RE: Proper Motor Break-in
for those of us that have a car or truck and only a car or truck, what do we use to run just the motor at 2 volts?

RE: are xmods worth it
depends on what you are into. i have an X-Mode, i love it. Have loads of fun playing with it, and it is great fro those rainy days. I just pull the cars out of the garge, lay down my pvc pipe track and me and the kids do laps for time. great family fun. But we also enjoy bashing in the backyard with our 1/10's as well.

RE: Gone to crap
I think i might be the only one to reply to the side note I have a Tam Dirt thrasher. Picked it up for 60 bucks. i am using it as a starter for my 8 year old son, as well as myself ( i am still new) we are doing evrything from painting bodies, upgrading shocks(if i can find some) and changing the motor and stock MSC. It is a good buggy for what i do with it (bash around the yard, and if my son is driving-into everything in a 2 block radius) i dont think it will ever be "race" ready but as i upgrade it it seems to be able to handle eveything ok, and my 8 year old loves it. So not sure if this helped but there you go. Hope yopu dont think this is a "crap " post, just wanted to share

I kow that the pede in a monster truck but i would like to lower it a bit to keep it from rolling over. what would be the best way to do this. can i buy shorter shocks, and i want to use dual rate springs what is the thought about this. thanks in advance, and btw, i think that i have a pretty cool body for my pede, it came with a red white and blue american flag style paint.

RE: Mystery Solved! How to select the proper gearing for your electric RC!
i am running a stock pede right now, i am putting in a venom fireball 17 double. I am using the stock tires that have a diameter of 4.8. the tranny is the stock 272. using the calculator it says that i should use an 16/89 set up. is this correct? and can i find gears to match. thanks

RE: Tamiya Dirt Thrasher Motor questions
me and jeff go way back....[:D] the only place i have found a body for it is at tower it is about $18. I am going to order it in a week or so. I have a Traxxas stampede, i am taking the motor out of it and will put it in the thraher, i am going to replace the stampede with some sort of 17 turn. also the thrasher i have has an esc in it, i bought it off of ebay with everything but a shell, not bad, I guess it will be for me and the kids to bash with, will look for another RC off of ebay and see if i can make a racer out of it.

Tamiya Dirt Thrasher Motor questions
just got a Dirt thrasher, used, it came w/o a body, put at 50 bucks i think it was a still, it is in great shape. Anyway. I am new to RC and want to peplace the motor in the car. All I have heard about is motors grouped by turns, the thrasher has a "540" motor, what is this, and what would a mid level upgrade be. Hope to rebuild and make raceable one day. But just want to get started learnig to drive right now.

RE: Mystery Solved! How to select the proper gearing for your electric RC!
ok, so i have been told that i used the wrong measurment for the tire size, after remeasure, things look a bit more correct. according to the formula if i re-gear to a 16/87 set up it ges me around a .5 or so. Does this sound do-able and will it work with a 20t or a 19t motor.

RE: Mystery Solved! How to select the proper gearing for your electric RC!
OK, so i have the spreed sheet, the desire to speed up my elect pede. I am really new to RC and the first thing i am going to do is change to a new motor. the 272 tranny will support down to a 17 turn, was thinking of dropping to a 19 turn, not sure which yet. and sticking with he stock 2.2 wheels. using the formula i come out with a -6.235 ratio with the stock 20 turn motor. where should i go from here to bring this more in line with the 20t and what should i look forward to doing to line out the 19t. thanks allot.
