RE: Sundowner 50 Arf
Why would you close up an inlet? I thought if you had both inlets open and open the outlet would work..I don't see how restricting the inlet air helps.

Go with a saito....Or cut a hatch in the back of the plane for the battery..

My saito 82 has started shaking pretty bad.No crashes or anything. About 3 gallons thru it..Top end is 400 rpm's from peak...low end is 1/32nd rich from where it dies when you go WOT....It shakes so bad at full throttle that it is hard to hold on to the HSN..Any ideas?

Dx7 throttle kill switch
I have read the manual a few times and looked on here. I am sure I am just missing something. I am in the process of putting all of my planes on my new dx7..I have having a hard time trying to find how to activate the throttle kill..On my dx61 it was easy but I am lost on this one

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !
ORIGINAL: w8ye You have to run a wire out there with a dog leg offset in it to reach the throttle arm. Like was done on this plane that originally had a 46FX engine The only thing about a FG-20 is you cannot run a wire all the way or you will get RF interference. You have to transition from plastic to wire at a bellcrank alongside the engine mount
Does the throttle bind up with that setup?
ORIGINAL: jdan I just received my Yak,to replace the one I've been flying for almost a year. The first thing I noticed was, the elevator joiner is almost an 1/8'' narrower than my first one. Maybe that's the cause of some of them breaking off. I don't know why they would change something that was working fine.
Where did you get a replacement from?

RE: Introducing the new 90-1.20 Yak QB
I am just saying that aero works reccomends the saito 100 for this plane. Why are we so hung up on using what they say but we go way over board on the engine?

RE: Introducing the new 90-1.20 Yak QB
They also reccomend a saito 100. I have yet to hear of anyone using or even liking that motor in it..I am just simply saying that sometimes they might go a bit over board on things they sell to help recover the cost of the plane..They expect you to buy the servos from them which have a 100% or more mark up on them.. This was a quote from the last page..Looks like the 100 did not even make the list Saito 1.25 (Adequate power, can hover, o.k. pull-out)

i had a control horn pop off of my yak at it was at higher speed and i almost lost the plane because of the flutter I guess even the things they supply break..

Yeah you are right mine is a 60 size. But it weighs 8 pounds and yours calls for 9-10. But as far as larger control surfaces that is a flase statement..Not trying to start a war just stating I have had good luck with them

I have a mojo 60 size with an os 91 2 stroke on it. It is nothing for me to do full throttle snaps... 134 flights on it as of last night with 821's all around

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !
ORIGINAL: TexasSkyPilot I agree with W8ye, Saitos aren't supposed to scream, that's not what they were made to do. They are 4-strokes and need to be under some load. They'll give you some RPMs but they are made as 4-strokes to provide torque. A healthy Saito sounds throaty for its size. You may have propped yours down too much there. Jim
I have it tuned for 10,500 static rpm's.Down from 11,000..I also not looking for a screamer. It's on a twist. I never fly it full out. It is just the only prop I have had on it that gives me the best tourqe and rpm. Get's me off of the ground in a hurry and has plenty of pull out. Should I go to a 14x4 xoar?

But seems If I up and flip the plane alot then chop the throttle it dies.Any ideas? Ps. I put on a xoar 13x4 prop today. Holy crap did that make a huge difference.Takes off like a rocket
