RE: Offical nitro tc3 thread
flynvy5 , i dont think that foams chunk real quick im running 40 shore and 30 shore on the front and i run on a parking lot track every week and i get about 7-8 weekends at least if not more out of a set of tires, before they really start to chunk or need replacing, all we do to our track is blow it off with a leaf blower and then run .................. i think alot depends on the shore and the brand you use and racing T shore is the rating of the tire.... the higher the shore number the harder the compond which means less wear but also means less traction the lower the number the better the traction but they wear out faster hope that helps have fun

i think i see what you did......... you reversed the arms right? i mean you put the left arms on the right and vise versa right ......... if you did i can see how that would work . great job good info

RE: one way diff
yeh its not the tires or the oil causing the rear to come around its the one way and your driving style that is doing it.... by usig a one way in the front you are casueing ALL the braking power to go to the rear like appolo said kinda like riding a mini bike when ya nail the back breaks it will slide when you hit just the front breaks youll go over the handle bars BUT if you hit both at the same time youll stop real quick and in control lol

but dont get every one wrong i think the ntc3 is still alive and a very dependable racer but its more at the local level i think more of the top end racing uses higher end cars

the only other thing i would recommend is having a variety of tire selections and springs for the shocks and maybe a couple of clutch bells and spur gears with diffrent gear ratios lol

RE: Used NTC3
also as far as the foams are concerned........ what shore are they ??? the higher shores still offer pretty good traction and a decent wear rate i usally get about 8-10 tanks plus or minus about 3 tanks depending on where im running and the type of surface and blah blah blah LOL soooo i think foams are a good choice myself i usally can pick up a set of hpi or nitro shoes 40 shores here at my lhs for about 12-15 bucks a set so about 30 for all 4 which isnt too bad but thats just my opinion

RE: Official RC10GT Thread
by cutting the header you are changine the power curve for the engine ........... if i remeber right the shorter it is the more lower end torque you will have but the longer the pipe the higher the rpm and overall top end you will have ............. this is if i rember right if im worng someone speak up please LOL

RE: Offical nitro tc3 thread
ahhhhhhhhhh ok i seee what your issue is ............ just take the screw out that holds the pin in and put a small washer on it to hold the pin in there.... thats what the screw is for but the head of the screw doesnt hit on it much so yours is proabbly just worn a bit .... so if you put the washer on the screw then it wont push out any more

RE: Offical nitro tc3 thread
which way is it falling out from the front or the back of the arm... if its the front then that means you either have the wrong screw in the arm (too small of a head on it ) or like i said above if the back hole on the arm is ovaled out then it will fall out hte back of the arm which it shouldnt be able to

RE: Before i order my factory team ntc3....
its proablly how you have your suspension set up you might be either usng too much or not enough toe in /out that whould casue it... also what kind of tires are you using ???? this plays into it also depending on the surface you are running on

RE: Offical nitro tc3 thread
when you mean falling im assuming you mean commin out of the arm from the front or the rear of the arm correct ? if so ..... its either you have lost the screw in the front of the arm just to the side of the hinge pin hole and it is allowing it to come out or on the back of the arm where the hinge pin comes out ... that hole has been reamed out somehow which is allowing the pin to push all the way through .... the top pin should not be able to go all the way through the arm...............

RE: new to nitro
thats a good engine but im not sure as to waht the rules state the engine size is wether its .12 or .15 for the max size (i know in road cars its .12) but for 2 w stadium im not sure but most definatly the cz is a great engine...... as far as a radio ... i like the FM ones they seem to have less glitching and interference issues, plus you can usally get them with more "options" on them...... as far as the pull start issue... mainly if you are going to put a racing engine in it you might as well go with out a pull start... there are many opions as to why you should and shouldnt use a pull start...the main is that when you use a pull start .... it supposly takes engine RPM from it doenst allow it to top out due to the resistance applied to the crank buy the one way bearing ......... but hey i use a non pull start to just shave weight off my road car plus i think its a easier start and it makes the car look cleaner..... as far as how to start a engine without a pull start you can use either a starter box, or a roto start system both have pros and cons to them

RE: Offical nitro tc3 thread
"the fix" as you are refering to is actually for the shock tower comming loose or actually breaking the diff case where the screws go into ( the ones that hold the shock towers to the diff case) thats the fix everyone talks about ......... now as far as your clips "falling down" as you said ..... well as long as they are still inbetween the arm and the shock tower and cliped on the hinge pin then your fine .... it doesnt matter where the lip (used to pull the clip off ) is at as long as the clip remains on the shaft you are fine ........ worst case if you loose one just cut a small piece of fuel tubing the same thickness as the clip and pull out the hinge pin and put the piece of fuel tube on the shaft as you insert the pin into its hole that should take caree of it

