RE: Clod Buster Steering
it works like all steering. a servo pushes and pulls the steering linkage. except on the clod there is also a servo and linkage at the rear axle. you need a 3 channel TX and RX if you want individual control. or you can use a 2 channel and a y cable if you want full time 4 wheel steering. I dont know the turning radius. peace

RE: my first clod buster is done
Ok that sucks. How much is a new axle housing? What other parts break alot? Im so used to my Rustler and breaking a part every 5 minutes, but im hoping that crawlers dont break as much since they arent crashing at 50mph. I ordered some integry 55t motors to keep me slow.

stupid 4.8v vs 6.0v question
sorry, total newb question. when shopping for servos it has the ounce/inch listed and it has two listings, one for 4.8v and one for 6.0v. My question is, how do you know wether you have a 4.8v or a 6.0v system? I want to run a tekin rebel 2 with at least a 6 cell battery. Thanks for the help

What Radio should I use
Hi, I was wondering whats the better radio for crawling, the stick kind or the wheel kind? I can either order the "Complete TQ3 System with Rear Steer Installed" from www.thecrawlerstore.com Or I can use my Futaba T7CHP PCM stick radio. I want to be able to have as much control as possible. let me know what you guys think. Also, how exactly does the TQ3 rear steer work? what are the different switch positions and what do they do? Also, if I use the Futaba radio I dont necessarily have to use a futaba RX right? Thanks a lot.

RE: stock TXT run time?
Nitros suck. Buy a bad a$$ dual charger or two and 4 batteries and you can drive all day long. Youll spend just as much in gas, GLOW PLUGS, filters, filter oil, wd-40, etc etc etc then youll get some dust in your engine cause you have been driving around on bumpy dirty ground and stuff vibrated loose. Then youll be like, " Im sad because my truck is really sluggish now". So, youll look in your engine and see its scratched to hell and your not getting compression and then youll be like, "boohoo" and cry. Pretty soon you will be thinking, "i could get a new engine but im sick of tuning and stalls, and im sick of how annoyingly loud nitros are and im sick of cleaning and doing the after run prosses and carrying a crapload of crap with me when i go to drive." then you will realize that you have to refill your tank almost as offten as you would have to change packs and that you really wish you could drive it anywhere you want without pi$$ing off everyone around. Then youll wish you had gone the electric route. Word!

RE: Jeep Cherokee XJ 1:18 Nylint Crawler
Never mind I found it in your other thread. "I got it from Ebay a few years ago for my son. He was into dinosaurs and we rented a Land of the Lost series video (90's version) and they had a commercial for the toys. Of course they weren't in stores, so I found them on Ebay. He has since grown out of that stuff so he let me have it. So for now it's ebay, flea markets, tag sales. I'm even asking all of my friends and familes that have boys around 20 or so. They would have been the right age around 1992 for those toys. Here's a link to some pics of it in stock form: http://f20.aaa.livedoor.jp/~toshimi/mc1797/1812-LandMaster_XJ.htm "

RE: Hirobo XRB PICS!!! and build info.
A few people have had issues with this, not me though. My XRB flys straight. I dont know what your problem is but you may be able to fix it by adjusting your gyro or if you have an aftermarket radio you can mix it out. There are other posts in this thread regarding this problem. My suggestion to any XRB pilot...read this ENTIRE thread and read the manual. And as far as fractured pinion gears and overheating motors, just give it time to cool like the manual sais and you will never have these problems. An overheating motor will feel just like a weak battery, you wont have full rotor control and thats your sign to land it and take a break. Peace B im bouncin

RE: Hirobo XRB PICS!!! and build info.
Hey Woody, it sounds like you got the pitch angles corrected. The low battery does effect the motors and can cause spin, with mine it usually doesnt spin but it becomes impossible to rudder left (or right, i cant remember). Its a good idea to replace the battery when it starts getting hard to clime. Peace B im bouncin'

RE: Hirobo XRB PICS!!! and build info.
Rocko, the engin just pops off. its on with glue and there are two plastic pieces sticking off the dummy engine that go into two holes on the heli. mine came off in a crash. The XRB is alot of fun.

