RE: Saito FA-125 on Pulse XT 60
Better to have too power than not enough, you can always throttle back. The 125 saito is a great motor, I swing a 16X8 at around 8500 in the air. good motor for the plane. If gas is your choice the saito FG 30 would be would be my choice.

RE: Trailers Torsion bar suspension VS Leaf spring
It sounds like the shocks are gone on that trailer. Have you checked the weight distribution because that will cuase trailers to bounce around. I don't think torsion bars are going to help the problem.

RE: retracts or fixed?
If it was me I would say go big or go home hahaha, retracts are alot more work but it makes the plane much more sleek looking.

RE: Breaking in - OS FS 1.20 E Surpass Engine
In my experiance with O.S 4 strokes, the black oil coming out of motor is ok. The O.S motor don't have the compression that the Saito's do, so again I would say its normal. To be honest I've found the Saito's to be far better then the O.S.

RE: anyone know what plane this is
that is a Balsa USA Citabria Pro, great flying plane. i had the pleasure of flying one over many years. Be warned they take along time to assemble at the field if the plane is configired as balsa usa designed it.

RE: Saito muffler connection reliability
are your props balanced?, I use red high temp gasket sealer by permitex and never had a problem. I guess you could try j.b weld but I dont know how good it hold on worn threads.

RE: What oil to use for Saito storage
I use the same thing execpt I mix 50% Reslone in it. Do you run the engine dry at the end of the day? because raw fuel in the crankcase will cause rust.

RE: Sportster 60 power
I would say if you got it, try it. It's always better to have too much power then not enough in my opinion. I would run a Saito 115 or 125a.

RE: How Long Do Servos Last?
I would say to get rid of all of it too, in this case newer is better. I used to fly Kraft AM radio systems but they fell to new techonogly after a few crashes due to interferance.

RE: How much power?
I don't know that bipe, but I always use the rule better to have too much power then not enough because you can always throttle back. I would run a Saito 125A to compensate for the extra drag on takeoff and landing.

RE: Saito - Enya 90 4 C exhaust question
I use Macs Products exhaust parts and they work great. I've tried the saito flex pipe and it broke after 3 flights. Heres the web site http://www.macspro.com/four_parts.asp

RE: New Engine Select
If cost isn't an issue I would go with an O.S 160 twin with on board glow, fair bit of power and they sound perfect for a Cub. If the 160 is too pricey then I would use a Saito 150.

RE: Using a .55 when a .46 is recomended

RE: .40 sized engine for Hyperion P51?
I motto is its better to have too much power then not enough, I would Run a Saito 62 but a 56 would work.

RE: U-CAN-DO-3D 46 SIZE WITH AN .61 EVOLUTION?
thats alot of motor for that size of plane, you might need to build up the front end a bit. If you can get it to balance and the prop clears the ground with the tail up I dont see y it wouldn't work. I always say better to have way too much power then not enough

RE: engine troubles
If the black crap on the plug is carbon build up then its running too rich. Get it running and warmed up, then find peak rpm and richen it by 300 rpm. I dont have 2 strokes anymore but I used to give the fuel line going to the carb a quick pinch when the engine was at full throttle to find the peak rpm but using a techometer is the proper way to do it. if that doesnt work then I would have to agree with crash campbell, bearing problems.

RE: how many gallons?
I have a Saito 65 thats been running sincve 1989 or 1990 and it still runs like a perfect execpt alittle power loss. my dad has an os 91 surpass that finally needs to be rebuilt and its from 1993. On the other hand I had an O.S 120 Surpass Mk2 that never ran good and blew up after only about 8 gallons.

Maybe it was a Kraft radio, My dad had 2 Kraft Am's that he used until the late 90's when Am was outlawed at our field. I know that cases were gold but I can't remember the fequinecy.

RE: Why so down on young guns?
I would hope not, Im only 24 and I got my wings when I was 11. There are guys at my club that are older but have few years experiance and they treat me like Im a rookie when I've got 15 years at the controls. As far as new guys go, My club encourages them to ask for help but most of them won't. Unforuntately, with the price of arfs and how easy they are to find, buy and build, I find alot of rookies get in other there heads with planes they are not ready to fly, As a result end up walking out to the pile of balsa with a garbage bag. I ve got no problems with new pilots as long as they don't become dangerious or can't handle constructive critizom. I Hope to see young kids get into this hobby because it is alot better then doing drugs or drinking. Seems youth today needs more guidance and a time consuming hobby haha
