RE: P120SE Flameout Also
OK mr Matt you are correct my freind had shut the turbine off via the trim tab. I talked to bob who point out incorrect failsafe setup. Since follow his instruction and correctly programing the failsafe, 6 new flights with perfect turbine operation. Max temps have been around 675 to low 700's Thanks for the tips and follow up Steve

P120SE Flameout Also
I am flying an ELAN with this turbine 12 flights no problems. ON the 13th flight 4 mins 19 sec, out of a split S then into level flight maybe at a buck 60 or so, flamed out. Dead stick landing was good and we checked the GSU to see what the last conditions were. Last rc cond was RC OFF. Last max temp was 963 C. We restarted the turbine and ran it for a minute, then shut it down and all seemed normal. Any ideas why this could have happened? Steve

RE: Burned Fiberglass - how to fix ?
Fear not !!!! You can turn this into that. Maybe you could graft on parts to replace the burnt part.

RE: YA Starfire II
Andy My Yellow Aircraft manaul says C of G is measured with empty tank and L/G retracted, Location is shown on plans. Caution do not vary from location shown on the plans. My plans show the C/G 1/2" behind the middle former. when I measure my starfire thats about 6 1/4" from leading edge at wing root. That should get you close enough to fly and see how you like it.

RE: Oil mix rate - Jet cat / Artes
I run a bee on 5% and it works great, Starts everytime, never flames out, just works real good. I also asked in the Artes Turbine Forum about oil mixtures, Rhinos. and Falcons should work great on 5% oil. The bee also runs great on 5% oil, But they do recommend 2.5% oil.

Follow Up on amount of oil
Eric/Felipe, This is following up on previous posting on oil mixture for Artes Turbine Engines. My question is for my Bee what would the penalty be in using a 5% mix instead of the recommended 2.5% mixture.

RE: My ass is on fire! YA Starfire
Unfortunately it was power. I guess when your bird is burning power works. CO2 would have been a better choice. Keep your friends close, your enemy's closer, and your fire extinguisher closest of all.

My ass is on fire! YA Starfire
Sad to say we caught this Plane on fire on the first start up. It has a Artes super bee turbine mounted 3/4" from Tams pipe. We got a normal propane start on the way to ramp up the bellmouth seemed to be glowing red and the side of the fuse caught fire. The first fire extinguisher didn't work and by the time we got another it was bad news. Does anyone have the back half of a YA starfire that could be use to make a mold?

Trouble starting Bee with Jr 10sx
I am having trouble starting my turbine with my JR 10sx radio. Now before you ask yes everything is connected correctly as we have used a JR 8103 radio with three successful starts. servo direction is correct , pulse is with in Atres guide line (1900-2200 full stick and 800-1000 down. what happens is - trim up throttle up wait 5 sec no prime activity. or trim up throttle up then throttle down electric motor turns over but of course no start as the pump doesn't run. I have reset the radio programing to default with no mixing and ATV's are 100/100. No F/S as I am using a FM receiver and the radio set in PPM. I would appreciate any assistance I could get to fix my turbine starting trouble. Thank You Steve
