RE: GZ Retracts
The last time I talked to Doug, much of his problem is manpower: he, his wife and his father are it! Three people to do ALL the assembly, testing and shipping, not to mention all the other work and planning that goes into getting a new venture up and running. Top that with a staggering demand, snd maybe that makes it a little more understandable. Granted, customer service in the form of communication seems to be a low priorty, but quality of product, once you receive it, is foremost!

RE: Servo mounting screws
I read recently that thr Futaba Phillips screws are a Japanese standard rather than SAE or metric. Went on to say a set of Japanese standard screwdrivers could be had....at a price. Might be part of the reason they burr out so easily if using a regular Phillips.

RE: Lado retracts, do the really exist?
If you've read this entire thread, you know my FIRST order was #601 on October 2, 2008. I waited, and went through unanswered calls and emails and promises that didn't pan out and placed and received a second order, BEFORE the first was delivered. So I believe that gives me a prior voice in the matter. Doug has been doing a yeoman job getting a new business off the ground despite poor economic conditions and poor vender support. Granted, he has a lot to learn about the marketing side of business, but he's learning. If that's not good enough for you, take your business elsewhere.

I turned 70 last month and that means, after 37 yeqrs in banking and 24 in military service, I've listened to enough whiners and trouble makers to last me a another lifetime. Bug off, Laddie. And no, I did NOT go to work at age nine, part of my military service was in the reserve, which meant I was holding down two jobs for a while

No you don't need to say more. Go cry to Mommy or on someone else's thread and let Doug deal with those who are willing to work with him Maybe CJ or Robart can make you happy, but somehow I doubt it!

Anyone who reads this thread should have fair warning there may be problems and/or delays in receiving a first class piece of machinery. If you don't want to take the chance you may have to wait for it, DON'T ORDER IT!!! You're like the people who refuse to believe the "Wet Paint" sign. CHEESE!! It's like listening to a back seat full of 5 year olds.

RE: Lado retracts, do the really exist?
Doug, we just finished our Warbird Fly-In here in Central Alabama. I had the wing from my TF P-47 ARF on hand to demonstrate the installed 60-6's. I also had the Robarts 630BNZ trike set with the actuator retrofit kits installed. Drained two 6 v batteries demonstrating them. Several guys went right to your website on their cell phones and iPods to see what you had available. I relasted to them all the problems and delays resulting from your startup and supply v. demand overlpoad, and they ALL agreed the end product is well worththe delay; especially if they know ahead of time there will be a delay and are kept in yhr loop. Many asked if I knew your plans for developing larger units for GS birds. Explained I was sure they were in the future. Great product - Best wishes for success. Jack Dismukes

Doug called me yesterday (Friday) to say my trike retro fit kit was shipping. They arrived this morning. After about 30 minuts the three actuators had replaced the air cylinders. No "adjusting" required. Operation is smooth as greased owl poop! Jack

RE: Lado retracts, do the really exist?
Full size, hydraulic retracts do not operate symetrically. True scale operation is what you are experiencing. That is one of the positive features of the Lados. If you need simultaneous movement, Lado makes a separate controler, but I'm not sure they have any in stock righrt now. so you might try this gear/door sequencer http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/WTI0095P?FVSEARCH=sequencer&search=Go

4.5 months?? Try 10/02/2008 and still waiting for my R630T retro kit!! If I weren't so happy with the 60-6's I received 5 days after ordering them last month (they were in stock, on the shelf when I ordered them by phone) I might be a little torque-jawed. Jack

Bax, In February, I purchased the Tower package of a 12FGA w/R6014FS rx plus a free R617FS rx. Please clarify what "shortfalls" I should anticipate in either FS rx, neither of which I have installed so far. When I install them, I will be using Futuba servos. Jack

RE: Lado retracts, do the really exist?
Sputnik, hang in there. It sounds as if you have machinist skills, so when you get your set, you'll appreciate the workmanship. I've been waiting since October 2, 2008, for a retrofit kit of three actuators similar to those Mirwin describes, but it is a set for trike gear (R630-T) In the meantime, I ordered a set of 60-6's which Doug had in stock. They arrived over the weekend and are fabulous. Hopefully, I'll be able to finish the build and get them installed soon. The wait is worth the result. Jack

We have enough chance of inexperienced, unaffiliated flyers of park-type aircraft causing an incident which the general public will cite as an example of the danger of all RC aircraft

RE: longer range with radio
Thanks, Bax. Like we really nead another rouge RCer getting ALL RCers painted with the same broad brush of unsafe, illigal practices. Legitimate modelers have worked hard for many years to establish a reputation for safety which gives AMA credibility. It only takes one idiot to create an incident which "blows it all into a cocked hat". I hope alexedit comes to his sences before he causes real harm.
