RE: BVM Aeropoxy
ORIGINAL: acw Speaking of BVM Aeropoxy, how does it compare to Hysol epoxy products. Is it better or similar? Arnaud
It's not better or similar, it's the same. Aeropoxy is Hysol 9462 with a different label. Jason

RE: BVM Aeropoxy
Theres a date on it but I have used it way after that date and it's fine. Also the importer in uk says it can be "re-lifed" by putting the tube in hot water for a while. Jason

Chad thanks for that. I'm really surprised this charger has this option as it must be 4 years old and I didn't think these A123 cells were about then. thanks Jason

I spent all day fitting out a F86 for the Sprite today. With a little luck I might just get it flying for next Monday but either way it will be at Classic Jets on the 11th Dec. Jason

RE: BVM Bandit cloning in Brazil
So the price difference is $1095 less than the BVM S.B. Not a massive saving considering.. Anyway has no one told this guy that nobody builds Super Bandits anymore and the world buys the Barf? I think he may get a little disapointed with the kit sales.. Jason

New Sprite nano turbine. Now with video.
I have managed to scrounge one of John Wright’s new Sprite nano turbines to have a play with. It really looks the part with it's machined from solid aluminium anodised case, it's bespoke laser cut strap and very nice also machined from solid tail cone. It came in the post this morning and John suggested it might be a good idea to get to grips with it on a test stand so I wasted no time in doing so. It started first time and stayed really really cool during the ramp and run cycle. The surprising thing about this 60mm (same as the Jetcat P-20) case dia turbine is the thrust it puts out. John tells me the norm is 2.75kg although this one is doing 3kg!! I have not managed to convince John to put these into production properly but with a little gentle persuasion who knows...

RE: How to balance the turbine?
That method Johnny mentioned works really well. I have done a good few like that and with a little patience you can get almost perfect. I found using aerosol brake cleaner to clean the bearings out between grinds worked well for me. jason

RE: New Sprite nano turbine. Now with video.
Mick There’s nothing more I can tell you really other than John has been running these inconspicuously at jet meets this year and they are going much better than he could have wished for. Geoff "Seriously think about buying one" is going to get John motivated, let’s have a ' I would defiantly buy one' [;)] Jason

RE: New JetJoe J-Junior 4lbs turbine
Unfortunatly I think your JJJ will have a few more trips to the Orient... You might find the NGV has gone out of shape, this happened to mine a few times. But there again I also had a few bearings go as well... Good luck jason

RE: New JetJoe J-Junior 4lbs turbine
Fabien Firstly welcome to RCU! Are you sure all the plugs are in the correct sockets and the right way round in the ECU? If they are and you are reading 200-300 deg on a cold engine then the ECU will need replacement. regards Jason

RE: New JetJoe J-Junior 4lbs turbine
All it's telling you is that the engine stopped and when it spooled down and reached the min run speed the ECU the stops the pump and logs the 'speed low' message. I think you will find the likely cause is air in the fuel line or a sticky/faulty pump. Jason

RE: Large Model Association 25th Oct show
What a do! I really enjoyed the retail therapy at this meet today... Indoor trade shows like these are really inviting this time of year and the queue to get in was 200 yards long at times. The trade support was very good indeed and they all seemed happy with the day’s takings. The trade hall has packed most of the day. . There must have been well over a 100 models to take a look at and the LMA even managed to fly on the runway behind the museum too. I managed to come away with a couple of small kits for nano turbine conversion too. Heres a pic of the Motors and Rotors stand.

RE: Need help with a JR 10X battery pack
On the left side of your first pic theres two tinned tabs between the diode legs. These are there to bypass the diode to allow you to peak the pack. Just blob solder to join the two. Jason
