RE: What can cause a turbine to overheat?
I have (twice) see a turbine have issues with rubbing and getting red hot at the aft. The issue was a high sulphur kero fuel. Sadly it did this on two seprate turbines on the same fuel. Something in it caused it to overheat which expanded things too much and it began to rub. Locally pumped and did not know that the fuel was sub-standard. Yes ss races in the bearing can be bad and pitted also. Change fuel. Then if possible change out your temp probe also, but likely not the issue. Hope this helps John

RE: Glassing
Pete, you mentioned you are mixing different %s of hardners, (I'm guessing to get faster cure times) Perhaps that is the issue. Invertmasters, Peel method is great, what systems West resin do most people prefer?

RE: Yellow Aircraft Mako Build Thread
Busdriver I think the yellows combined between the two conformals are 48 oz. I was thinking of the yellow f18s being 32.

RE: Yellow Aircraft Mako Build Thread
Busdriver I think the yellow conformals for the f16 are 32oz or 42. You need to remember these were designed of DF and 32 oz was a perfect amount of fuel. Youre going to be hard pressed to fuel in the wings on this bird. The wings are thinnnnnnnn. I think jettech makes conformals also at about 60 to 72 oz, but that is a BUNCH of nose weight at take off. YOu maybe able to mold some custon tanks. I think the jet techs have to go inbefore the intake due to their size, which makes them non servicible once installed. Hope this Helps. John

Aeroloft.com, never used them and seem pricy. You may think you are on the wrong website, but you just need to scroll down.

RE: Yellow Aircraft Mako Build Thread
Busdriver, Shaun is in production on a play right now and will likely be tied up on that for about 2 weeks. Im sure he will chime in here, but it may take him a bit longer to respond. Quick note, this bird flys great on a small turbine, the trick is finding room for the fuel. A centerline wet tank works well, but finding one is tuff to do. The BVM was the perfect wet tank (user modded of course). Hope this helps. Cheers.

RE: Airbrush Woes.....
I have see the Grex in action at the AMA show, and it sprays well!!!!! Very user friendly and will spray fine or large with the press of a finger. Quick and simple! The price at the show was $200 for the gun and about $400 for the gun and their spray compressor setup. Very nice, but pricy. We can go in on one together. It'll be like both ours, but we'll just keep it down at my house..............
