RE: Extreme Flight 88
after closer inspection it seems part of the wing gave way instead. Still don't know what happened to the wing bolt. Pretty much impossible to tell what damage occured in the air and what was impact damage. I aways do them up pinch tight. Never had this happen before. I spoke to west london models and they were great. They're hooking me up with an extra (no yaks in stock) at cost price. Gonna miss the yak though.

RE: Extreme Flight 88
well after about 20 flights, my Yak went in this morning. wing bolt failed somehow on the third flight and the wing parted company with the rest of the model. complete write-off unfortunately. I've contacted the distributor in the UK about this but they don't seem willing to discuss the situation. so disappointed. loved this plane.

RE: Discontinued .25 FX?
ORIGINAL: draftman1 yeah me too. nobody knows whats going on yet. that 35 is nice but it wont go into a combat plane that has a 30 max. I hope o.s. will be smart and have an improved 25 to 30 ax. i hope they dont make a 20 to 24 ax, that wouldnt help much unless it had the power of a 25 or larger. I would hate to have to go to a different engine for combat. the o.s.'s just start and run and stay running. I tried the mag 28, I wasnt too impressed. has anybody tried th thundertiger of that size?
I had a thundertiger max 25 in my gremlin. absolute nightmare. difficult to start, and between us me and my father have never had trouble starting engines in 30 years experience. plus in it's 5th flight the silencer broke. I gave up on it and put an OS25 FX in. Never going back! absolutely beautiful engine, starts first or second flick and is powerful and reliable. Will have to buy a couple more of these before they disappear.

RE: Futaba 10C is HERE!
got my 10c a couple days ago, and had my first flights with it yesterday in a gremlin combat bought. I am loving this radio, especially the FASST system. Everything is smoother and more responsive. The radio itself is very easy to navigate, very easy to assign mixes etc to different switches. my only gripe with it is the 2.4ghz module. I wish they had oriented the arial throught the hand rather than away from the back of the transmitter. makes it bulky to store. overall though, it's an excellent radio! [;)]

RE: Official Aerobird Swift Thread
launching the swift can be a pain in the butt if there is no wind. i've ended up trimming the grass for 20' or so after launch sometimes, as there is no lift until it hits some kind of decent airspeed. this thing doesn't like doing aeros. on my last flight I got it to roll without losing any altitude, and thought "Cool, lets do that again!". this time though, 100' up, it dived when it go to the top of the roll (inverted) and it lost 100' in about 2-3 seconds. nothing I could do. it wouldn't roll out of the dive, and the elevator made no difference either. I've had a go at repairs, but it doesn't fly straight, it's horrible to fly now. I have moved on since, as I fly I/C planes too. now flying an Art-Tech Edge 540 and the PZ Spit. Both are great, but the Swift was a great starting point for me.