RE: new to nitro
well you can get this engine its not a racy engine but its a good starter engine it holds a tune well and it gives a decet power till you learn the gt and how it handles ( plus its a cheap engine ) lol http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXBZ30&P=0 as far as a radio http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXCHA7**&P=0 or http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXGAG4**&P=0 both of them radios are decent and as far as the engines you can find cheaper ones but anything you buy make sure you break it good ...... i just prefer the o.s engines i have had real good luck with them and they run really good and strong and last for a good bit too

RE: Yet another differential question.
i think as long as you set it up according to the directions then you should be fine i mean the only time you would tigthen or loosen them up is for running on a track and tryin to fine tune the sterring in a certain part of the corner..... i have noticed that if i run the stock springs on mine with a front swa bar and a tighter diff in the front t gives me a lil more sterring going into the corner atleast its like this where we run every weekend

RE: new to nitro
i agree no nitro on ebay (unless you are buying a rolling chassy or a kit nib ) but i think they gt2 will be just over 300 and if im not mistaken it will be in a kit form which means you need a radio and an engine for it

RE: Before i order my factory team ntc3....
i agree the 3.3 maybe fast but like you said it handles like a brick on wheels LOL i will agree it is fast but if you run a track there is NO and i mean NO way you will be able to take advantage of the top speed so in my eyes a NTC3 (maybe a cen ...... ive never seen one run ) is a better car casue to me the handleing is more important and how well it handles and and its ability to hold a line and accelerate ...but thats just my .02

if im not mistaken (and i maybe) but doesnt the jato have the same ezstart and electrical as a revo? if so doesnt the revo have a voltage cutoff in the electronics on it, i mean the other day a friend of mine but a failsafe for his new revo and come to find out it had one already on it...... i mean i dont know but this maybe this is the issue

RE: Before i order my factory team ntc3....
there is a guy i run with all the time that was having the same promblem we came up with either two conclusions as to why he was shreeding the diff gears first : he was using a one way in the front and a locked in the rear and we run on a pretty sticky track surface (lots of traction that is ) so we thought that sue to the locked diff and the traction he was shreeding them second: since he was using them diffs we thought maybe his diff cases maybe either loose ( the two halfs loose that is ) or that the input was not shimmed like it should be casueing too much backlash in the gears i dont know which one it turned out to be due to we didnt have the parts to fix it there and he deployed this week to go do some training but as soon as i find out what it was ill let ya know

RE: lightweight engine?
also if im not mistaken the "wear" that you are refering too is also casued my the rotational mass of the drive line also.... what i mean is the circular force casue the the left side tires to be pushed down harder therfore wearing the tires more .... this will also apply on the setup as far as front to back so if you are running a fairly stock setup i would suspect your left rear to wear more, i know mine does (i also run foams 95% of the time so i see the wear alot quicker) ........ on thing i do is just rotate the tires after each tank i mean you need to look the car over anyway right so it only takes a few secs to do.... i usally get better wear that way

RE: What to look for in a starter?
i dont know i have this one and it came with everything i needed including the battery (which is a 12 volt sealed ) plus you can use it with a cable on ya car battery or run it with 2 stick packs ive used it to start my NTC3 and some 1/8 scale cars and truggies ..... it works awesome plus the cost is kinda good too .... it also comes with the charger http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXHUD0&P=0

RE: Set-up questions?
get the RPM arms they seem to hold up nicely and as far as a servo if you have the money go with a decent speed one with metal gears as the front end does take good pounding ( atleast mine does) the servo saver works but i still like the added strength of metal . but by all means it doesnt have to be near as fast as say a road cars steering but hey fast cant hurt anything !!!!

RE: Set-up questions?
i dont know i beat on my gt regularly and th most i have ever done is burnt up the diff gear once,,,, and a couple front a arms and a rear one or two ......... ohh and a rear shock tower ( but that was due to about 10 feet up and landing lid down lol ... ouchhhhh) but other than that it has been a very durable truck and i have had it about 3 yrs now

no its not but it is still very very good i like the fact it keeps its tune very good....... i had a force .12 pro s engine made for ofna...... it was a good starter engine but i think the most i learned off that engine was how to tune lol i was always tuneing it lol with the O.S engine its like night and day and runs a ton better
