I had a similar problem with the shitty tt39 and it ended up being the glow plug... I understand a 90 and 30 are worlds apart but thats a simple thing to check. id also check the fuel lines to ensure there is no stopages. remove any inline filters to rule them out.

un-explained crash??? (Explained)
 So after upgrageing to an OS50 and all the necessary parts to take a 30 to a 50... i went to fly... The OS fired right off with no problems. I then took the rotor up to speed keeping it firmly on the ground. I tested the tail and it responded just as it should.  Then I went to make it light on the skids to test the other controls. As it became light it just started to go to the right and didnt respond to my input what so ever. The throttle was still responding normally, so as it went onto its side i was able to kill the engine to prevent even more destruction... So my question is what could have caused this? I checked my swash and its completly level the trims are centered (Futaba 9c). When I replaced all the parts I had the entire frams apart (to clean it good) and the head was also taken off. Is there something i forgot? Im about to order the parts I need and Want to know if there is a part I overlooked that needs replaceing or possible causes I can look into. Thanks :)

Ok, someone can change the name of the thread to "explained crash"..... Im sooo pissed now to know it was completly my fault. the swashplate direction does not respond correctly...... In fact its backwards on both directions..... WTF So thats a Nice pair of Carbon blades in the trash because I didnt make a basic check.... O well live and learn.... atleast I know what I wont do next time..... now time to go kick myself a few times :D

heli for beginer...
So I have my Raptor 50 Titan :) but my friends wife wants to start him in the hobby. When I started I had an Art tech Falcon 3d. it was a great heli for the money... I thought to get him the same (as mine was destroyed in a horrific crash by my daughter lol ) But I cant find this one instock in any online shop... So the question is for a similar price (200Euros 300$) what could I get him. must be RTF and include all necessary items to fly. doesent need to be great. But does need to be a CP like the falcon 3d. the only real limit is the price altho it can flex slightly if neccessary.... thanks :)

8.7:1 on titan?
So I ordered all the parts for my R30-50 upgrade. OS 50 Hyper :):):) ooo I cant wait... to bad I got to wait about a week for them to get here (overseas shipping) I noticed I ordered 8.7:1 gear ratio.... good or bad? I got 600MM carbon fiber blades comming with it... I read it keeps the engine at a higher RPM for a given headspeed.... I dont know if i like this or not... what are the rest of you running. FYI I made it into the R50Titan size So I COULD put 620mm's on her.... 95mm on the tail... Now im worried about this gear ratio...

So im ordering all my parts from rons helizpros south... The Muscle pipe is sold out... so what exhause for around 80$ should I get? I read a 100 diffrent things all tell me something else. just want a good exhaust that gives good power.....

r30 to r50
So I'm upgrading my r30 to a r50... question is...I'm getting the os50. Will the muffler from my tt39 work to begin with? Its not the stock 3 piece the tt39 came with. The one I have now is an acepv0102... if that helps at all. It says its a 30 size however. Thanks :-) :-) :-)

Bu going to the titan size i assume you mean the tail. I see that they are different part numbers. So looks like ill just put 600mm on it. Really like to know more about that engine. its specs show it to be more powerful then the OS55. It will be a bit until I order anyways so gives some time for more information on that engine to come around. Thanks.

R30 to 50
So my TT39 finaly gave up the gost, peice of the piston broke off in flight (hover). DIdnt crash but now im going to make it into a 50. I know the parts I need. I have a few questions. First can i run 625MM rotor blades when I convert it? or larger with a 50 conversion? Secondly I found a very intresting engine. Novarossi REX R57HR-3DS .57 Does anyone know anything about it? is it worth the money? I also looked at the OS 55 Hyper and OS 50. The 55 ive read might have some bearing problems but i dont really know. I know i need a new engine mount, gear, tail boom and supports and belt. Anything else I need to bring it to a 50? TIA

Am I missing something? My sleve does not go in easilt at all. I think i would have to almost hammer it in. is this normal? What Can I do other than replaceing it? because then I will just buy a new engine...id rather get this one to work...

the 2 bolts holding the clutch to the fan sheered. I over tightened them accordnig to BarracudaHockey lol wont happen again though. I also replaced the piston ring. hopefully it brings the life back into her.

RE: TT39 ring
So as it seems no one is awake... I now took the piston out of the engine (along with the sleeve as I just learned). My sleeve is discolored (brown) as is the piston. The sleeve has no scratches on the inside and is very smooth. The piston is likewise, no scratches on the side or top but discolored. The con-rod is completely silver and looks new. the piston ring was broken. The normal slit was there then another piece was broken off, about a 1-1.5cm piece. It was all in the grove however. There is a black build-up where the ring goes. Does this need to be cleaned? If so, with what? I also see the bottom of the sleeve is tapered. I assume this is for when I re-insert it into the engine so it compresses the ring (no ring-compressor needed like in a gas engine?) The inside of the engine where the sleeve goes is lightly discolored (light brown) I assume I need to clean all the pieces with whatever I use to clean the ring grove? is there anything else I need to know before putting it back together? Any advice is appreciated!!! Thanks!

there is no slop at all. I know i overheated it when i was still learning and im fairly sure the ring is shot thus letting air by and lowering its proformance. But good info. Ill probley just replace it to see if that was indeed the problem.

I was wondering if there is sure fire way to test the compression on a TT39. I think I need a new Ring, but wanna make sure replacing it will help. When I rotate the engine by hand I can hear air passing the ring. it still runs but seems very underpowered when I fly. Anyways thanks for the info...

TT39 FAN
TT39 Fan problem... 4th time...it would seem something is wrong here... This is the 4th time the bolts holding the clutch to the fan have sheered... the 1st 3 times it happened were right together. now about 20 flights latter it has done it again. beings this is the 4th time it’s a new fan again beings there aren’t any holes left to All the bolts you need for model building! bolt the clutch on... Does anyone have an idea of what is causing this? I hear it sheer in the air but it basically locks the clutch and bell together so I don’t lose power during flight. I knew exactly what had happened. when I pulled the engine out I noticed one of the 4 engine mounting bolts was not in all the way although it was tight... I’m lost. I think it has to be alignment or just material failure of the bolts? Anyone else?

finaly! this is what i was worried about and why I havent done it. I noticed when I was just running the 5servos and gyro it got rather hot. The voltage was constant. But it never gets that hot unless the brushless motor is attached. Thanks! Now im gonna go look for a good voltage regulator with a built in glow capablities. Any recommendations?
