This is disgusting. Edit: I should give some detail on this. I went onto this very website and noticed a small icon in the lower right side of this website. After doing some digging turns out they own this website. Its nice when they tell you that they are collecting your personal information without your consent and selling it to who knows. Its crap like this that gave birth to antivirus software. This is garbage. I wonder if this type of shit is why my spam box has been flooded with "Ejaculate to impress her" and "Enlargement supplements" and "High quality ROLEX watch replicas" crap lately

RE: LST2 With LRP + hops, Need help on pricing
Hi. Sadly in this hobby and much like a lot of others... you'll NEVER get back what you put into it. Honestly I would shoot for around $350 if you were thinking eBay/Craigslist BUT you might have a better chance by trading your LST2 for something electric. If you do decide to stick with selling it my advice is to take the time to clean up the outside from dirt, oil, grass etc and take some good clear pictures of the truck and would comes with it. That will help buyers be more interested in what you selling. It is kinda sad how the nitro scene has dropped significantly and most of us just dont have the time to mess with nitro anymore [&o] Good luck on what you decide

RE: Does anypone own this 1/5 Monster Truck from Hobbyking?
Ive had to tare this down over 7 times to figure out what was keeping the drive-train from doing its job. Turns out the belt was rubbing the front wall inside of the front diff box. After cutting a chunk out of that and attempting to run it again, the left rear wheel just feel apart, like melting its side wall. NOT EVEN 1 HALF OF A TANK WAS RUN THRU THIS TRUCK. $70+$30 bucks later I installed some 1/5 wheel adapters to fit the HPI 5B (all rear) set of wheels the reat drive shafts feel out of the outside drive cups. I Already had to replace BOTH servos. One want bad so I replaced it with another one and that just so happen to work in the opposite direction as the stock one... I Have had more problems and issues with this truck then buying ANYTHING used off ebay. This truck will be on eBay. i dont care how much i get for it DO NOT BUY THIS TRUCK

RE: Does anypone own this 1/5 Monster Truck from Hobbyking?
Yes the servo went dead right out of the box. I'll have to post pics of the tire. As for the rear drive shafts I took your advice and shorten those before starting the truck, apparently not enough [:@] The only good thing this truck had to offer was the engine. With the 8000rpm clutch spring the engine has great power. But from the factory the belt was rubbing the front diff box... really?[:'(]

RE: Does anypone own this 1/5 Monster Truck from Hobbyking?
After the tare down and rebuild I fired up the truck this afternoon. The truck did seem to get more power as it got a little more broken in but I only put about a half of a tank thru it. The servos stopped turning left and I have no idea why. Atleast if I hit something I would have a clue [sm=confused.gif] The only and main issue i really have as of right now is the tires. From the box I could tell the must have been sitting for awhile because there is kind of a flat spot and as wobbly as they are im not going to bother with trying to balance those out. So I need to see if there is a way to convert the wheel "squares" into the hex system that the 5b (and every clone out there) uses [sm=72_72.gif] Edit: One of the Servos is dead[sm=angry_smile.gif]

Thats what i thought, needing to drill out the small hole in both clutch shoes so the new spring will fit correctly. I spent a little over two hours this morning working on the clutch and re-fitting the engine to the chassis. Aside from taking the stock clutch spring back off and retrying the hpi spring im about to a point where im not buying any more parts till i put a tank thru it and inspect the engine/clutch.[8|]

Is there any trick to installing the 8000rpm clutch spring, I already screwed up one of them[sm=confused.gif] Im still fiddling with the clutch set up, seems like its binding somewhere and since the manual is 60% useful im testing where to put spacers[:-]

RE: Does anypone own this 1/5 Monster Truck from Hobbyking?
killer idea. The upper arms links on the hobbyking version are made out of steel. I just took the rear diff apart to see why the left side inner drive cup comes out easy and the right side stays put. Thought there might be a screw holding the drive cup inside to the gears but there isn't...[&:] I don't think it should be a problem when driving but I'm stuck wondering why one stays and the other doesn't. Aside from that I flipped the bottom piece of the belt cover over so the belt doesn't grind on itself but there it still some tension with the drive system (more then I would like to see) but im assuming the belt will loosen up with the first tank or so. Now the issue was after I had to pull out the clutch assembly the two screws the hold the clutch shoes in place were on WAY to tight and the clutch would of never engaged with the screws like this. It looks like from the factory they had put the screws on so tight they were stripped before i even touched it which then means i had to heat up the whole dam clutch on the stove to get those bolts off.[:@] Next was taking the drimmle to the set screw.... look at the pic. This was behind the brake and needed to be removed in order to take the brake set up off to get access to the clutch (with the engine still attached to the chassis). NOPE, just couldn't come off easy, just had to get stripped on the first turn[&o] *sigh* I have yet to plug the cheap fire hazard of a battery charger that came with the truck into the wall yet and i currently have 7,642 parts on the table behind me... should of just bought the dam redcat dunerunner[&o]

On the first look over, i can tell the motor screws need to be tighten down with locktite. camber needs to be adjusted. not sure if i want to open the front and rear diffs. Aside from the hpi clutch springs it will need to come apart and rebuilt (as already stated)

DDm long life clutch shoes? I just ordered the clutch springs. This remind me of my losi when i had it. I knew the engine had power but couldn't figure out what was holding it back. Switch out the clutch shoes to aluminum, ditched the stock pipe for the " losi ht" pipe and it was a completely different truck after that. Thanks for posting that vid and all the info so far. Your seriously saving those of us interested in this 1/5 MT ALOT of hassle
ORIGINAL: sparky 25 having went to the video link posted earlier in this thread, i was not impressed with the performance of that truck, so i took and fitted a hpi 8k clutchspring to mine from the offset,
Do you have that part number by chance? My truck should be in tomarrow and im not going to bother to fire it up till i do a tare down. This will give me time to order any needed parts like a whole new clutch or just the springs. Edit: found them. Dont know if i should just get the whole hpi high response clutch kit or just the springs
