Evo .46 Question
I have an Evo .46 in an Lt-40 right now. The high speed needle valve has no friction and won't stay where I set it. There is a set screw on the needle valve knob, but it did'nt seem to want to hold it still. Anyone else have this problem and how do I tighten it up? When I run the motor and set it right, the needle valve rotates on it's own to the factory stop on the needle valve. (runs a little richer)

C.G. Eaglet 50 Question?
I was given an Eaglet 50 from another member of my flying club. It is in real good shape, only needed minimal repair work done to it. My question..It need to get a fuel tank for it. Any suggestions for a good fuel tank that will fit in it o.k. ? Also, I have an old O.S.40la, Is a .40 size engine too much for this airplane? I have another Eaglet that has an O.S.25 on it and it flies good with that engine just not sure the .40 i have is too much engine for it, or if I need to buy another .25. Thanks for some advice Jag.

GP Stick 40 question?
Hello, My GP Stick 40 has about 20 flights on it now with an O.S. 40LA on it. It flies O.K I have a Supertigre 45 on a Sig LT-40. I know the .40LA would be ok on the LT-40, But would the .45 be a better match for my Stick than the .40la I have on it now? I'm thinking of swapping the engines. Thanks Jag

RE: Real Flight Basic
It wasn't that cheap. If I got ripped off, I'm certainly not alone. I've been trying to get a real flight sim. for two months on ebay. The one I got has a sales tag from extreme rc on it so it 's not pirated. Will any used copies work on another computer? I can't get anything to come up. Does It need a product code key like other software?

Real Flight Basic
I just got my used GP real flight basic yesterday from an ebay auction. Tried to run it but when I put in the disk nothing happens. I have a 6 year old dell dimension e310 computer. Do I need to update my video graphics card to get it to start up? Has anyone had the same problem? Thanks Jag

RE: Flight times?
Thanks for some good replies. I confirmed my own beliefs after 2 flights yesterday with my trusty old sig LT-40. With my new timer running I flew for around 6 min. each flight. I agree with the fatigue factor mentioned. I discovered over the years of flying my worst flight is always the last one of the day. I tend to get real sloppy. Now when I go to the club field and I plan on 3-4 flights, I stop after 2-3 flights and I have had much better days at the field.

Flight times?
Hello everyone, I've got a few 40 size trainers and a 40 size stick that I fly regularly and I notice that I fly for a while and feel like I should start getting ready to land. After landing I go to refuel for another flight and my fuel tank is at least still half full if not more. I bought a stop watch to monitor my flight time. My question? What is a good realistic flight time for a 40 size plane, running around at half to three fourths throttle and still have enough fuel to land? Thanks jag

CG Jr. Tiger
Hello, I was at a swap meet last week and I was looking to replace my CG Eaglet with another one, as it is showing some age. Instead, I found this JR Tiger kit. It's specs are so similiar to the eaglets and being a cool looking low wing plane I decided to give it a try. My question: What can anyone tell me about this kit as I searched the internet and found so little on it. Jag215

RE: ST .45 won't start
Yea, you are probally right. I've been fortunate and haven't had to bench run anything as I haven't had any problems with my old O.S. engines. I've had a Aviastar .53 on the LT-40 for two years now and it really never tuned right so I bought this ST. to replace it. I've gotten some good advice, I'll get it running, but a good bench set-up would probally allow me to get both engines running right. Thanks jag

ST .45 won't start
Hey everyone, just got my new ST .45 and I put it on an old Sig LT-40 yesterday. Tried to start it today to break it in and I could'nt get it to start up. New Glow plug and plenty of fuel coming out of the muffler when I spin it up with my starter. I know it is flooding, So I when I remove the glow plug and drain out the fuel. Put the glow plug back in and it will start to run for maybe 20 sec. at 1/4 throttle. If I bump up the throttle, it dies. I tried to set the high speed needle valve anywhere from 2-4 turns out. Same outcome. I have not touched the Low speed needle yet. (Really don't want to unless it becomes necessary). Lot of variables anyone else have problems with there ST .45 Thanks jag

RE: Aviastar .53 Idle problems
I have an aviastar .53 on a old sig lt- 40 arf. It ran so-so but had a fuel leak in the head. I sent it Sig, got it back, still leaked so I rotated the head gasket and it is O.K. But- It now runs like crap. I will idle, It hesitates a little when I go to full throttle. In flight it will fly the plane, but if you have to do a go around and have to go full throttle it will dead stick. I did mess with the low speed needle valve by accident. Is there a starting point That I should set the low speed needle valve at and adjust from there? Does anyone have a picture of where to file an opening in the carb barrel? Eventually I will replace this engine with an o.s .46. Thanks jag

