RE: Help with Exceed Blue Ray 450SE
i did the first flight today with the new EXI rotor head and tail combo setup! everything flew great once balanced, but one problem. during an inverted loop, the plastic washout links snapped. not sure why though. was able to bring it down safely but with a fight to control it, as the flybar was not moving with stick input. basically just collective and minor cyclic control. would watch out for these on breaking. does anyone know if there are metal washout links somewhere?

i went ahead and just upgraded to EXI head and tail setup, because my swash plate was giving a lot of play from side to side. i have never crashed it or anything. it seems to be working fine now for some reason. i never changed anything on it. but yes, the radio is programmable, only through the computer though. thanks for the help

its kind of like nitroplanes. if they know how fast they will sell out, why dont they pre-order their products ahead of time. instead of making customers mad, and make everyone have to wait. bummer!!!

RE: how much negative pitch do i need for autorotation for trex 450
i would think as much as -10 or so. you probably dont need that much, but since its electric, and has more drag on headspeed, it slows down faster than if it were a nitro powered heli for example. i have -10 on mine just to be safe. not enough neg. pitch would obviously result in a crash due to the drag slows the head speed down quickly. but i would put training gear on it and set it to -8 -10 or so on negative pitch, and do some autos. experiment a little with how fast it slows down. training gear would add a little weight, but better to experiment with it on in case you land hard or something. goodluck with it

Help with Exceed Blue Ray 450SE
hi guys, im looking for someone that can help me with my blue ray. What is happening is all of a sudden whenever im in normal mode for the throttle, the helicopter will rotate in a counterclockwise direction when i hit the collective up kinda fast. i know there is a torque factor here, but its never done it till today. i have tried increasing the gain and decreasing, but nothing helps. i usually keep the gyro, or the upper left know in the same position everytime i start it up. and if this may help, everytime i do start it up and wait for the ESC to beep, and the gyro to initialize, after that i always have to input some right rudder trim. is this normal or am i doing something wrong? One other thing is, if there is someone that has a good 3D setup on their transmitter that you could possibly send me either by email, or in a file or something, that would be fantastic! my 3D setup im guessing isnt that good because the heli will tend to drift sometimes doing loops and rolls. and my collective isnt straight and level all the way through the collective stroke. its starts with some right angle for the torque factor, and when at full collective, it has a small left angle. so my guess it the servos arent moving at the same pace. Thank you everyone for reading this, and anything and everything will be helpful.

RE: Belt CP V2 vs. Exceed Blue Ray 450SE
well good question! I dont have any experience with the Belt CP V2 (although this was what i WAS gonna choose), but on the other hand, i have done a lot of research on the Blue Ray from EXceed. I ordered the Blue Ray, and it came neatly packed, RTF! it is the SE version, and after topping the battery off to max charge, i flew it with the training gear off coarse. nothing needed to be changed, except trim it. blade tracking was perfect, and the pitch. ANYWAYS, i would most definately suggest this heli. i have not had much experience with helis, so basically starting out with the Blue Ray. what im getting at, is this heli could almost fly hands-off all the time, in no wind of coarse. it is so easy to control and fly. i would suggest cleaning up the plastic ball links, as this will improve performance, and the less sticky feel new helis have. it is so extremely easy to fly, and the response, and performance is incredible. Definately rcommended for sure! you will be doing loops and rolls in no time. One Bad thing though, in order to put mixing, and pitch curves, throttle curves, etc., into your Tx, you have to hook it into the computer to do so. now first things first when doing so! VERY IMPORTANT! select the USB port in the setting menu, and RIGHT AWAY hit Get User button, and save stock settings immediatley. otherwise your Tx could lose all programmed functions factory sent stock. BUT otherwise this is an amazing heli. Good Luck!!

Falcon 25 pusher
okay! i bought one of these things and to set up a nitro engine on it is going to be hard enough, let alone the jet was a pain to assemble anyways. this is my first jet, however i have a 1/4 scale gas etc.. Now my question is, is what would be the best, and most fastest electric/ lipo set-up for this kind of jet? i want to do electric on this one due to weight. i already have a 30amp esc, but what about motor size? all help would be great from anyone! thanks

RE: SG5010 servos from nitroplanes?
i could have possibly gotten a bad servo. but i am sending them back and getting the towerhobbies digital/ metal gear ones. people at my club use them a lot and say they are good. i am using a 22x10 wood prop and i was only doing about 1/4 throttle while flying it, and wing flutter on both wings really really bad!

SG5010 servos from nitroplanes?
these servos do not work one bit. does anyone know what the number is to this company. first flight in the new edge 540T and extremely bad wing flutter. these servos sre rated at i believe something like 148oz on 4.8V or 160oz on 6.0V. well the right wing had flutter due to the servo gears stripping out inside. not even a minute in flight. the left wing servo has so much play in the gears inside. anyone who shops with this company shoul not buy these servos. what a way to almost lose an airplane!!! now the airplane flies well that i bought on nitroplanes. but anyways, does anyone have a contact number to this company? not just the online discussion, but an actual number?

RE: Need Advice for buying a plane. help?
yes! i bought the tower hobbies trainer the MKII or MK2, however you look at it. but this plane gives great learning experience, flies very well, is very stable. i just started flying in january, already have 4 planes, and into the 28% scale now. this is because it teaches you so fast on how to fly. i would definatley recommend this airplain to anyone getting into the hobby. now for tricks, it can do basically whatever you want. loops, knife edges, even hover(but is hard to do), fly inverted, etc. its hard to do some tricks such as prop hang/ hover, and inverted flight, due to the way the wings are structured. very well crafted, and made. i found no flaws in mine whatsoever. the engineon mine has already about 4 gallons through it, and has incredible compression still. very powerful for a tower .46 engine. but anyways, i would check this plane out. great price for RTF as well. cant beat the price here is the link: http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXCXF4**&P=ML

Turnigy HP50cc VS DL50?
hi guys,. has anyone had experience with the Turnigy 50? i was looking at the DL50 but for almost 100 dollars cheaper, you might have to consider if its pretty good, that is the turnigy engine! i posted a thread on here before but it got deleted or something. any help would be appreciated. tough decisions, as dl50 is preety darn good, and the turnigy is a clone like deal of an XYZ engine. Thanks

RE: Edge 540T 50cc opinions?
okay because i am always getting confused about the numbers with servos. such as if higher the numbers are better or? and the manual says for example, Rudder: 2x 130mm rod, Elevator: 2x 280mm rod, and Ailerons: 2x 180mm rod. However when i measured them to the airplane, they seem way to long, and will have too much extra rod sticking out of the linkage stopper.

oh sweet information. anything works for me. now i just have to figure out what kind of servos to use, and finish reading my 8ch cpm transmitter manual. everything looks very well made. AND, did you use the wire for tail fin/ horizontal stabilizer? and i noticed the booklet says for example 180mm, or 130mm for the rudder/ elevator linkages. these however are way too long to fit.

wow thats a lot of useful information. im still kinda confused on where the tick marks are because this is my first scale model that has them. i always went by a measurement from the leading edge if the wing. are the tick marks those small holes above the black wing tube? and you made the "U" block correct? or it comes pre-installed from factory? im very paranoid about this plane, because its my first gaser, and its kinda an expensive model thanks for all the help again. everything and anything is greatly appreciated[:)]

wow! your Edge 540T looks well built and crafted. the way you set everything in the fuse is very well organized, and there is tons of room. i will do the search for the ZDZ 50cc engine. and does this plane have monokote wings, or are they balsa fully painted? i appreciate your input as this will help me. especially if the book is telling me the CG is wrong!!!
