RE: Complete new CDI - website open
This one named EE-19 core and placed in power supply module. You only need ATX named module, this is old generation of power supplys. Most of transformers calculated as 220V input and ~8V output with 27-30KHz frequency to supply 5V stabilizer in standby mode. You can use it as a HV transformer in a very good project http://www.dos4ever.com/flyback/flyback.html

RE: Complete new CDI - website open
And it was yellow color coded toroid? The best way I think is to use the E-core from the old comp. power module (standby transformer without rewinding)

Hi Gr.. The yellow code of T50-6 means “Iron Powder Cores, not ferrite. You cannot use it in HV converter as a transformer

Hi Gr. This is an output from MURATA catalog. No any differences, only package. May be the first one is a factory defect.

RE: Complete new CDI - website open
Hi Rob! Is it new HEX file? As I remember pin.9 is a HV generator? What is R2 connect to what? Is it RESET? Is X1 the same or we don't need it? Is R3 and R14 really 33k may be better ~680R? BT151 is SCR, may be mistake. And what do you think: can I run ignitioncoil from 8VDC(2LiPo) or we need strongly 12V? Sorry for frash, english not so good. BR Iura.

If you are talking about the self oscillation transformer, I agreed with you. What kind of information you need and what was the problem with schematic?

RE: Complete new CDI - website open
Ok! I am not about cdi tci it very good, I am about the engine. The real RPM ~ 10000, not more. My be better to create one example curve in range 0-10000 RPM and then try to experiment with any RPM points. About HV boards: we have too many schematics, and sometimes preparing one and talking about another. Self oscillators is too difficult to tune (for me), in more time it depends on transformer quality, that in our case it not so high. I think better to use the PIC’s internal generator (pin.9) and use a standby transformer from old ATX comp module (for ex. EE19) as a HV trans. In original ATX it convert 220AC into ~8AVC, so we can use 2 LiPo as a DC source with a good power consumption. (this is only my ideas and now I trying to realize it in a hard).

RE: Complete new CDI - website open
Hi Rob. Some questions about output: RB0: is 82.5us is a standard timing of a hall sens or it depends on a time that magnet going thru the hall? RA3: don’t understand that is it end when it goes from low to high? RB3: we need to stop the PWM during the SCR is high to prevent the SCR damage. My be better to see the output between 2 pulses of a hall? BR IURA

I think you need to check hall sens:it must be TTL effect. Then try to shield hall sens wires and if it possible DC-DC con.May be HV tension on a cap is too much?

Hi John. from my experience can tell you that F628A is very unstable PIC and I have same problems with .HEX in this project. So I went back to F84a and made my DC-DC con. around 555 timer. It was 3 year ago and for today it works wary well with my 45cc trimmer conversation. BR IURA.
