RE: TORA, TORA, TORA, Val has landed
Tye, Just finished the cockpit install. It came out great as all of your cockpits do. Still had plenty of room to mount the servos.

RE: TORA, TORA, TORA, Val has landed
Hello all, Anyone building the Val? I have one on the build table now. I have Tys cockpit installed and the engine mounted. I am using the 36cc rear exhaust Petro. Will start on the tail next. Has any one flown with a gas engine? How does it fly over all? Will post pic. soon.

RE: ESM warbird, who to buy from???
The planes are ether shiped by UPS or FedEx And with the price of fuel the shipping cost has gone through the roof. That is what you will have to pay for any plane that size.

RE: ESM warbird, who to buy from???
Tomas at VQ warbirds is your best one to deal with. He will do what ever it takes to keep you completly happy. There is one thing all of the ESM planes come from AFR Pros since they are the only distributor in the USA. VQ and KMP are just dealers. Still I would only buy from Tomas at VQ JD

RE: KMP Glass F-18
I recieved mine last week. After inspecting it I was a little dissapointed in the fiberglass work. I didn't know if I was even going to build it. Well after looking it over decieded to go ahead with the build. first thing I did was to build servo covers for the ailerons. I don't like seeing servos hanging out. I also have a set of electric retracts coming with scale struts. Will post pictures of wings tonight JD.

A-10 From DuctedFans.com
Has any one built or no any thing about the A-10 70mm that ductedfans.com builds. I haven't seen any builds on them. They are also building a 90mm but it won't ready for 3 months. They have the 70mm in stock. Not in to the foam jets. JD

RE: Has TBM really stopped importing ESM warbirds?
OK guys here is what I found out from Tomas at VQ. The new distributor is in southwest florida. The latest container is in and all the planes are on the VQ web site. They can be ordered through VQ as always. From what I know the new Distributor was or still is a Rep. for Composite ARF. Don't worry ESM is still here and Tomas will take care you as always. So break out your creidit cards and order through Tomas at VQ Warbirds.

ESM P-40 50cc
I have been building my P-40 for about 3 weeks now. The build on this bird has been great. I have not run into a single problem which doesn't happen very often on a ARF. I am down to installing the gear fairings and cockpit. I am waiting for Ty to finish the cockpit kit. Will also be getting the spinner that he made. Will post pictures tonight when I get home from work. For power I am using a DLE 55 with a TBM pitts muffler. The only cut in the cowl is for the exaust pipes. As all my birds I build it will be for sale when completed. JD

RE: esm,troybuilt
The ESM planes we are getting now are much improved over the earlier ones. The quality and fit and finish is outstanding. I am building the 50cc P-40 and it is the best one I have built out of the last 10 or so. For the price and what you get they are a great deal. Tomas at VQ warbirds is the one to by from. He will go the extra mile to make you happy. His service is the best. JD

RE: ESM 89 in. Spitfire has arrived!!
TY, Sorry to hear about the damage. It looks like UPS is living up to there name ULTIMATE PLANE SMASHERS I had the same thing happen to a LA-7 I sent to a guy in Georgia. After a month they finally paid the claim. They denied it at first and the reason was it was shipped in a unaproved carton. I told them that it made it from China and to TBM and then to me with no damage in the same box so it should have made it to Georgia. You will have to stay on them to get the claim paid. Good luck. RE: New to warbirds..HELP
motor12, Welcome to the warbird form. Every thing you will need to know about Warbirds is here. For the money and looks it's hard to beat ESM warbirds. Tomas at VQ Warbirds is the place you want to buy from. His customer service is one of the best. Some one else will have to answer your question on electrics. There are a lot of ESM warbirds with electric motors flying out there. Any way welcome ane good luck. JD

RE: ESM F4U Build
DOC, Looks good so far. One thing you better make the ign, shelf longer, You are going to have to add a lot of nose weight. Most erery one has had to add at least 2lb. in the nose to balance. Good luck. JD

Thanks guys for the advice on the balance. It took a little over 2.5lbs in the nose at 103mm. I didn't think I was ever going to stop adding weight to the tray I built. Thanks again for the advice. JD

RE: KMP Corsair
OK I need some help. I have read all the post on balancing the Corsair. So should it be balanced at 130 or 103? I set it on my CG machine at 130 and it is a ton tail heavy. I have a RCGF 26cc and a pitts muffler. How much nose weight has every one been having to add. Trying to figure out where to put that much weight. JD

RE: shipping big planes
Grey Hound is 30X48X82 and can not exceed 100 pounds. I am sending two planes to Texas with them. FL. to TX is $110.00 If you exceed the weight or size your next option is forward air. The same crate to Texas is $170.00 but they don't have a size or weight limit. JD

RCGF 26cc won't run
I have two new RCGF 26cc engines and having problems with both of them. The first one will only run if is on full choke. As soon as you take it off it dies. The second one will only start if I pull the plug and put some fuel in the cylinder. As soon as it burns up the fuel it dies. For some reason neather one will pull fuel through the carbs. Any one have any ideas. I hate to have to send them off for repair.

RE: Something isn't right with my ESM JU87b stuka kit
Some of the wings from ESM have dowels at the trailing edge and some didn't. I only use AeroPoxy from BVM to glue my wings and stabs together. Trust me the wing will rip into before the glue joint fails. If it is good enough for 200mph jets it's a over kill for our Warbirds. JD

RE: ESM Landing gear question?
The outer part unscrews from the fill valve . You can use a piece of air line to attach to it and use a small electric air pump. JD

RE: ESM P47 Build
Michael. There should be some bslsa blocks or a balsa strip on the inside of the trailing edge of the stab so the hinge point have something to hold on to. All the ones I have built the balsa strip was there. JD

RE: Gas Motor Options for ESM 70
For the money a RCGF 26cc rear carb The only hole to cut in the cowl is for the exaust outlet and spark plug. Tomas at VQ can hook you up with the engine and Kello exaust. JD

RE: ESM 82
I have built alot of the ESM planes. The retracts are fair. If you plan on doing a lot of flying I would go with Serra or CJM retracts. From what every says on the forum not many like them. The rest of the pane is great. JD
