RE: HK-450GT CCPM Alloy T-Rex compatible - Part III
ORIGINAL: mnemennth 'tis but a scratch! www.youtube.com/watch But seriously; both my HK450GT and my Hausler have seen as bad and I've rebuilt. Though, honestly, it did help that I had like 6 spare Hausler chassis complete at the time. If that happens to my HDX450 I'll cry. No, seriously. And there's nothin' worse than watchin' a fat man weep. On a side note; I have 2 unpainted Fusuno canopies that should fit that. I found them on clearance online described as for "Vision 500". I figured I'd use them on my HDX450 to get the extra room for 6s or 8s batteries and a HV setup with a more "wraparound" look. When they got here, I found they were for a Vision 50; my wife suggested I should tack them onto the back of the house for a toolshed. mnem I could still plant them in the back yard as "teepees" for the kids to play in...
Yeah that clip is so funny. Luckily Ive never had a crash that bad but the end result is the same. Pull em down and rebuild. The only difference is how many parts you have to buy. Im sure it would be cheaper to buy a new kit.

Only ordered a tail holder and a tail boom holder as I have Align and Tarot stuff to make up the rest. Also picked up upgrades for the Mcpx BL from my LHS. Head, tail holder, solid boom and swash. And a new motor for the Nano. This is the second one Ive had fail. And to round it out ordered one of those cheap FBL heads from miracle Mart. Had my kids over this weekend so missed a flying day with the guys from the LHS. They had 3 bad crashes that were unexplained. Im thinking the substation next to the field might have something to do with it. This is a pic of what a thundertiger x50e Titan looks like when it goes in hard. I saw it in the shop this morning and it was in 2 plastic bags. A complete write off.

RE: HK-450GT CCPM Alloy T-Rex compatible - Part III
Hi all, just back from a 2 week trip away with work and finally have the energy to post. Been lurking while away and trying to keep up with the goings on. Didnt get much flying in apart from a couple of indoor flights with the Nano and a few with the Mcpx BL when I got off work early. Oh and one crazy attempt at flying the Nano in a garage after having a few to many beers at the pub. Man its hard to hover in a small space when your reflexes are shot. But it can be done but take my advice. Call it quits and dont try your luck by attempting inverted. @ Jonesy. Thanks for posting the pic of the skids. Wow is all I can say. Looks like you are having a few issues with the build. Who would have guessed that the Tarot kit would have so many faults. Guess if I ever go down that path I would get the HK kit seeing as most of the parts need swapping or else just get the Align to start with . @ Brian. I think the mod needs to do a bit more flying and a bit less touring round the country side. Glad your living the dream. @ Edmond. Glad your heli is back in one piece and in the air. Yeah I should always fly 2 mistakes high but wheres the fun in that. @ Simon. Since spring has sprung you should have a lot more videos. I see you are setting me some new challenges. I can see a few rebuilds coming up. @ mnemennth and Ddaddy. Maybe it was my long work hours but I dont think I understood much of what you were saying. Just glad when I turn my DX6i on ity works. @ Kozzy. Sorting through the parts this weekend. Will PM you the details. Hope your luck is improving with those helis. @ All. Hope you get some flying in this weekend. Im off to pick up some upgrades for the BL.

RE: HK-450GT CCPM Alloy T-Rex compatible - Part III
Hi guys, well I finally got around to maidening my Pro this afternoon.A lot of surprises but didnt crash so thats a bonus. Had a lot of expo on it and really noticed the difference compared to the GT. It was so docile it wasnt funny. Had a few problems, the main one being not enough pitch. Had to have the stick almost 3/4 up to even hover. When I got home and put a pitch guage on it I found that at centre stick it had -3.5 ° pitch. Dont know how that happened as Im usually so careful setting them up. Wound out the links about 2 turns and now its spot on and swash is level. Readjusted the settings to get 10° pitch and 8° on Ele and Ail so all set for another try tomorrow, weather being good. Apart from the pitch problem it seemed to be smooth and stable so I think Im going to like it.
ORIGINAL: sgbfly No, it's not you mate. It also a little strange the people who insist there is no issue with the latest firmware. If I was to make such a bold statement I would support it probably with a video and try and offer reasoning.
The thing I find interesting is that the problem varies between helis. Mine pitches up way less than yours and some others hardly get bothered. Maybe its because I dont fly as fast as you into the wind but I have cheaper, slower servos as well so maybe thats why. Anyway I hope they sort it out soon or else the Hobbymate will be going on mine for a test.

