RE: Realflight G2 Controller Sensitivity
ORIGINAL: OldCoot If you just want to slow down the cyclic and/or TR action of the heli: Make a copy of the helicopter Then you can edit the radio for that particular model. You will have full control of expo, dual rate, pitch and throttle curves, etc. in the radio setup. I put about -20 expo and it made the sim very close to my actual helicopter.
I don't have a radio/transmitter yet. I only have the plastic transmitter that came with the Sim. Is that ok?

Realflight G2 Controller Sensitivity
Hi, I'm practicing RC heli on the Realflight G2 Sim. The heli I'm using is the Sundog. The controller is too sensitive. It's not stable at all. I asked a guy at the field and he said the Realflight G2 is much harder to fly than the real thing because it's overly sensitive. He said there is a way to make it less sensitive. Is there a way to adjust the sensitivity? If so, how? What setting do you recommand? Thanks.

gasoline engines
Is it possible to have 2 engines for a kit, one gasoline and one nitro. When you simply want to play around, you use the gasoline engine, when you feel the need for performance or race, you put the nitro engine in and take the gasoline engine out. How hard is it to swap engines?

Now that I bought the kit, can you recommand some engines, servos, and radios that is worthy of the kit? I don't want a high end kit but with inferior engine and radio. Thanks.

It's a nice car but I'm afraid that after the chrome parts get scratched I won't be able to polish it. Do they have metal replacement parts for it?

I like the SMP Slide from the pic. It has lots of metal parts. Do you consider it to be superior than the Mugen and Serpent? in terms of performance. What' the price for the kit usually?

need help buying 1/8 on road
I want to get a on road 1/8 car that can go FAST. as fast as I can get. RTR won't work for me. I want to get an advanced kit that I put together and can be customized. Currently, I'm considering the Mugen MRX-3 and the Serpent 950. Which one do you guys recommand? In addition, if there are better kits than those (in your opinion), please tell me too. And lastly, I hope you guys can recommand me some good engines/radios to go with those. Remember, I need speed. Thanks

getting into RC Cars
Hi guys I've recently gotten a bit of extra cash in hand so I want to buy a RC car to play with. I want a kit that I build my self, not RTR. I prefer a 1/8 on road car because I prefer speed over anything else. It's prefered that the car can reach above 80 mph. Can you guys recommend some good manufacturers and models ? I have prior RC experience Thanks

Nose In Hover
Anyone here who is good at this? I'm starting out in heli and recently I'm practicing both regular hover and nose in hover at the same time. I've beginning to get good at both. Is this the right way to go? Is nose in hover one of the harder things to do in RC heli?

Ouch...the blade to the throat...that's horrible. I guess he was practicing way too close to the helicopter. I hope things like this doesn't happen much or else the R/C heli would be banned.

Please help with G2!
Okay, I just got Realflight G2 for a couple of days so far and everything is good. I can do some hovering. But it's so hard to land the heli. The throttle is hard to control...it either makes the bird fall like a rock to the ground or it won't land the heli, it's hard to fall slowly... Then I was at a hobby shop and I tried the G2 demo they had, it's SOO much easier to fly. I can land, hover...fly around, with much ease. I think this has to do with the configuration of the controls... I remember an local expert told me once to change aileron to ...something %, elevator to something...%....ect. What does those mean? What kind of configuration do you guys use in order to make the G2 fly like the real thing? Because right now I think my G2 is unnecessary hard to fly. Thanks.

I really loved that site. [:o][:(] Now I need it again...but it's now a search engine. Whoever is behind this, I say we lock him/her in a small steel box (with slight ventiliation, and half filled with water) for 20 days, alone with some rats and snakes.

RE: Realflight G2 Simulator
YES! Today I had my first major breakthrough![8D] I finally got a little control on the beast! For the first time I can hover the thing for more than 20 seconds. Now I got more confidence. It seems the heli always tend to drift to the left (viewed from the back) and slightly toward the back, why?

RE: What do u think about nitro in US ?
The manufacturers should just try to develop lighter and more powerful gasoline engines. There should be some kind of additives developed to take full benefit of the energy density of gasoline. Gasoline is a lot cheaper and convenient. Plus it doesn't have the nasty smelling smoke.

What about trims? Does that do anything? I have no problem keeping the heli upright, but it always drift to one side. In fact, I have to lean the heli toward the opposite side in order to stay at one position. The winds are all 0 velocity...

RE: Realflight G2 Simulator
I tried out my G2 for the first time today! The sound and the graphics are amazing! I think the Sun Dog is the best heli. It's weird because I could almost do inverted flight, loops..ect, even a couple of successful autorotations, but I CAN"T HOVER! It's so hard to keep the heli at one place. It always have a tendency to drift sideways, how can I correct this? I think my control might be a little sensitive, is there anyway to make it have lower sensitivity? Thanks

Do you guys recommand this?
Hi, I'm new at helis. Um...I'm looking into getting a gasser. Mainly because it's easier and cheaper to operate, but also because I'm more into general flying than extreme aerobatics. Maybe I'll look into aerobatics later but now I just want to fly around and take aerial photographs. Should I just get a XCell gasser as a first heli? Thanks.

Realflight G2 Simulator
Hi guys, I'm a complete newbie at RC helicopters. I've seen people fly them but I've never touched one myself. I plan to jump into this hobby. I just ordered a Realflight G2 Flight Simulator. It's on its way now. Meanwhile, I have a couple of question. Does the simulator teach you the basics of the controls and the radios? such as trimmings and setups. Is the simulator a VERY close approximation of the real thing? By this I mean if I totally master the beast on the simulator I can immediately buy a RC heli and go out and fly with no problem. Overall, what do you guys think of Realflight G2? Thanks.

I'm a RC car guy but recently got interested in RC heli. One small thing though...I tried out this RealFlight simulator at a hobby shop and I must admit RC heli is IMPOSSIBLE! After a couple of trys I figured out what the controls are for. but I still couldn't last for more than 10 seconds. I crashed about 30 times. Is there hope for me? Maybe I should look into planes...
