RE: DESOUTTER mk1
door skins are amazing & best is they are cheap.... i have been using them since 1999... happy with it i mainly built small planes 40-60 size so need to make hollow cuts to make it lighter... [:D] all 40 size trainers i have built in the past have the same door skin fuselage & wings are either built up or foam...

RE: Foam wing help
Sorry, i am not in NY my brother is in NY. I am very far from that. But yes now i have finally decided i will build the wings in 2 separate core as i mentioned earlier & then join them together as the aerofoil is thin at the tip. I am good at cutting cores so this will not be a problem, the only thing was i am building this type of wing for the first time. Thanks for all your help will keep you updated on this.

RE: Foam wing help
The other option for me is rather than cutting two separate wing cores, i will cut the wing in one piece & later after sheeting i will cut the slot as shown in the drawing rather than using two separate aerofoils and later gluing them together.

Foam wing help
Hi all, I am working on my new design of pattern plane, this time the wings are bit different i have attached the picture. I am planning to go with a foam wing, but the problem is the wing has a thin tip. Can anyone suggest me how should i cut the cores i mean should i built each wing in 2 parts with different aerofoil & then join it together or what would be better. Thanks in advance, Harry

Yes i have seen this video & was very helpful to understand the design & flying F3A from the worlds best pilot CPLR himself.. but its really sad that we dont have the complete coverage of this event like any other event TOC, TAS... But i would like to thank Donatas for taking time for making this video.

RE: F3A Results - SPOILER
I don't know how many people are working on F3A designs using wind tunnel & other experiments & then come up with a design. I am not saying about anyone here, but i never heard people do intense research on F3A. I know there are many who are very interested in doing this.

RE: F3A Results - SPOILER
Rather than just guessing about the altitude & thin air condition in South Africa i think pilots in SA would be the best to comment on this & any ways i think the pilots skill be the last key to success.... regardless electric or YS power... If you ask me I put my money on YS...[:D] no matter what the altitude..

Electric Vs Engine.
Hi, The reason to start this thread is my simple question to you all with regards to fly F3A FAI class which is really better Electric or Glow. Hope to get many more answers here. I personally have flow small electric planes but never F3A size plane.

RE: 2 cycle engines for F3A
Yes, I totally agree with you on the YS 4 cycle engine nothing can compares these engines today not even E- power, but if there is a 200RX like a OS 140RX will it be good enough for the FAI class?? my point is not many people can afford the YS [:D] any thoughts on this.

2 cycle engines for F3A
Hi, I would like to know what would be the best 2 cycle engines we can use for a F3A plane apart from a Gas engine as i don't prefer them... I know the OS 160 engine is great but not that good for a FAI class. Also my question is if there be engine say 30 to 32cc 2 cycle glow engine will it be a good option for a F3A high class maneuvers if the engine is light weight enough? Thanks, Harry
