Anybody tried this?
Just wondering if anyone has bought one of these ugrade kits for their baja's motor. I was thinking about getting the jetpro pipe but I figured I might as well just spend a little more and get this whole kit. As I understand it this comes with parts to convert the stock engine to 29cc? http://cgi.ebay.com/HPI-BAJA-5B-MOTOR-PIPE-FILTER-PREFILTER-PACKAGE-5-HP_W0QQitemZ290062787355QQihZ019QQcategoryZ44028QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

RE: What does everyone do for a living
I currently work for a website design/SEM/web hosting company. I do a little of everything as needed but my actual job is search engine marketing and website optimization. I'm thinking about going into car audio system installation at one of the local car stereo shops though, computer work is ok but I prefer a more hands on type job.

Is it just me or have replacement RC10GT's chassis become non-existent? The back end of mine got twisted in a nasty crash at the track. When I got home I got online to order one but couldn't find one anywhere. It's not even listed as a replacement part on the associated website [sm=confused.gif] (unless I missed it, but I'm pretty sure it's not). I ended up ordering an aftermarket one off ebay.

RE: What Engine for a RC10GT?
If your just bashing I would go with the OS 18, It has more power than you will know what to do with, In fact that is my only problem with it. I'm reconfiguring my GT strictly for racing (or playing on the track anyways) so I'm actually going to be pulling it out for a .12.

I have one of them, mine is the Rad2. It needs new tires and I had to make a new rear shock tower out of G10 (the factory fiberglass one broke and I could not find a replacement anywhere) but other than that it's still good to go.

I bowhunt whenever there is a opening at the local places (hard to get an opening at them, lots of people in town bowhunt). I don't hunt for a specific animal, I just shoot the first thing I see :). Seriously though, just deer and hogs.

RE: Two new toys in one week...
Drove the Revo earlier, runs pretty good but I'm not a fan of it's overall design, seems overly complicated or something? I'm loving the E-Savage though, however, I'm gonna have to do something with the ESC because now it's apparently overheating about 3/4 way through the packs. I'm gonna try a fan on it and if that doesn't help I might just upgrade it or put a brushless system in it (not that it needs it, it runs pretty good as is IMHO). Anyways, here's pics of the two and a decked out T-maxx which is awaiting parts, or rather waiting on them to be installed...

Two new toys in one week...
I just got two new RC's in one week [:D]. 1. Brand new E-Savage (baja body version). I saw it at hobby town and had to have it. This thing is awesome, pretty fast and lots of fun to drive. My only complaint is the stock ESC, sometimes it gets a little happy and wants to go into reverse instead of just braking. Wish it had reverse lockout (actually, it might because I didn't even look at any of the instructions [8|] ). 2. Lightly used Revo. Just got it today, haven't even had a chance to drive it yet. Only paid $100 for it and it's probably only been driven 10-20 times on a track, came with a butload of extra goodies too.

Check at www.shortyusa.com Go to the spring guns and look through them, I'm pretty sure they have some that are under $20. Most dont come with BB's but for what yall are doing you could probably just get a 1000 pack (like $5) and split them up between everybody.

RE: Blade CX2
ORIGINAL: WilsonFlyer I'm curious as to why you would think the price of the CX would come down. This appears to be a direct replacement for the CX. If that's the case, I can't imagine why the original CX would even remain in the product line once the duece is released/available.
They are still making the Blade CP even though the Blade CP Pro is out so I just assumed they will do the same with the CX2. Then again, maybe not since they are pricing it the same as the CX. I may email our sales rep monday and see what they say.

RE: green light turns red in flight..
My CP does the same thing, green light turns red at full throttle. Don't know if it's normal or why it does it but mine has always done it. As for the tail rotor, my guess would be that the added mass of the plastic blades is creating more torque than the tail rotor is capable of counteracting efficiently, if that makes any sense.

Blade CX2
For those that haven't heard, E-flite is coming out with a Blade CX2 which should be out before Christmas. The new Blade CX2 looks like it's going to be about the same as the CX but it's going to come with a 5 channel Spektrum Radio (made by E-Flite) and appears to have a different charger (this one can do 2-3s batteries). Street price is going to be around $189.99 so I am guessing the CX will come down some.

Wingtote makes a case for micro heli's, it's not much cheaper than the align case (I think it's $50) and it's not aluminum though.

RE: NiMh Batteries
You could do it but you really wouldn't save any money and the pack would most likely not work too great (poor voltage and low current handling I would assume). If you're looking for cheap packs for something like an Eco-8 get on ebay and look for powerizer packs loose powerizer sub-c cells, that's what I use in mine. I bought a 12 pack of the loose 3300's for like 30 bucks.

RE: Extra parts?
The carbon blades are typically a bit more durable than the woodies (as far as dents and dings goes anyways, they'll still shatter in a decent crash) but if you're new to heli's I would say stick with the woodies for a while as they're cheaper to replace. Best bet on the replacement parts is to buy one of everything because if you have the luck I have you will break the one part you don't have when you crash [8|]
