RE: Strange clevis failure
Dale, has the clevis ever had raw fuel on it. I had an experience a few years ago with a transmitter that accidentally got filled with raw 30%. Before I could get it apart, the plastic around the sticks crumbled and the sticks fell out of the transmitter. 30% nitro will destroy plastic in a hurry. Joe Dunnaway

RE: CARBON VEIL COVERING AND RADIO INTERFERENCE
I've been using carbon veil on my wings for the past 5 or 6 years and never had a problem. The carbon is applied between the foam core and the 1/16th in. sheeting. Joe Dunnaway.

RE: Mystic (new for 2010)
At the Ft. Scott Ks. contest last weekend, Todd was kind enough to let several of us take the Mystic for a test drive. All I can say is, He has really hit on the right combination with this one. It locks on a line very solid and needs very little rudder for anything. It holds it's heading during pushes and pulls and snaps are a breeze. Todd let me fly the last round of the contest with it and the only trouble I had was feeding in corrections that my other plane normally needs and the Mystic does not. :) Thanks for the Fun Todd!!! RE: Designing a new pattern model
Very nice plane Alex. You could get it under easily with a different motor such as a Plettenberg. Did you run a single 4 wire lead back to the elevator servos instead of seperate servo leads? That would be good for 10 to 15 grams. A Jaccio regulator is 15 grams instead of 38 (Not sure it's available where you are). You are close. I'm sure with a little tweaking you will get it under. RE: 2011 Masters Sequences
I believe this document is being revised to take into account the process that the NSRCA will use to change the sequences. The contest board is voting on the rule proposal to allow the NSRCA to control the sequences. The final vote should be in by Oct. 1st. Joe Dunnaway

RE: JR Servo's - What's Next ?
Vince, If you replace the gears with the nylon gears on the link I gave you, Don't try to replace the final output gear. It is a pain to remove and you will likely screw up the pot. (Guess how I know.) :) Joe

RE: Radio problems
At the time I was running a YS and a Jaccio regulator. I agree that the Electric setup pulls a lot less than the YS did, but the regulator still has to drop the voltage quite a bit in the 5.1 v version. I know it was going into failsafe because I was running a JR 921 and if it loses power the Led's flash when the power comes back. They were flashing when I landed and the regulator was very hot. Joe

RE: Radio problems
I had something similar happen to me when I switched to 2.4GHZ. I didn't crash but discovered that my regulator was dropping out because it was getting hot. I was using a 5.1 v regulator and a 2s lipo. The regulator couldn't dissipate the heat from dropping the voltage down from 8v down to 5.1v. I replaced the 5.1 v regulator with a 6 v regulator and haven't had a problem since. I'm not saying this is your problem, but it's something to check. Joe Dunnaway

RE: 2011 pattern sequences, finalized?
Joe, Almost every proposal will pass the initial vote but I agree with you that it will probably pass. I think the only reservation that I have is that I would like to see a procedure in place that will handle creating the sequences and getting feedback from the pattern community before changing the sequences.
