RE: *ASM Cessna 182 (10ft) 30-50cc*
Hi Adrian, the landing lights are from a guy called Ross Mansell,he has a website called aeromodel lighting Lighting for aeromodels, he has lots of different lights, the ones I used are the large heli search lights which are also used for large model landing lights.they come with resistors for either 4.8 or 6v, you need to solder them to the fly leads, I use an electronic engine kill switch to switch them on and off,I will take some photos of them on to show you how bright they are when I get home on Friday.A guy in our club made me a nose leg from solid bar , much stronger thanks. the Website for the lights is Lighting For Aeromodellers. ,

RE: *ASM Cessna 182 (10ft) 30-50cc*
Hi Stewb,Paul's workshop is near my house, havn't been to see it yet though.Profmb we fly in a public park which we have a strip done and it is has flags at each corner, lots of run off room if you get it wrong, down side is you have to be carefull of the general public but they do tend to keep away from the flying area. RE: *ASM Cessna 182 (10ft) 30-50cc*
Hi Guys, glad to see this thread is still going, had about ten flights with mine now,crrc55 twin pulls it around with no trouble, the only cooling holes i have is where the 2 exhaust pipes come out underneath and i have also cut out to vents in the side of the cowl and then covered them with alu mesh ,i got some landing lights from Aeromodel lighting which i can recomend, really bright even on a sunny day,im just waiting for some decent weather now to get it back in the air.

RE: Black Horse Landscape
Hi Andi, thanks for the reply.your right about where the elevator push rods join, that would not hold for long,i was thinking of putting 2 servos on the elevator, one on each rod.yours is looking good i like the idea of the plugs for the wing lights, hope to sort some new rods this week. Ian

RE: Black Horse Landscape
Ive come across my first problem, the control rods for the elevator bind really bad in there tubes, ive tried running light oil down the tubes but that didn't work ,im going to try and sand the push rods down a little to see if that helps, if not i will replace them with some that have a sligtly smaller diameter. i thought it was going too well. RE: Black Horse Landscape
Started the Landscape today, got the wings done.i went with the hardware that came with it apart from the machine screws the connect the clevises to the horns, changed them for stainless as the supplied ones are made of really soft metal, ive fitted nav lights in the wings as BH made provisions for them,i just wish they had not glued the clear covers on as you have to be real carefull removing them because the plastic is thin.im fitting the motor as per instructions as the marking on the firewall are the measuments for the DLE30 that im using so its just a case of drilling where the marks are and bolting on, it will be at an angle of around 45 degrees.this is a fast build as ther is no gluing, the wings bolt on as do the tail planes which also slide on an alloy tube as per wings, all the cintrol surfaces are pre hinged apart from the rudder which connects via a long rod that feeds in from the top of the fin, there is plenty of room in the fus to work in,one servo for elevator one for rudder and one for throttle.i will try and post some photos. RE: Black Horse Landscape
Picked the Landscape up today,no quality issues at all, looks really nice and it will be a quick build too. by the look of it,most of it bolts together, the only glueing is cosmetic and the rod that goes through to hold the rudder in place.happy days

RE: Black Horse Landscape
Hi Paul, thanks for looking.I was a bit puzzled with the bit about the cowl and the so called marks that you have supposed to have done.still it does look a straight forward and a fairly quick build.i will get mine ordered this week even though i said im just flying this year and not building anything else as ive only just finnished my ASM Cessna and only flew it once, but i seen tthis and thought ive got a DLE30 doing nothing so here we go again. Ian.

RE: dx7, dx7s, and receiver problems
Hi Justin, what i found with the failsafe is that if you bind the rx and then have to reverse the throttle servo ,when it goes into failsafe the throttle will go to fully open, you have to re bind it after you have reversed the servo. Ian.

11x zero
Anyone had trouble with getting a recomended range check with a spektrum AR6020 rx,i get 15 paces then its out of range, its fine with the Ar6 rx the one without the remote and its fine with th 7+8 channel rx's it just doesn't like the 6 with the remote which i find strange because its all dsm2 and dsmx stuff,JR say it is compatible with all dsm2.
