bec or lvc issue
k here it is i have a slash with a dx3.0 a sidewinder with a 5700kv in it and a 2cell lipo 5000mah, i have a glitch that happens everywhere i run the truck i've tried two different receivers and it does it with either one, iknow it's not the controller because there's no issue in my promod car, i ran it yesterday and the diff went out in it and when it slipped amd caught again it glitched and lost all power no steering nothing, and then it would come back on and it would run fine til the diff slipped again the motor spooled and then grabbed and it would quit then start again. im kinda thinkin the lvc is bad or something i dunno, any ideas

RE: VXL motor/Sidewinder ESC help!
as far as the colors on the wires you should just be able to switch the blue and yellow ones around ie, blue to red yellow to black, you can download the castle link program from the castle site and u may have to get the adapter to go from micro usb to the receiver wire on the controller.

RE: Aquacraft Mini Rio
ORIGINAL: Vanguo88 The out board will be too heavy for this type of shallow V boat, which designed for surface drive. Only thing to make this Mini Rio to go very fast is a small and light BL motor with small ESC and a 1500 to 2000mah Lipo. To maintain the surface drive and to keep the boat get onto plane fast, you need to keep the weight of all the hardwares light and optimize for speed. There is an upgrade or hop up package available with a 2600KV motor + 30A ESC + collet (connect between the BL motor to the stock flex cable, the stock connector cannot take the additional power from the BL motor). With this upgrade my Mini Rio run w/ a ThunderPower 2000mah prolite Lipo, I can get 2x the speed of the stock MR, it will start up and on the plane almost instantaneous (less than a sec.). The difference is almost like driving a Nascar versus a V-6 Corvette. And the run time last over 20 to 30 mins depending on water and wind conditions and if you are running full throttle all the time.
and where would one purchase this package? [:D]

RE: King Motors Baja Review with pictures
ok so i just did the break in on my baja, it only took the local hobby two weeks to get the oil in for me but i wasn't in that big of a rush, so i got the oil fridday and the gas today i was really surprised the thing even ran outside seeing it is only 10*f. the only problem i had was when it got down to past a half a tank if i would put it hard into a corner it would die. this happened like three times but started up evry time it died i got like 35-40 minutes run time and the throttle response was good. And to make it's maiden voyage a complete success just before it ran out of gas i did an evel kaneivel over a snow bank and landed the whole car on the right rear tire and it broke so it was a complete success. one more thing the baja tires and bead lock rings will go on hpi wheels right. thanks, all you guys have beeen extremely helpful in this km baja adventure. matt

RE: Does the King Motor Baja convert to a 5T
ORIGINAL: SAVAGEJIM I dont know, the possibility of such a beast becoming available in the US could change. Here is my speculation: If trade agreements change, HPI could be able to claim copyright and intellectual property infringement. The reason why clones were able to come in so easily into the US within the past decade is because of massive deregulations and serious relaxing of international trade barriers. Remember how there was a huge stink about chinese clones coming into America (not just RCs, but clothing knock-offs, electronics, etc.)? that was sort of pushed aside in favor of more open trading. But in light of the economy, actions might change that old view some or alot. So, a 5T clone MIGHT come to America, but if things roll differerntly, the 5T clone might not even hit ships bound for America.
yeah but hpi is out of japan, copyrights don't cross over from japan to china, that's why the km baja's are still being produced. that's what i've been told correct me if i'm wrong.

RE: King Motors Baja Review with pictures
ORIGINAL: scarletboa i use 40 wt in the front and rear. the front may feel a little stiff but this is good for steering. I WAS PULLING WHEELIES TODAY!.........that is....until i wrecked the clutch bell plate thing, upper rear plate, and spur gear. i think the clutch bell is toast too.[:'(] DO NOT WHEELIE USING SPEEDBUMPS! landing with the wheels spinning makes it wheely but it kills your tranny. i'm looking at a $50-$80 pricetag for this fix. (or at least i would if a fellow baja owner wasn't so nice. he has a tricked out 5t and has the plates i need and a spare spur and is giving all 3 to me for an even $20. i still need to check the CB.) i still managed 3 tanks today though. this thing is a money pit and is quickly climbing to the cost of the real 5b. $505 shipped for the baja and pipe $70 for the steering servo $65 for the outerwears PS and airfilter covers along with the turtle racing phatdaddy rear shock brace $120 for the hostile tires with hpi rims, foams and beadlocks. $50 for the repair i now need. and that doesn't include the upgraded radio i put in. $810.............i could've had a b5 ss for that price.... kingmotor was probably not the best choice for me. i still have a ton of parts that will give soon including the diff, the dogbones and outdrives, the engine, and much much more. i think this KM baja was a big mistake for me. It is great for people who don't bash though. well, i'm in for the KM ride now and i will just deal with it ..............................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................[:@][:@][:@]
dude youre still behind the 8 ball by a good $400 and you don't think you would've upgraded an SS hpi's break to, the only thing you may not have to replace was the servo and then you stillmay have had to replace who knows. i am very happy with my baja and have not even run the frikin thing yet. i've had several hpi 5b oweners come into the shop i work at and say man that is a hell of a deal. oh and all hobbies are a money pit so that's the price to have fun.