Hi guys, its been interesting conversation here thats for sure. Welcome back Rob, glad you could drag yourself away from your other hobby. Nice heli as well, even though its got a few extra bits on it. Glad to see you had a good time Edmund. Some video would be great. Thunderstorms rolling in here now so no flying for the next few days. Think I might stay away from RCG for a while after starting a slanging match over something as simple as a cable tie. Those guys honestly need to get a life.
ORIGINAL: sgbfly Hi Guy's! Bad luck on the crash kozzy. I love Ingleburns closing comment! Speaking of crashes. I repaired mine yesterday. I've gone for a simple colour scheme to see if that helps with the FFF ele bug in Tarot FW v3.5. Actually I've tried better radial bearings (Align HS1032T) in the grips and tighter genuine RJX dampers but I'm not holding my breath! A couple of pics... Simon
Yeah Ive always heard that red goes faster so going with the white might slow it down. Just a thought Simon. As yours is the worst heli affected with the FFF bug, do you think it has anything to do with the HK head? Mine is not to bad now but I think Im reacting before it occurs by keeping a touch of forward Ele on it.

RE: HK-450GT CCPM Alloy T-Rex compatible - Part III
ORIGINAL: Kozzy_98 Hey everyone! My flying streak with the #2 came to an end today! Was a typical beginner crash and had a blade strike, while landing a tad on the tail. Result = Stripped main gear, bent tail boom, bent flybar, busted main blades and thats about it. Main shaft hasn't bent, which is lucky. And as for the feathering shaft, I have absolutely no idea, but I don't think theres any damage to that either. Luckily, no damage to the fragile HXT900 cyclic servos as they are a pain to remove and install. My #1 helicopter is starting to frustrate me! Even with the gains down to the low 50s on a Spektrum radio, there is still a wag. I recall that someone said something about the tail servo and how far up the servo arm the ball link is attached to. Tail servo is a HK933MG servo, gyro is a HK401b. The beast helicopter is a frustrating build too. Upon realising that the belt was in the wrong direction, I flipped the belt and it was slipping everywhere. Changing the belt tension didn't help either. Upon realising the belt was dead, I decided to replace the belt. So I found a belt in the box that Phil gave to me. Silly me didn't check its length, and when I mounted the tail back on the tail boom, I realised that the belt was way to long, presumably for a 500 size heli. Oh well, my mistake! In my previous big order from HK, I placed an order for a Phoenix flight sim dongle. Suprise suprise, it WORKS! At least with phoenix v3.0p. Don't worry, I'm not going to give up! The satisfaction from flying one helicopter through 6 lipos in a row without crashing beats anything else!!!
Sorry about the crash but everyones been there, done that. All part of the learning curve. I wouldnt be surprised if the main shaft and feathering shaft have some damage so I would pull them and make sure. Better to replace if any doubt. As for #1 get rid of the gyro and like Jonesy said, pull the crashed one off and try it. Give up on them and try a LH GY520. The belt shouldnt slip in the beast so make sure that the gears on either end arent the problem, they might be slipping on the shaft. Its always a good day when you fly all your batteries without a crash. Think Im due for one real soon.
ORIGINAL: ahamay Got the TGY-306G installed into the tail on my new Tarot 450 PRO V2 FBL build this morning. Servo looks solid. It's nice and fast and SUPER loud. Would have been nice if it came with a round wheel servo horn as well but a bit of trimming on the standard horn sorted that. I've got some wiring to tidy up and some final pitch settings to check and it's ready for a maiden hopefully on Sunday. If anyone is interested in the specs for this build it's got the following config: Tarot 450 PRO V2 FBL barebones kit from oomodel ZYX v1 (not running 3.5 firmware) Hitec HS-5065MG on cyclic TGY-306G on the tail Spektrum AR6115e rx Turnigy H2218 Motor with 13T pinion (This is the red motor with the silver can, 3550kv) Turnigy Plush 40amp ESC CF Blades Standard in the kit Nano-Tech 2200mah 3S 35-70c Really looking forward to flying this one. If it's a screamer i'll drop a 13t pinion into my other 450 PRO as well. My mcpx has been out of action for months and I have some parts arriving today to freshen it up. I think when they get to a point when they need major repairs and lots of parts replaced it's better just to buy a new one. Hope everyone gets some flying in this weekend. I'll be out of the Phoenix Fly In, unfortunately during the day on a weekend I'm too busy. Jonesy
THat really does sound like a screamer Jonesy.
