RE: Black Horse Shrike Commander
Andy, I have a Dual Ace from Seagull and it is a beauty and the admiration of everyone at the club. 2 x 40 2-S is enough. I also finished a Cessna 337 and now waiting for better weather here in Scotland.

RE: Black Horse Shrike Commander
Sorry to hear that NMZ, we all certainly were expecting news from you, so I will take those lessons on board. Surprisingly youtube does not show me any video from someone flying this nice plane; it seems that you are the only one whi has flown it!!. For now I'll keep flying my Dual Ace and my new Cessna 337 push-pull

RE: Black Horse Shrike Commander
Hi Peter, very nice looking model!!. No, I am finishing my Cessna 337 first, before embarking on my next model which is this Commander. I had a "small" issue during the maiden flight of the 337..... it never took off!! I put 2 x OS 40 FS and it fell short on power. Now I am looking into different alternatives.... my daddy always said.... sonny, you need to read the instructions first!![:D]

RE: Hangar 9 40 Size Piper Pawnee!!!
I had no idea of such a bulletin Harry, thanks!!. I'll get back to the workshop again tonight and repeat the check up. Travelling for a few days abroad and after that, weather permitting here in Aberdeen Scotland, another test flight again. Thanks JF

RE: Hangar 9 40 Size Piper Pawnee!!!
Thanks for your suggestions. I came back to my workshop and made an inspection of what could happen and I found the CG to be quite head heavy. Had to move the battery and a bit more of weight to the back and now it is just as the book says (3 1/8 "). Also, checking on the propeller size, it was actually too small ( 12 x 6) so I am changing for a 13 x 8. I hope this will help me to really appreciate the nice manners of this plane.

RE: Hangar 9 40 Size Piper Pawnee!!!
Thanks John; I remember I had some issues with the CG at the beginning and yes, I had to put some weight in the front. I willl check that out again. At times I feel that it is under powered, or maybe the propeller size / pitch not the correct one. As said before, if wind conditions are perfect, no down elevator is required to think that it is tail heavy for instance.

RE: Hangar 9 40 Size Piper Pawnee!!!
Guys, I just had one of the most terrifying flights with my one year old Piper Pawnee. Mine is equipped with a OS 70 4S and to tell you the truth, since the beginning I've found that it will fly nicely ONLY if wind speed is very low, but flying it at speeds faster than 5-8 MPH it becomes very erratic and twitchy. Yesterday I had about 8 MPH winds, clear sky. I took off and from that moment the nightmare began, flying up and down, from one side to another, etc. I had to land immediately and no apparent problems were found. CG is good, controls are as per instructions, etc. Am I the only one having issues with this rather nice and excellent construction quality plane? Thanks

Hei guys, I'm a fan of Black Horse models and this one is for sure in my wish list as is the Stuka as well. This one is a really nice example of the good things that BH is doing. Even retracts are included!!. Great.... saving money now to buy it for my birthday!!

RE: Nitro Models Cessna 337 - Build Thread
This is my experience so far with my new Cessna 337. A friend of mine sold it to me ( I would say he got rid of it and now I understand why) and after opening the box initially I thought that I would have made a good deal. All seemed to be in order but once you start putting the pieces together, you realize that the kit is far from good if you compare it with Hangar 9 or Great Planes or even Black Horse. The instructions are rubbish and I can't understand how come such a company can't hire someone who could put in plain english the instructions together. This is not a kit for a beginner and you need to use your previous experience to build the complete kit. The issue of having to drill the holes that support the dowells, to invent how on earth you are going to put the wings together with no instructions at all, is just unacceptable. Do not even mention that this kit does not come with a rudder or instructions to build such if you want to.... I can tell you that this is the first and last Nitroplanes model that I buy. I am almost finished with the construction, have put 2 x 40 4 stroke (maybe a bit underpowered), lost of weight in front to compensate for a pretty heavy tail, so in a few days I will tell you how is it to fly that model with no rudder. I have to confess, I never use it anyway in my previous models, including a Top Flite 182. Let's see how it goes, but once it is finished it looks nice from the distance. Oh, almost forgot. The kit came with no pushrods and front gear (or perhaps my friend took them for another model?). Instead, they packed two sets of screws and bolts....

Hi, I have been trying to find suppliers for the OV-10 Bronco and Hobby Hangar seems to have dissapeared of selling it. Any idea of any shops in the UK or in the US?. Thanks

RE: ASM C-130
Hi Jim, Thanks for the report. It surprises me that you say that one should never fly the Herk at 1/2 or full throttle. The videos I have seen show the plane flying too fast and I have even seen reports from ASM C130 falling from the sky because they got stalled due to low speed. Have you tried to fly it only with 1/4 of thorttle?. Thanks

RE: TopFlite DC-3/C-47 questions
Hi guys, a question for you related to the construction of the T/F DC-3. I am on page 28 of the Instructions Manual, but I'm stuck on Point 3. It is asking me to build the Bottom Corner Filler from blasa. The problem is that there is no reference to this part in the drawing. Any suggestions?. Thanks...Jaime

RE: ASM C-130
Guys, with so many bad experiences seen on this site, I wonder if AMC is aware of the flaws that this beautiful plane may be presenting. If the issue is just ailerons operation. then something should have been mentioned on the manuals?. Just a thought.
