RE: Best Servo Reverser
Does anyone else have any comments about a Servo Reverser that they have used in the past for the dual elevator hook-up? hulio

RE: Best Servo Reverser
Personally, I might go ahead and try out my $39.99 Futaba SR-10 dual servo reverser since I have a new one on hand here. In the phoenix extra 330s servo set-up requirements in Tower it only calls for a Y-Harness for the elevator servos. Doesn't say anything about needing a "reversing" Y-Harness for the elevators....like it does on their U Can Do 46 size. As long as my reverser doesn't go totally haywire on me and lose my plane, I see nothing wrong with making slight adjustments on the linkages if the reverser makes a servo not center properly after some use. All the other makes of reversers can't guarantee me 100% that theirs will work any better than the one I already have! And I surely can't see spending $69.99 plus shipping and handling on those MatchBoxes when I only paid $120 for my plane after my discount! And I'll almost bet that if I use all Futaba 3004 standard servos, those will work fine also. I've never had one fail me yet and I fly my planes pretty hard. And after watching several videos of the phoenix extra 330 on you tube, I'm not even too sure if I'm even going to like this plane! I have a tiger 60 with an OS 91FX that will probably fly circles around that extra 330! The rolls those pilots on you tube were doing with the extra 330 looked terrible! My tiger 60 rolls better than that!

Will futaba 3004 standard servos work ok on the dual elevator hookup? And also, if you used a dual servo reverser for the elevator which make did you use? hulio

That sounds like the perfect thing to do dszabo2. However, about the only thing I know about electronics is, it starts with the letter E. I've been checking out servo reversers in google and half the people say they work and the other half say they don't. I appreciate all the replys so far. hulio

SR-10 Dual Servo Reverser
I need to reverse a servo for my dual servo elevator hookup on my phoenix extra 330s. Does anyone know if this product is very reliable to get the job done, and have you ever actually used this particular one? I have a futaba 6 exp radio. http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXANF2&P=ML hulio

RE: Best Servo Reverser
Upon further observation I happen to have a New Futaba SR-10 Dual Servo Reverser in a box and I am wondering how well it would work. I will be using either 2 futaba 3004 standard servos or 2 futaba 3010 high torque servos for my elevator. http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXANF2&P=ML Has anyone in here ever "actually" used this particular reverser and how well did it work? You would think that if it was that terrible or junk, tower would pull it off the market! I'd like to know... Hulio

I'm the local hacker on the golf course and I'm the local rc pilot that just wants to bore some holes in the sky. I don't want to invest any more dough than I have to. Since my radio doesn't support the dual elevator servo set-up and I'm low on funds, what would You do in my case for the elevator set-up to get this thing in the air? I'd sure like to know before I just decide to send it back! [:)]

I have a Phoenix Extra 330s that uses 2 servos for the elevator and I don't think my radio can make them work in the right direction. My radio is a futaba 6EXP. Or will it work? Could someone please recommend a good Servo Reverser for me for my elevator that requires 2 servos? please reply "Hulio"

Replace all the lines, make sure the 3rd line (fill line) isn't leaking when under pressure. Adjusted the fill cap to make a tighter fit and everything will seem to be in order. The high speed needle should be a lot more responsive. Hope this helps... [:D]

RE: Nickel-Metal Hidride Battery - discharge
ORIGINAL: GaryHarris Get 4 automobile tail light bulbs and wire them in series with a coat hanger. Youll have to sand the varnish off the hanger in order to get the solder to stick though. Hook up the battery and when the lights start dimming, remove the pack from that 3$ discharger. LOL With cars I used 10 bulbs because I wanted a quick discharge. 4 will be fine for plane packs.
I can't afford new tail light bulbs let alone the coat hanger. Don't have a coat hanger since I can't even afford a coat! Don't know how to solder either. I'd take the bulbs out of my car but I think half of them are burnt out! I'll just stick the NiMH battery in the plane and when it goes dead it will finally be discharged. I'll be out a plane but at least I will have gotten my (Mission Accomplished) of discharging my NiMH battery! [:)]

I think I found the answer on discharging the 6v 1200 mah NiMH receiver battery at a reasonable price (if I do ever decide to use the 1200 nimh battery) The Battery Bug for only $11.95 http://www.maxxprod.com/mpi/mpi-9.html

RE: Nickel-Metal Hidride Battery - discharge
Problem Solved..... I decided not to discharge my 6v 1200 NiMH battery, but rather (discard) it back into the package it came in until someone comes up with a simpler way for me to get it discharged without investing in a discharger. My 600 mah nicad battery seems to be working just fine that came with my cheap futaba 4yf radio. After making 7 flights on my 46 size extra 300s with a 10 oz tank I decided to call it a day. When I got home it read 4.9v's so I turned my radio and receiver on to run the batteries down (as I always do) and it stayed on for 2 hrs and 45 minutes before I decided to call it quits....( I got tired of waiting for it to go dead) before recharging it back up again. While discharging, it seemd to stay at the 4.6v forever and that was with me operating the controls. I could have gotten an easy 10 flights on that one charge with my 600 mah nicads. Why in the world would I even need a 6v 1200 mah NiMH battery in the first place if my 600 mah nicads are giving me so much run time?

If I did it that way the problem with that is, I have a 9.6v 600 mah nicad transmitter battery and a 6v 1200 mah NiMH receiver battery. When the transmitter is dead the 6v 1200 receiver battery wouldn't be.[:o]

RE: Nickel-Metal Hidride Battery - discharge
I don't even know what a resistor is and I'm sure I don't have one laying around. Any time I discharge my nicad batteries I just turn on the transmitter that has a 9.6v 600 mah nicad battery and a 4.8v 600 mah receiver battery and let them go dead before I recharge. Please help for an easier way to get this 6v 1200 mah NiMH battery discharged.