RE: Hirobo XRB PICS!!! and build info.
You need to adjust your pitch angle adjustment screws. youll need to turn them to the right if your heli turns to the right. Its on page 21 of your manual.

mini funtana type or foamy? newbie
Hi all, hope everyone had a happy 4th! I'm looking for an opinion on a first but second plane. Let me explain my situation...about 5 years ago I decided to stop by the model airport just to watch some flying. After awhile I started asking questions...about 20 minutes into it I buy a .40 Trainer (don't remember which) off a guy that just happened to have brought it. Five minutes later I'm plugged in with a trainer cord, he takes the plane off then gives me control. I was flying great (i think i can thank Microsoft flight sim for that) until I tried to land, I was lined up great then about 4 feet off the deck a wing dipped and i lost it and cranked the stick in the wrong direction....straight into the ground. I managed to fly the thing about 7 times over a couple months, but i never was able to land it. Every new crash broke all the previous broken parts as well as new ones. I eventually sold it to a buddy in about 40 pieces. Its still in 40 pieces. Five years later I buy a little blimp, lame. Then I get the Yellow Bee (cheep park flyer), lots of fun but its only one channel i think. Then I get into heli's, buy the XRB SR lama, I've had it about 4-5 months. I am still planning on getting another micro electric heli, but after flying the planes in my sim (Reflex XTR) I really want to get another one. I would like either a foamy or something like a mini katana or funtana i don't know the diff. I can hover these planes in the sim, I prefer the mini katana but i imagine the foamies cost less when you crash, are much easier to fix and fly slower. please give me your opinions on these planes. I can fly and land every plane in the sim including all the jets and large scale planes I've downloaded. The only one i have a problem landing is the Concord, but considering it doesn't have functional flaps or nose its not my fault i cant get it stopped on the runway. I find that the .40 trainer in the sim is much harder to fly then any of the aerobatic planes. So to break it down....i need your opinions on whether to get a foamy or a mini katana or alike. What are the differences between them. would the mini katana do much better in a breeze? I don't know whats available in the mini balsa plane field. Also, do you guys think ill be able to fly? Like I said im pretty good in the sim, i don't crash unless I'm just messing around. I can hover the smaller planes a lot and the Katana S a little. I've got about 15 hours of airplane flight and about 15 hours of heli flight in the sim and 5 months of flying the XRB sr lama (mini heli) every day. Finally, would the electronics from a foamy be interchangeable with the mini katana or funtana? Thats all i can think of for now. Thanks for taking the time to help. -Justin

RE: Heli radio for a plane?
Cool thanks for the info MaMustang! the manual sais that the ratchet helps keep from making unwanted throttle changes when making adjustments to the rudder, when im on my sim flying planes i can see how the ratchet would help in that way. Or at least you would be able to feel if there was a change. But i guess its not a big deal? maybe would help a little when 3Ding a foamy. Anyway Ide rather not have the ratchet when flying heli's and I deffinetly am not going to buy another radio! Thanks again for the help

Heli radio for a plane?
Hi all, I was wondering if anyone is using a helicopter radio for a plane. I have the 7CAP/7CHP and the manual sais the only differance is that one switch is on the other side and that there arent notches on the throttle stick. I was wondering if thes make a big differance or hardly any? The radio has programming for planes. Thanks alot for the help.

RE: Futaba 7CHP
I bought mine new off ebay for $120. It only came with a battery, charger and crystal though, no reciever or servos. I think its a cool radio, i only use it to fly my XRB and my sim since thats all ive got. The manual is really good. its really easy to set up models and you can make changes pretty quick. It also looks cool and has lots of switches ;) theres a couple things that could make it better though, backlite screen for when your flying on the sim in a dark room :) also it should be able to power its self though the USB cable when on the sim. and the final thing is, i fly with my thumbs and the tops of the sticks are too sharp. but thats an easy fix. so anyway, the 9c is alot more expensive then the 7c. i could however see wanting a couple more channels if i had a nitro bird.
