RE: K&B .65 Sportster (yup, more from me)
Its bigger than it looks, 32" long x 18" wide. The first couple times I ran it, it seemed like the .65 was too small for it given its weight. Since I've been switching props and the speed is getting better, I'm getting to be a bit happier with it. This same boat design and construction with a 91FX ran 38mph+.
Hello there, looks like your have fun with your boat. The 38mph was with a .61fx apc12/4. The 91 was added later just too see how high she would fly[:D]

RE: Fastest Engine
Hello fellows, its been a while but I thouht Id update you on my boat. Last year about November, I lost radio with the boat and listened as it smacked a dock at 73mph. I lost the gps and tuned pipe in the cold water and the engine was barely hanging by the fuel line.[X(] I went back four days latter with a fishnet taped to a broom handle and scraped the bottom till I finaly found both of them. Over the winter I rebuilt it here are a couple of pics of damage and rebuild.

Craig wrote:
Thanks for sharing. You said in the video that you had to "adjust the wing down, it's way too high." Are you talking about the elevator adjustment? What do you look for during a run to you tell when the elevator is adjusted correctly? I was also wondering, have you ever rolled or lifted a pontoon in a high speed turn? Have you ever held full throttle for more than two seconds on a run? Brad seemed to notice your boats stability as he mentioned that it didn't flip even once. Are the other racers redesigning their boats yet?
What I meant by that was that the rear of the boat was riding too high off the water, I try to keep the botton of the hull above and parallel with the surface of the water. I actualy meant that the elavater needed pitched up to push the rear of the boat down some. I have had it belly up once after the inside sponson hooked on some wake vigorusly snacthing the boat around which also had something to do with the wing not being tuned in correctly. Thanks fellows, Ill definatly get some video for you guys.[:D]
think that there is a law to that effect in most states that if you build something that looks like it could break the sound barrier, you have to post video on RCU of a speed-run. You don't want to go to jail over this do you Hooty? Also, tell us more about that metal engine mount; is it stainless steel, aluminum?
LOL..no I dont wanna go to jail, will post video[:D] The engine stand is aluminum.

RE: Fastest Engine
Thanks guys!
Hey Hooty that is very cool!! How far have you come on the NITRO Rigger??? I am getting into the helicopters right now and still thinking about building a Airboat, due to the fact that I live near a hundred lakes. How are you liking the snow and all of the winter experience as a whole??
Slowly but surely making progress. Winter isnt to bad just waiting for the spring thaw.
Just out of curiousity, those tubes that hold the outriggers in place are pretty draggy. Would it make sense to either encapsulate them in some sore of airfoil shape? also, they could be adjustable to help trim the boat on step??
I thought of adding a trailing edge to them, do you think that would help? They will be adjustable by adding shims under the tubes, still need to slot the holes.
