RE: Hostetler 33% Decathlon
evening gents, i've been following discussion over the past year without much input as my interest have wained to a bigger project. If you remember from pages gone by, I'm building an RV10 w/ my father and she finally flew on Saturday! I'll post some video if I can figure out how to do it. below is a photo of the maiden lift off. looks like everyone is doing well and still flying their SDs (or soon will be again, marcus). I hope to have some time soon to finish mine as my builder didn't work out. It's kinda funny how I was intimadated by this project and pawned the build off to someone else. meanwhile I'm building a 200 mile an hour airplane and didn't hesitate to jump in it for a spin after completion . anyway, my SD builder did build the wing halves (mostly) so I'll begin the fuse before it begins to get warm again here in TN. hope all you guys are ready for this season, spring is almost here! have a good one...
ORIGINAL: rctom
ORIGINAL: icrashbipes rctom, are these currently in stock? (540V2)
No, the first batch sold out in almost no time. The second batch (bigger) is the victim of production scheduling. Sukhois and Extra 41% have been in front of Edges on the production line. They are just now starting a new batch so it will be at least 2 months to get more. TF
[:o

RE: PERRY SWAP MEET
Shalimar Hobbies had 22g MPI MAXX extentions NIB for $2.27. Didn't matter if they were 12" or 36" all were 2.27, when you regularly pay 7.99 for a 12"extention this was the buy of the show. I bought $100 dollars worth. I'll have extentions for the next 3-4 years... WE got rid of most of our stuff. Also brought back a Byron f-16 fan jet rtf, cub on floats rtf, Byron F-7, EF little edge, electric seamaster kit, sig ultimate fun fly rtf, EF 74" yak, F-4 phantom fan jet RTF, a 40% pitts and a box full of robart retracts. Great show, but it did seem there was less money being spent than last year. can't wait till next year

Do you pay to get it if you have tables reserved? Someone told me they were charging entry fee this year (and last) even if you have tables.
ORIGINAL: ED STEFAN You'll see almost everything RC; from boats to cars to rockets, helicopters, air balloons - but mostly airplanes. I'll be at one of the ticket gates. Look me up. I've switched over to Spectrum and love it. Update on my SD, my wing is built and he started on fuse this month. My builder is kinda draggin his feet but I'm cool with it. Good things come to those who wait. Hope I can take delivery of mine early summer then I will race to have it in the air by fall, I still have to cover it and install motor and electronics. Hope everyone is doing well. -Russell

3w's are cheap too[:D]
ORIGINAL: Rush7 Hey Dave have any of you guys given a 3W 55 or that sort a try. It seems that the 3W 55 is quite a bit stronger than the DA. A guy at the club had a Yak(TOC I think) it was a bit heavy on the DA, when he went to the 3W 55 it seemed to have much better pull out.
DA's shipping is a little cheaper than the Vess sight. You will have to call in your order at DA though as they do not have an online store. I ordered a 22B & a 23A for my Brill50 yesterday. RE: Extreme Flight RC Yak 54 - 74 inch!
ORIGINAL: Maudib I just cut 4/40 all thread to teh length of the pushrod needed, then cut a .18 tube about 1" less... apply epoxy to the 4/40 rod 1/2" in from each end... then slide/twirl the tube onto the rod. WHen I get near the opposite end I stop a little before the 1/2" and wipe awau the excess epoxy. Center the CF rid on the 4/40 and let setup... It's a little beavier than titanium ends... but it's strong and cheap... :)
use gorilla glue instead of epoxy, it expands and fills all the threads in the tube. just dont over apply the glue, it will split the cf rod when it expands. plus it's another great use for your gorilla glue. mine is always trying to dry up between hinging applications on new planes.

RE: Extreme Flight 88" - First Photos! Build and Discussion
I just found out today that I will be receiving one of the short list yaks. I'm gonna try the Brillelli 50 if it isn't enough, I've got a zdz60 NIB that is waiting on a 30% Decathlon project that I can use... gonna be a long week
ORIGINAL: T Erickson For those of us on the (hopefully shorter) 88" Extra list, can we assume the same gear as the Yak? It would be nice to start gathering some goodies as budget allows. Hopefully my DA50 w/ KS1060 will be ok. I can see some hs 5955s coming, what size arms will I need? T.
RE: Extreme Flight RC Yak 54 - 74 inch!
I never could get the prop combo worked out with my saito 180. tried a wood pro zinger 18x5, apc 17x4w, apc 18x6w, APC 18x6, APC 18x8. never could hover under 3/4 throttle. by the 4th gallon of fuel I figured i should be getting better perfomance so I went gas. now I get 30 minute flights with unlimited power instead of 9-12 minute flights with no power to spare.