RE: King Motors Baja Review with pictures
ORIGINAL: scarletboa my shocks were like that too. what you need to do is take them apart, drain the oil, drill the pistons out because they come way too small. this will make them much smoother and less bumpy. i would like to know if the DDM choke levers too. i already have one and either i'm not putting it on right or it doesn't fit. i've been using my pliers to operate the choke. the first upgrade in my opinion, should be the KM tuned pipe. it almost doubles performance on the stock engine. the stock can mufflers are WORSE then the ones on the real baja 5b. gutting the muffler can and removing the stinger helps if you can't get a tuned pipe. The second upgrade, get a better rear shock brace. mine bent after a 1-2 foot jump. it barely got of the ground. get either the hpi 4 bolt brace or get a turtle racing brace. the $47 one offers the best strength ad it also protects the tops of the rear shocks. The phatdaddy one is $25 and is VERY sturdy. It just doesn't protect the shock ends in a really bad rollover. The stock radio system really isn't too bad. i'm using it in my recently rebuilt t-maxx (i call it the weakmaxx) and it is not bad at all. just be sure to get a failsafe. i prefer the duratrax failsafes or the venom failsafes. a better clutch spring would help also. the stock one engages WAY too early. even the baja 5b stock 6000rpm spring is an improvement. i got the 8000rpm spring and my low-end bog is now gone; at the cost shredding the stock tires.[:)] i have the really gnarly hostile MX tires though for off-road. Benkie, if there are any other immediate upgrades you would recommend, i'm open to any other good upgrades. my upgrades to far: prefilters for PS and air filter. phat daddy rear shock brace hpi high response 8000rpm clutch KM tuned pipe (makes a HUUUUGE difference) Hitex 5745MG servo. (much better than stock)
what weight shock oil is evryone using for a good all purpose ride IE pavement, dirt grass, gravel, jumps, all that fun stuff.

ok i got my baja today had to track down the ups driver and i was late for work but i got it. so here are some questions. 1. how do i make the suspension softer and not so freakin bouncy. 2. do choke levers from ddm work on the km seeing as my baja didn't come with one. and 3. what in everybodies opinion what should the first upgrade be.

RE: Buy airbrush or spray cans
ok i have an iwata hp-cs and absolutely love it easy to clean very versatile. i spray whole bodies and do detail stuff with it. i probably going to be looking into doing a triple action handle on it so i can do super fine lines. i spray faskolor mostly and haven't tried anything else. i used spay cans for the first 8 years i was in this hobby and then got an airbrush and it was much easier. i would say go airbrush and iwata makes excellent products. hope this helped pm me for any further questions i'll be on after 9 pm it's 3:37 pm here so adjust for time.
ORIGINAL: evil3 Parma's stuff seems to be the best right now, but Bob-D's works great as well. Normaly I use Bob-D's, but being that it is thinner it takes more coats to get it to the thickness that I want, and at times I don't have the time to add another 3 or 4 layers of masking if I am painting for someone else. Other wise it works great. RE: Body Outline
that would be cool to have but i just recently tried drawing my idea on the outside of the body with a dry erase marker, then you can erase and redo and fine tune your idea. i just liquid mask the inside of the body and then draw my idea with the dry erase and fine tune it. then when your idea is the way you like it and the liquid mask is dry just trace the design on the inside of the body with a permanent marker. And if ur gonna do a pinstripe around flames or something else use a sharpie with rounded tip like one that's been used for a while to rihgt on cardboard or somwthing else hard then you have a wide enough stripe to cut to the inside and the outside of the line to make perfect stripes if u can cut that steady. hope this helps. oh and i havn't tried the dri erase on bodies without the protective film on them i don't know if bodies are still sent out without the film but incase there not try it in a not so noticeable spot. hope this helps

i know you can get really thin double stick tape it's as thin as scotch tape i would try that i work a t a hobby shop and the owener uses to stick signs and crap to the wall suff is pretty sticky. i would just stick it to the back of the sticker and then trim the access off of the edges and that should work fine. hope this works.
