Need advise on a submarine purchase
I have seen the 3 most dominant submarines in here to be the "WalMart Sub" the Radioshack Mako Mini-sub and the Nikko series subs (they are all the same so I will use SEA-WOLF as the example) They are all ready to run. I need the short version as far as which is the best one to buy. Don't factor price because it's not a factor. Which is the best. I am mostly looking for one that does not NEED to be modified in order to stay running for a year and is reliable. That's what is most important to me. It's for my 6 year old. As far as me and hobby I will get a more serious unit that has to be assembled and whatnot, but this one I don't want it to be dissapointing. Thanks. btw, I did have a mako sub but it was abused and no longer works. It was purchased in the winter so I never had a chance to try it in the pool. (My 3yr old got a hold of it.) I hear about the mako flooding but I have no way of knowing if it broke because of that or the kid..

Radio Shack MAKO Mini-Sub
Does anyone have a good link to this sub as far as protecting it? I bought one at Radio Shack when they were out and it worked great for about 2 weeks. Now it just goes forward and unless the transmitter antenna is about 1 inch from the sub it will not respond. If you run it in the water for more than 10 minutes it stops responding altogether. Any help would be greatly appreciated. HEY: If you haven't found this sub anywhere, or if you live in Canada, [link=http://www.brookstone.com/shop/product.asp?product_code=494773&world_code=3&category_code=50&subcategory_code=617&search_type=subcategory&cm_ven=Compare&cm_cat=Trafficleader&cm_pla=Datafeed&cm_ite=Keyword]HERE[/link] is a store still selling it. It's yellow and re-branded but it's the EXACT same sub as the Radio Shack version.
