RE: Tomahawk L39 installation of equipment
Hi Carlos No I did not make the canopy scale, however I make it open by the original hatch. I also insert extra supports to make it more stable I suspect that there is quite some stress on the canopy under flight due to it’s size. I did the same on my SM Viper and it worked very well. Here is what I did, see pics: I throw in some extra pics there for inspiration and motivation[:D] Best regards Dag

RE: Tomahawk L39 installation of equipment
Hi Carlos I'm the owner and builder of the L-39 in [link=http://jetsofnorway.no/forum/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=415]Jets of Norway[/link] forum page, glad you found my tread helpful. If you have any question about the build, I can take more pictures and post here. I still have some installation left before it's ready for maiden. Regards Dag

RE: Futaba Fasst & Carbon Fiber (Yellow Twin F-18)
I almost lost my Ultra Lightning 14 days ago in a complete lock out situation. The receiver was placed on its dedicated place at left side on mounting plate with antennas placed with one pointing backwards and the other pointing straight up 90 degree from the other antenna. The plane is pretty loaded with CF in nose section so I insured that the antennas was as far away from the CF areas as possible, that didn’t help much . The plane was a bit far out from me when it went in lock, but not that far away. Luckily the plane went in FS with all control surfaces in neutral so the plane banked very slowly to left and toward the ground, after a few seconds when bank angel was about 50 degree I started to gain control over the plane again and I got it home in one piece. I have now replaced the receiver with a new one on a different location and placed the antennas different, the receiver is elevated up from the mounting plate and one antenna is going down and out of the airframe pointing backwards and the other up in the canopy. No problems so far, however I don’t dare to fly the plane too far away yet in fear for a new lock out situation, it’s very frustrating to be a spectator to your own plane. I believe receiver and antenna positions is very important in planes with much carbon.

RE: Classic vs Ultra Lightning
Hi, I have tested my UL for some flights now and the plane performs excellent with P200.[:)] However, the UL is a glider, has anyone tried to setup with crow mix? I just wonder if elevator needs to be mixed (up or down) together with the crow mix

RE: New Tomahawk Huge L-39 Not long now!
Hi I planning to put a P200SX in mine so I added two extra one litre tanks, I plan to use one for fuel and one for smoke. 6.8 litres should be enough for a 8-9 min flight I think

RE: Castle 100 ICE ESC and 2842 3200KV MB1 settings
Hi Greg Thanks for answer. When I checked the spec on this motor [link]http://www.espritmodel.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=12322[/link] it says that motor timing is between 20-25 deg. I don't know if that may be the "Custom 20" setting? I think I will use low timing for a start for safety

EV5D-5U-PRO question
I have a Airpower EV5D-5U-PRO-ST that not showing pressure in the display. The valve works perfect in manual mode, but since the pressure show 0 PSI the failsafe steps inn so I can’t use it with my transmitter. The breaks works perfect with my transmitter, even with pressure showing 0 PSI Look at picture; that is what my display shows with pressure in my air tanks. Is there any fault with my valve? Or am I missing something?

RE: Another Skymaster Viper
The rudder is no problem to get 45 mm, but the aileron seems to be more difficult. It stops at 16mm downward on both sides. I probably have to dremel the edge underneath to get more throw.

RE: x-treme jets Dragon
The quality it's fine, and its seems to be a solid plane. DREMEL its a must for building ( as always [:)]) All parts fits nice together and the finish is very good. However, most of the hardware was missing when I got it[&o] but Anton sent me a hardware package with express so now everything is fine. I using a JETCAT P120SE turbine and hope that is enough ( the plane is little bit heavy) And I will have to put a lot of counterweight in the nose; CG is now 9 cm behind. Some more pics

RE: This will be my first EDF (F-20)
I talk to mr. Dirk at Airpower today and confront him with the underpowered F-20 I got. He said that he had sold 400 pcs of this aircraft and never got the feedback that it was underpowered. So when I told him that I barely was able to take of on 150meter hard surface runway and stalled on climb out, he reply with this: We can't understand your accident reason I reply: It was underpowered! He reply Nope, It flies on the video on my site! [:@][:@][:@][:@][:@] What more can I say? It’s not easy to argue with person like that!

RE: This will be my first EDF (F-20)
Thanks for reply guys. I bought the complete package from here: http://www.airpowernet.com/twe/product_info.php?products_id=562 After what you are saying I got the wrong setup here. I thought this was the appropriate setup for this plane after watching this video http://www.airpowernet.com/upload_img/video_product/F20PRO.wmv The motor, fan, battery and ESC are still OK after the crash. Which of them should I replace to get more power and from where can I buy it? If you got any suggestions for a new EDF plane where I can use my 70mm setup please comment. Maybe give the EDF a second chance [;)]

RE: This will be my first EDF (F-20)
Well, I used almost 150 meter of runaway and the climbing angel was probably less than 10 degrees. It really struggles to reach 20 meters and when I had to turn the plane back towards me it just stalled out. The plane never got the speed needed for flying. My setup was: • AirPower OM480-2350Kv Out-runner Motor x 1 • AirPower AP700DF 70mm Ducted Fan Unit x 1 • AirPower 4s1p-2200-14.8V Battery x 1 It really sucks when this happens but this is a [:@] part of this hobby.