I got it to run, My electric mentor gave me some suggestions last night and he pointed my in the right direction. I had the esc plugged into the battery slot on the reciever, so I put it in the throttle slot. Motor ran in reverse, crossed the battery wires, now I am in business. Thanks jag

Motor won't run?
I just got a towerpro motor/esc combo and installed it on my slowstick. I have a good fully charged 3s/1100mah lipo, and i am getting continuity between all my connections. I am using a skysport 3 ch. radio with no throttle trim available and it is all the way down. I plug in as instructed and get a tone from the motor, but nothing else happens. (no more tones) How can I program this combo to work. I have also tried with the throttle all the way up like the instructions said that came with the esc, nothing happened also. any help appreciated thanks jag

RE: Aviastar Yay or nay
I know this is an old thread, but I am having a problem with my .53 and I need some help. It was running o.k., but the head was leaking fuel. I sent it in to sig and they repaired the head. Today I tried to fly it again and it did'nt go so well. Nothing serious, (a few dead stick landings), It would idle and with some adjustment go to full throttle. I was flying and tried to land and I decided to do a go around and it would sputter out when I advanced the throttle and the engine would quit(twice!). It isn't transitioning to full throttle from idle with any consistency. I messed with the needle valve for a while and called it a day before I ruined my plane. My question, What carb. from another company will fit my aviastar .53? It seems other people are having a better experience by changing the carb on these engines to get them to run more reliable. I'd rather order a new carb. than fly like I was today. It's on a LT-40 with an 11x6 prop.

ESC question
Hello everyone, New to electrics and I am having multiple issues. I have an Ultra Stick 25e with 1 flights on it. I have an e-flight 25 on it with a 12x8 prop, 3s 4000mah lipo. After my maiden flight of about 15-20 minutes I started to lose significant power in the air. I brought it back in and noticed the battery had swelled up. I let the battery cool down, lowered my prop size to a 11x7. Problems: My battery will not take a charge (It reads 11.07v right now) and I bought my equipment 2 years ago and I don't remember what ESC. I have in the plane. I took it out and it has no markings. Is there a way to find out an ESC rated amperage. I want to make sure I put a large enough speed control on the plane, (50Amp). I have a feeling I didn't go high enough amps on my speed control. Any help appreciated Thanks

RE: Aviastar Yay or nay
I have been flying for many years now, all trainers with .40 size engines, so the jump up to the .53 was an experience for me. I have a 11x6 on the .53 now. Would the 11x7 be a better choice for my engine/Aircraft combination.

Eaglet or PT-20
I have an Eaglet that I built 15 years ago or so and It never really flew too well. It has been crashed and repaired many times and is probally alot heavier than it should be. I am looking to put the engine (OS 25fp) and radio into something else. The age old question, which kit do I buy. Is a PT-20 with a little larger wing any more stable than my eaglet was? I am pretty much either going to try another Eaglet, a PT-20 or a LT25. Cost is an issue as the lt-25 is a bit more expensive than the other two kits. I'll throw it out there for some opinions Thanks jag

RE: Aviastar Yay or nay
I recently replaced an old FP 40 with an Aviastar 53 on my LT-40. Today I finally flew it. Wow! What a difference in power. The LT-40 took off in about 1/3 of our runway when it use to take almost all the runway area with the fp40. The fp40 would fly the plane, but this .53 made a big difference in the LT's capabilities. Couple of problems I need address on the engine. I had to add a lot of nose down trim to the airplane (all I did was swap the engine from a good trimed plane and it seems to balance O.K.) and the engine did not seem to transition well from low power to full throttle. It seemed to hesitate or "Burp" abit before the rpm's came up. Didn't quit on me which was obviously a good thing, even though I though it was going to dead stick a couple of times when I changed throttle positions. Any suggestions. Thanks jag

Slow stick bent prop shaft?
Hey everyone I need some advice. I bent the prop shaft on my slow stick motor. I bent it back to somewhat normal and put on a new prop, but it flutters out of balance too much. The motor is still good. It is a 370sd mo.4 66t gear on it. Can I just get e replacement prop shaft somewhere? I don't think a new motor will help because it will probally just be the motor without the prop shaft. I am thinking of just buying another slow stick kit for parts. Would that make the most sense? Thanks Jag.
