RE: Pirotti Tuono
ORIGINAL: Alpenglider Hello Tuono flyers! Worke has kept me off doing the maiden on my JPS Tuono [:(] Last night i did the last checks and everything is working fine. I just want to ask you guys where is your center of gravity? Mauro suggest in his manual 15mm in front of the main spar; I have set mine to about 10-11 mm in front of the main spar (landing gear out, hopper full and main tanks filled just a little). Do you think thats OK? Cheers Thomas
I think you should be fine. I found the stock CG (10mm in front of spar i think) a bit nose heavy for my style of flying and went back from there a bit and she flys amazing !

RE: Good sport jet for a fair price ?
the discussion is a bit beyond what i intended. the topic is a high speed aerobatic jet (such as the flash etc) with better cost - it might very well not exist, but its certainly no reaction or easyjet ! [:D]

RE: Pirotti Tuono
i have a P-160SX in mine as of now and it flys great, but could use a bit more power for my style of flying (i like fast aerobatics) the way i see it the 180RX is a bit more powerful than 160SX (about 160-170N Vs. 175N) but the P-200SX (with an added 600g weight penalty) is 230N and it seems the Tuono with its 7L fuel payload can take the extra weight, and if i wanted to keep the AUW the same i could just fuel it 600g of fuel less per every flight. I reckon the P-200SX will fly happily on 6L instead of 7L full tanks. especially since there wont be a lot of full throttle usage. Here it is on P-160SX power:

RE: Good sport jet for a fair price ?
OK i will emphesize that im looking for a high speed high performance aerobatic jet. So far i thought about flash (pricey), bandit (pricey) and Dragon (which is too big to fit in my Toyota Corolla). The reaction looks much more like a floater than high speed high performance machine?

Good sport jet for a fair price ?
Hello guys, im looking for a good sport medium size jet, something like the Ultra Flash or Bandit, preferabely fully composite (as it needs to be tough) for a fair price. I would love an Ultra Flash relaly but the price is steep so im having second thoughts. Does this exist at all ? it seems like the market is lacking in this field. thanks for reading.

RE: Twin Turbine Jets, loosing 1 turbine
ORIGINAL: rhklenke There is information around somewhere of a guy who did an F-18 with a single engine on one side only - no bi-pipe. I don't recall if he tried to angle it a bit to help with the asymmetrical thrust, but the engine and thrust tube were definitely off to one side - not in the middle like a Eurosport. I think the reports were that it flew fine... Bob
Yep, i saw an F4 like this in Germany with my own eyes - flew perfectly well.

RE: Llow time turbines for sale - Beware
ORIGINAL: FalconWings I would never buy a P70, period. I put it in there right on top of Jet Joe and well under a RAM 500. I do hear that JetCat has an Android App that will let you text directly to your ECU to let it know to spool up. Great thing a obout P70 though, you don't need to shut them down, they do it on their own very reliably. Sorry about your issues, been there.
All of the P-70s i owned and seen have been 110% reliable and never had a flame out as long as they had fuel. i wonder why you would find those results.

Larger pipe for FEJ F-15 1:7 / P-200SX
Hello guys, I installed a P-200SX in a FEJ F-15 1:7: I can feel the thrust is not what im usual to with a P-200SX, and i think the pipe sie is limiting the thrust considerabely. Can anyone recommend a better pipe for this jet / turbine combo ? thanks.

RE: What a save !!! (dead stick landing)
ORIGINAL: SCALECRAFT Slope soaring experience also helps preserve the model in dead stick landings/ditching. Steve
Definitely. Personally, im a former UAV instructor and in the UAV training we teach the trainees exactly how to land in engine cut conditions from each point in the pattern, and we practice it many times until its a "no brainer", but - this was quite different: 1. jet wasnt flying in a normal pattern - it was low and fast on D.W 2. pilot (Tal) started a hard bank thus shortening D.W leg, and lowered the gear - before handing Eli the controls 3. These Hawks really dont like to be "pulled" hard. 4. Eli never had any "official" training for these conditions. he just knows this model well (had one before). Overall, a great save and one happy pilot got his model back in 1 piece. Moral of the story: check your fuel tubings. [:D]
