RE: Mick Reeves models and accessories
ARUP, Thanks! That is just what I need. Would anyone know what size I should order for a 1/4 scale Sopwith Pup?

RE: Mick Reeves models and accessories
Abufletcher that was a great lead! Really good information. I also found some video tutorials on stitching the BUSA PUP on you tube. Look under "BUSA SOPWITH PUP BUILD VIDEO". It is under the name 1964IAIN'S RC SITE. He builds the 1/4 scale Pup step by step with some mod's. Thanks again.

RE: Mick Reeves models and accessories
I AM BUILDING THE 1/4 SCALE PUP and ran up on this thread while looking for what size eyelets or grommets to use for the side stitching. Could you tell me what size you used and if there is a cheap setting tool on the market? If you didn't use a setting tool, I would really be interested in how you did yours. I have never worked with them before so any direction you can offer is greatly appreciated. Much Thanks.

That is the most beautiful build table I have ever seen! If you can build planes with the same skill [X(], I scared! LOL!

RE: TiteBond
Doog-meister hit the nail on the head with his advise. I also forgot to mention that in my case, CA fumes burn my eyes and nose and give me flue like symptomes. The fumes linger around the shop in the winter. You really need to vent your work area when you use CA. [:@]

RE: TiteBond
The Honey colored glue is probably Epoxy if it's around the Fire Wall. That's what I use to fuel proof that whole area with. Usually Z-Poxy. Just a light coat to cover the whole engine compartment. I try not to use any Epoxy around the tail area. It can add weight faster than you might think. This is just My opinion and I'm sure there are many other points of view. All I can say is "it works for Me".[8D]

RE: TiteBond
Don't use TiteBond on the Fire Wall or to Join wing halves! Use EPOXY for that.

RE: ESM Fairey Swordfish
After reading my post to you I realized I should have said "epoxy the two wing sections to the mid wing section. This, and the bolt holding the mid wing section onto the wire tripod will keep the top wing on. Use enough epoxy to do the job but don't over do it [ more is not better ] , then clean up the overflow with a towel or rag dipped in alcohol. Stand the wing ON END OVERNIGHT. Don't forget, use those flying wire's. Tony.

RE: ESM Fairey Swordfish
If I understand you correctly, this is what I do. It's safer to epoxy the two wing section's together. It may be harder to transport but your wing's won't come apart. The flying wire's are also important to use. They are a functional part of the wing not just for show. Hope this help's. A really good person to advise you on these ARF's is Ty at Ty'splanes.com. I have called and talked to him. You will find he is an upstanding guy who knows his stuff and he also make's some great Add on part's . I got the torpedo upgrade kit from him and the cockpit kit for the Swordfish, not to mention a bunch of other goody's for my other ESM plane's. Tony.

RE: new covering
They work great at the flying field to. I hang one out the back of my cap and wipe my face with one and the Bug's keep away from my face. Sounds odd but it work's. No more slapping bugs out my eye with one hand while trying to fly with the other.

RE: 1/3 flybaby bibe
Been thinking about getting the BUAS 1/3 scale Fly Baby. Have watched a fellow club member build his and I am sold! He did discover a few minor issue's with some of the wood [ some to short and a few mis-steps in the directions which he reported to Dave at BUSA ] but that was about all. Thought you guy's might like to see some shot's. Flying a DLE 30cc gas on her. He custome made the landing gear. Tony.

RE: ESM Fairey Swordfish
Have to cut down the leg's for two of the crew before I glue them on. I have no Idea what the flying wire configuration is. The directions don't tell me much and I have never installed flying wire's before. Any input you all might have would be a big help. Hope to maiden her when the weather breaks. We have had snow here in West Virginia for the past three months. Will post a flight report when I maiden her. Tony.

RE: joining alu tube?
I use a product called DURA FIX. It's really easy to work with just a propane tourch. I have made muffler's, motor mount's, exsuast extensions, reinforced landing gear's and a bunch of other stuff. Check out their web site at DURAFIX.COM. and watch the videos or go to YouTube and watch from there. I think you will like it. My club member's didn't believe you could work alu without a Tigwelder. They believe it NOW. Tony.

RE: The perfect engine for a 1/4 scale Spacewalker?
I am flying an Aero 28cc Gas in my Seagull 1/4 scale Space Walker with Jtech style wrap-around muffler. Didn't need any nose weight. She will do any manuver I put Her thru. Even hang on the Prop. The Aero 28cc is one heck of a motor and cheaper than the Zenoah 26cc. It has a rear carb and weigh's less to. Didn't even have to cut the Cowl except the bottom for the exuast pipe's. Tony.
