, you guessed id, not using foam safe spraypaint!! luckily they statred at the trailing edge with the paintjob, and stopped when the foam started showing deterioration lol I`m tempted to just monokote that wing and try it out. As is, its not/ish terribly deformed but lift and aerodynamics are def. going to be affected by the coarse tiny bubbling;a little worse than 50 grit sand paper for the most part.
You could fill that with light weight spackle and sand smooth. Back when those planes first came out, a friend of mine had one and it did fly fairly well, but not as lively as my built up one with the OS .15.
