RE: E-Flight 25 in a Hobbico 40 balsa ?
The "S" indicates that number of cells are connected in Series to add together their individual voltages to provide the rated output voltage of the "pack" (package). The number followed by a "P" indicates how many of the "packs" are connected in Parallel to provide the same voltage with more power.

RE: Help with identifying connectors!
The black and red connectors are Anderson PowerPoles. Personally, I prefer them as they can be disconnected one-handed, unlike Deans. Here's a link. http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXD176&P=ML If you plan to standarize, it's the way to go. Jack

RE: concered about a APC prop ,is it for electric?
Sounds like the latter; non-electric. You could use it. but it would put an undue strain on your motor.

RE: OS electric motors beware
Common, Guys, lighten up. K3, how many replacement nuts did you buy from the alternate source? Only one, or did you get some extras and, if so, how many? Was your choice based upon how many you expect to need, or price/quantity or the vendor would not sell in smaller quantity and where did you put the extras? All decisions any vendor must make regarding a new product. Gohmer, did you never get exasperated and vent about something? It's a hobby, people, and a learning opportunity. Life is short, and there are plenty of major issues to torque your jaws over. Jack

RE: CAN'T GET PROP TO BALANCE
If you used a hand-held reamer, it's entirely probable the hole is a little off-center. As pointed out above, a center mass out-of-balance condition should only be problematic if you run it at consistant high RPMs and must have absolute minimum vibration. If you are sport flying, you're probably right to go on and fly it. Jack

RE: removing Bowes or Warps in control surfaces?
Try: place it on a flat surface, bow up, heat with heat gun, press flat while letting it cool. Depending upon severity of warp/bow, that's all it takes. Jack

RE: USPS, Service with a smile. The Sequel
And they STILL can't operate in the black. I wonder how much USPS would save if they stopped designing/printing so many different stamps. That would eliminate the expenses of a lot of artists, engravers, printers, support staff and printing equipment. They are a postal service, not a hobby shop for stamp collectors. Jack

RE: Motor runs after TX is shut off
1320, I was discussing your option of switching one motor lead with a friend who said he read somewhere that all three leads between the motor and the ESC should be the same length; something to do with the timing of the motor. Adding the switch would effect both the physical and electrical length of one lead. Have you tried this and, if so, what was your experience? P.S. I'm using Powerpole connectors to create my own version of the "arming plug" in the hot battery-to-Esc lead. Works great, but your idea would be better for system setup/checks during pre-flight or builds. Jack

RE: Motor runs after TX is shut off
Your switch would have to be in the "hot" lead from the battery, and able to handle the heavy current the motor might draw. Most swiches capable of that heavy a current load are too large to be practical. Try changing your battery connectors to Powerpole connectors, they are much easier to connect/disconnect, even one-handed and will handle the load. RE: Motor runs after TX is shut off
SOP for electrics is turn the tx ON before plugging in the rx battery and turn the tx OFF only AFTER unplugging the rx battery. This ensures the tx will be in control whenever the rx is on.

RE: Cataracts, eye wear prescription
My cataracts developed "equally" so that they were removed a week apart; I now wear "readers" but otherwise am doing fine. I asked my doctor if there is some reason why the simple lens replacement procedure is not used to correct other vision problems besides cataracts. It seems many doctors in other countries do such procedures, but the FDA and US medical professions, so far, stick to the theme of "if it ain't broke... etc." She did go on to say that attitude might change within the next 5 - 10 years (her opinion).
