RE: Engines for Hangar 9 Twin Otter
Hello all, I took my otter to the feild yesterday and had trouble synching the engines. One was running faster than the otther, I dicsonneceted the throttel servo pushrod to get it to run in sequnce with the other engine, but I still couldnt get them close enough. When I taxied the runway, I had to keep constant rudder to track straight. I am considerign buying a servo synchronizer, I dont have anotehr channel on my radio to program. So, couple questions, how close in RPM's do you get, or do you do it by ear, and do you think the synchronizer is a solid solution? This is my first twin, so trying to learn as |I go along. have a great day, thanks, Joe

Retract/Robart gear knowledge needed
Hello all; I have a few planes with retracts in them, mechanical type, which work OK(H9 Corsair & Hellcat) that I want to switch to Robart Oleo type. How do I pick the right ones, what process do you use to determine which diameter fit the mechanical system? How do you put together the system yourself, if you were picking parts from Tower for example. I am kind of reluctant to try becasue I dont want to spend on something that may not go together. I bought a set of premade/kit CJ retracts for my top flite mustang, that was easy, but want to know how to pick myself. any tips? thanks very mcuh, Joe

RE: Mustang comparative evaluations..battle of the owners?
Thanks for the input. I have been following the bluenose thread, but some say it flies just like a warbird, which is OK with me, but given the overall opinion, seems the Top-flite is just all together a better solution. Any opinions on the Century retracts for this, or built up from robarts would be better? Joe

Mustang comparative evaluations..battle of the owners?
Hey all, I am looking to buy a P-51 arf, 60 size. I am looking for input as to whether the way to go is Top Flite Gold P51 or H9 Mustang Blue nose. Maybe there is also something out there comparative I haven't seen? Looking to go 4 stroke, with retracts... your input would be great Thanks guys, happy flying... Joe

RE: Hanger Nine Twin Otter build
I just got mine as well. Ordered the servos, BUT I dont think Horizon was prepared to have the 36 EVO's to go with them, and I am not going electric. Have to wait until July now for final assembly... Joe

RE: Prop selection suggestions needed
I have been flying now for 3 years, (with wings) and doing well. I have a Cap 580 Great planes with a91 4 stroke, and did most of my flying the last 2 years on an H9 P51 46. I figured this question would come down to a more basic approach, and I cant get a lot of input considering the 3 blade and 4 stroke issue at the club. I will start with the 2 blade props, but was interested in the 3 blade for purely scale appearance, but good flight and performance is more important, a solid fly is what I am looking for first, then experiemnt. I find that the prop selection seems to be one of the less scientific areas of the system than the rest of the plane, JMO. I will try the suggestions given, I think understanding the prop to engine and plane relationship is the thing I have been working on longest, and there are so many opinions on this... Thanks again.. Joe

RE: Prop selection suggestions needed
Guys, thanks lots...as far as the chart, I have seen it, however it would seem that nobody at the feild actually follows it, so the practical input is what I was looking for. my Mentor does have the retracts... Joe
