RE: RC Plane Guys Are Cheap!
you guys really make me laugh out loud!You buy a $35000.00 car that as soon as you drive it out of the showroom it's worth $25000.00 tops.Now lets talk some FACTS. I"am on this site three or four times a day and what I see sometimes border on crimial. I see guys selling planes for more then the kit retails for. I see b.s. like rare ,hard to fine,no longer in production,collectors kit,etc.,etc. and then slap a price on this garbage that's a crime.To me some if not most of this is fraud. You can"expect to fly an airplane for one or two or more years and get your money back so you can buy that new kit you want at no cost to you. Yes there are good deals that go both ways and I have made a few here at rc/universe, but one thing I did learn don,t buy it from a picture. If I can,t drive to see it I don't buy it. Once stung shame on you. Twice stung shame on me. Also I didn't appriciate the wise crack about airplane people being a bunch of old guys. And last but not least if you don't like the offer just say no and be polite about it, because maybe that's all they can afford. one very old airplane guy!

stone cold first class company.
first let me say I'am a 68 yr old retired manager from a nationwide department store. We always prided our selves as giving above normal service and quality of goods. But I can tell you I just had the best experiance of my hobby life. The company I'am talking about is Multiplex of Germany not U.S.A who could not or would not help me not even a little.None,zero,zip forget not possiable etc. etc.It's so often we bash people and companies I really felt a stronger then usual need to beat the drum and blow my horn for this company who didn't know the words no,can't,or, what you got to be kidding. So here is my story of what GREAT customer service looks like. I bought on r/c universe a glider (cularis) at a very fair price. After I received it I did notice some parts missing. Notified the seller no problem he found them and sent them to me. Moving foward I proceed to put glider together and low and behold I'am missing this small piece that hold the elevator together so you can fly it. So I call the seller and he can' find any such piece. I try to rig some thing else no go. now my internet search of three weeks starts. No luck no hobby shop in the country has parts not even their so called north american service center and distribter,which by the way is one of the big three. They said no, impossiable ,can't do anything to help etc. then Iwent online to Multiplex and found they did sell a tail assembly which had the missing part I needed, so I emailed them that I wanted to buy the tail kit even though I only needed that one small part. Two days later I get an email saying no need to waste money they will send me the part I just needed.I told them I would pay for part and shipping. So today part arrives from Germany invoiced at $oo.oo . NO story about how they had to charge for part or shipping or handling because it wasn,t under warrenty etc. etc. they even apoligized because the part was missing can you image that. In closing I guess I can only say I guess the words CAN't, WON'T, or IMPOSIABLE are not in the German language. John J Pedrick AMA162506

two thumbs up!!
javascript:void(opener.AddText('[sm\=teeth_smile.gif]','));self.focus();we so often are willing to complain when we think we have been wronged ,but never take the time to praise when someone,thing,or company does something that just KNOCKS YOUR SOCKS OFF!!!! I'am here to blow my horn for the RCM plan company. I ordered plans for the ace commander shrike which was a construction article back in the 70's. I received the plans as ordered. The only problem I had was the enclosed construction pages were not very helpful to me. Now I could have struggled through and maybe even built it right. I was to say the least disappointed.Now I want to make it clear they kept their part of the bargain. So after a few days I dropped them an email and voiced my disappointment. A couple days later I received an email back explaining to me that you pay extra for the complete article with pictures when you buy the plans. Then he added but I will send them to you no cost. You could of knocked me over with a feather. After getting said items plus other items that he threw in at his cost,There is someone in business that knows how to service a customer. I was a manager in a very large department store for 35 years and did not see service this good in some of the stores I visited in the chain I worked in! Casey thank you!!javascript:void(opener.AddText('[sm\=thumbs_up.gif]','));self.focus();

carl goldberg epoxy
many years ago when i use to build more i used carl goldberg epoxy. it was just great stuff. it dried with a white color and was hard as a rock. does anyone know if this is still made maybe by someone else as they have destroyed the old company as we knew it. it was light yellow or tan for one part and white for the other part and came in tubes. hope its still around somewhere.

RE: Thank you parkflyers
well I think all you guys need to stuff it and address the famlies problems. I think the ama even if not responable should offer to help cover medical expenes . it might even make the news and help show there are resposable r/c flyers out there. Or maybe some local clubs or maybe all the ama clubs could donate a few bucks to help the family with there bills.

RE: RC Shop marketing tactics
well let me give you guys a little lesson in retail selling.I have been in retail for a major retailer for over 38 years. I don,t claim that i'am an expert but I do know or understand it. I ran a store that did 35 million dollars a year and had at times over 280 employees. Once upon a time many years ago as a retailer in most states in the good old USA you were not allowed to advertise or sign an item at a SALE price unless you sold it at the suggested retail for at least 30 days! Then there were some manufactures who would not let you to put items on sale!! There are still some like perfume companies who control there pricing that's why they never go on sale. well about the late sixty's the lobby group got together with your congressman and change that law so now those companies don't have to sell that sale item at it's fairy tale make believe suggested retail price.let me give you some examples of this voodoo pricing sales. gold jewerly average markup 400 to 900% or more.mattress and furiniture 100 to 400% markup. Humel collection 200 to 350% markup. Your hobby companies are just as bad if not worst. The big 3 of the r/c hobby control and laugh all way to the bank because just like the railroads and the oil compinies of there day and on and on they just buy up thier compition and control what you pay.so is that $500.00 model really worth it. Probaly not but someone will pay if I say IT,S ON SALE FOR $399.99. Way back in the day the .99 ending was used to denote the item was on sale. Some retialers used .88, or .66. Yes the ......................................................95 ending is used to make it sound cheaper because 99.95 sounds cheaper then saying 100.00 dollars. just remember if you think or want it the PRICE IS RIGHT!
