RE: HK-450GT CCPM Alloy T-Rex compatible - Part III
Yes I'm still alive!!! Had a great day of flying Planks! Did a maiden on the 25e super cub Love it love it! The turnegy motor works great align 70 amp esc 5s 3000mh zippy batt. airtronic servos in the wing and hitec in the fuse. ar7000 receiver and the old jr x9303. it was a little windy to day while I was there but I flew her a couple of times and had a smile on my face. I mad a purchase of a watt, amp, volt meter to see what prop gets the best thrust and time in the air. Looks like a 13x5 xoar or apc 13x6.5. Bryan had a couple of maidens today as well His cap 232 with a ys 120sc, fast and quick, I thought it was going in but he recovered very well and made a great landing. The other was one of my old birds her brought back to life, a spitfire 60, I missed this flight but heard it fly great. Happy flying Hugh

Thanks guys! the eletonics were a acculumation over the past 8 monts trying to get the swift to peform well and be reliable! I bid on a couple of trex 550 kits but was out bid. TJ told me to check out the hk 550 fbl. I did and the price was right. So W.T.H The wife said give it a shot. If it is as good as my 500 hk aka trex 500 I think i will be happy! Hugh

Simon she looks great very stable, Roger you are lucky a rotor coming off at over 200mph it's like being in a tornado with debris flying. Went to a swap meet today saw lots of things to drool over but the wifie put a limt on purcheses lately! Besides when i get the hk550 I'm sure i'll need a few things. The Gaui flys great I had a great time sat. Thanks for posting the videos Bryan and the photographer Cody!!! Hugh

Hey Brian I haven't got to but it up very long, I had loose mounting tape for the unit so it acted wierd, I fixed it when I got home and the test flights are flawless. I did get the trex 500 up and it has the same unit flew great even tryed a loop which turned out to be a floop not on vid. though. Getting more confident with my skills just being reservied! I'll try to post some vids soon. Bryan has come a long way with his skills loops rolls and not many crashes. I'm impressed with his progress! Hugh

RE: HK-450GT CCPM Alloy T-Rex compatible - Part III
Hey everyone had a great flying afternoon with Bryan and the gang! Flew the old piper pawnee what a joy! Put the gaui 425 up with the hobbymate fbl unit had a couple of issues right drift. The problem was a loose unit the gyro pad that came with the unit let loose. came home new pad, test flight in the yard steady as a rock! Put the trex 500 up with the same unit and had a blast getting my fast forward down and even did a loop well kind of! I sure do love the fbl unit. Ingelburn, I did a quick setup video of this unit just make sure to have the pitch at 0 when you teach the unit 6 degrees in the video I did not have my stick at 50% I had to redo the setup now shes fine. If you get one and have any questions please ask I'll try to help. The beastx manual helps explane what each peramiter does. Hugh

RE: HK-450GT CCPM Alloy T-Rex compatible - Part III
Hey ingleburn this is my second hobbymate fbl unit the first is on the trex500 i love the unit programing is a breeze no computer neede or a sepreat programing unit. It is a beastx clone so the instruction for the beastx will help in the setup the instruction manual is very basic but if you get one and need help let me know. is is more stable than the copterx and very responsive. As Brian in fl says his friend loves his and so do I. I hope to have a video posted tommrow night of the fist real flight with the gaui 425. Hugh

Just installed the hobby mate fbl in my gaui 425, i took the copterx out I just like the programing of the beastx clone better. I need to make a few adjustments and i hope to put it through it paces tommrow! I'll try to get some video! All I hope everyone is doing well. Brian even with that nice field you seem to keep the heli close, Let her loose! Take care Hugh

RE: HK-450GT CCPM Alloy T-Rex compatible - Part III
I have a cx1000 on my 450, gaui 425 a beastx clone on the trex 500 and a beastx on the swift 550. the only issues i had were with the cx1000 on the gaui droped the gains and flys great. both the clone and orginal beastx work great i like them better beceause you can program them with out a computer. I got the 550 back in the air this last weekend flew great. I'm a little gun shy though come to find out the tail linkege is a weak link I can upgrade to cnc but it is $$$$ also i may convert it to the gaui design if it will work tail shafts are the same size. I think i will take one off and see if it will work, if it does i can get a cnc gaui set up for less money. Raining again so i think a little mntc. is in order. Hugh

Well it's another week starting tommrow! Did a little flying yesterday with the 55o swift first flight flawless and had a great 6 min. The second problems, on lift off it acted weird drifting to my left, set her back down check it over no prob found, lifted back off and now the tail was very slow to respond i added more right into her and wow a piro to the right like mad,i hit throttle hold and down she went! Not too much dammage the post mordem revieled locked up tail grip bearings. the one place i forgot to check. I guess if there is a problem just fly it will show up!!! Hugh

RE: HK-450GT CCPM Alloy T-Rex compatible - Part II
Yes the field is nice but a lot of mowing, My father inlaw does it one week and i get the next. takes a little over a hour on the riding mower. Hope you have a great flying day in the down under. I am in love with the hobbymate hb800 fbl i got mine here www.hobbycool.com/ fast shipping and the do ship over seas. they also had the hobbymate dfc 500 and 450 head. the 500 head comes with every thing but the feather shaft. if you use 3mm spacers on the bolts it works great. that was the only prob i had. if moneys not a prob i have this head on my gaui 425 fbl. www.nankinhobby.com/category-s/1886.htm it is beautiful. no mods with this one! my Gaui flys like a dream i think the head and this fbl unit would be awsome. on any 500 heli. RE: HK-450GT CCPM Alloy T-Rex compatible - Part II
what i ment was with the beastx you teach the unit where 6 degrees of pitch is. Went flying with Bryan and the gang today Had a great time i got to test the trex500 and it's a dream. my 450 trex put on a show for some vistors Bryan at the sticks My gaui 425 fbl peformed flawless along with the buget build gaui 425. Brayn got his gaui 425 back flying and he gave it hell peformed great goes from 0 to 60 in a heartbeat. Flew planks today a modfied trainer that has all the flight modes from mild to wild. Bryan put on a show with the super sportster and the rascal also Bryan had his 450 going gang busters i'm not sure how many batts. we went through but I thing the cargers will work overtime. TJ had his quad flyer ther and that thing is neat. Had a great day off to work tommrow. Hugh

RE: HK-450GT CCPM Alloy T-Rex compatible - Part II
Goodmorning! I once again have become a victom of the evil Brian in Fl. He forced me to get a hobbymate fbl unit, twisted my arm and stood on my sholder and said get it. It and a hobbymate dfc head has found it's way on the trex 500. The head was a few hour headace when you would tighten the feather shaft up it would bind the blade grips I checked eveything ten times i guess they did not make the bearing hole deep enough so some small shims on the end of the shaft did the trick! now works great. the fbl unit is wounderful just like my beastx the instructions lack but if you have used a beastx or have their instructions it makes it easy. the servos i used have no listing for the hrtz so i set the cyclic at 200kh and the tail at 333hz had a twichie tail so i droped it down to 167hz and sloved the prob. I like this unit better than the copter x you teach this unit the cyclic geometry where the copter x you don't. any who. here is a 2nd maden in the yard.
