RE: JetCat = The Best Turbine in Today's Market
"You know what they say, opinion's are like a$$holes, everyone has one, some of them stink." that is a perfect quote especially from who it is coming from. In my opinion, that is like saying that Ford stinks because I drive a Chevy. There are a lot more Jetcats out there then the other brand but I see a lot of guys at events having starting problems with brand x but Jetcats seem to have far fewer problem. If you really think about it Jetcat has been around a lot longer so there are many versions out there still flying from all the way back when Ram was still around. Their quality and reliability cannot be matched by the competition. But that is just my opinion. The good thing is that competition only helps advance improvements and keeps cost in control

RE: Trainer Jet
Boomerang Elan or BVM bobcat if you want a plane that flys like a high wing prop trainer plane then get the shokjet but you really want to learn how to fly a jet stay away from it

RE: Engine angle on Kingcats, why ???
I have a bobcat with a jetcat p-120 when I built it I drilled the mount incorrectly for the length of the turbine which caused me to angle the turbine down even more with washers under the front screws. I flew it that way for 4 years with no problems then I started to fly off grass and a cloth material it caused lots of problems burning the grass and cloth runway. I re-drilled the mount and it is now 0 degrees down and it made little or no difference in flying if anything it has a better vertical.

RE: 2010 RCU Jet Forum Readers Choice - Best Turbine Company
I have five jets and five turbines all from jetcat had a crash sent it to jetcat with another p-120 which had over 70 hrs on it, the crashed turbine was a titian they upgraded it to a p160se and had them both back in two weeks no problems and for a lot less then I ever expected. The best thing that has happened is with more companies producing turbines it is keeping the prices in check and make the manufactures make more improvements to their products to keep competitive. I will not switch what has been working for me as I would not expect you from changing your opinion of what is working for you. One thing I have never done is buy a used turbine I do not have x-ray vision to see what if any internal problems exist in a used turbine. In saying that you have to trust the people working on them. I trust Jetcat with all my turbines and they have never let me down. One thing to think about is how long jetcat is been selling turbines so the number that need to go back for their normal service is much greater than that of the other manufactures just because of the number of turbines in the field. With that in mind it amazes me how quick and responsive Bob is and always very helpful.

RE: 2010 RCU Jet Forum Readers Choice - Best Turbine Company

RE: 2010 RCU Jet Forum Readers Choice - Best Turbine Company
I thought this was funny it came from the movie Tommy Boy Tommy: Let's think about this for a sec, Ted. Why would somebody put a guarantee on a box? Hmmm, very interesting. Ted Nelson, Customer: Go on, I'm listening. Tommy: Here's the way I see it, Ted. Guy puts a fancy guarantee on a box 'cause he wants you to feel all warm and toasty inside. Ted Nelson, Customer: Yeah, makes a man feel good. Tommy: 'Course it does. Why shouldn't it? Ya figure you put that little box under your pillow at night, the Guarantee Fairy might come by and leave a quarter, am I right, Ted? [chuckles until he sees that Ted is not laughing] Ted Nelson, Customer: [impatiently] What's your point? Tommy: The point is, how do you know the fairy isn't a crazy glue sniffer? "Building model airplanes" says the little fairy; well, we're not buying it. He sneaks into your house once, that's all it takes. The next thing you know, there's money missing off the dresser, and your daughter's knocked up. I seen it a hundred times. Ted Nelson, Customer: But why do they put a guarantee on the box? Tommy: Because they know all they sold ya was a guaranteed piece of shit. That's all it is, isn't it? Hey, if you want me to take a dump in a box and mark it guaranteed, I will. I got spare time. But for now, for your customer's sake, for your daughter's sake, ya might wanna think about buying a quality product from me.

RE: 2010 RCU Jet Forum Readers Choice - Best Turbine Company
The greatest thing about having multiple turbine manufacturers that are producing good product is it keeps price in check and quality and innovation up I like my Ford better then your chevy that is all this is about if it works for you and you are happy with it then you found the right product for your needs

RE: Bandit ARF vs Super Bandit
I have both the Superbandit is made to take as much speed as you can give it i have a Titian in mine it flys on rails but is very easy to stall due to the heavy wing loading the ARF is much lighter bigger wing and flaps it flys almost as good but not build as strong so becareful how fast you make it but i dont think you can stall it, it will slow down to a crawl it is a less stressful plane to fly

RE: This could not have happened at a worse time...
This will be my last post here because this is what I am trying to stop this post should be closed it is not doing anyone any good. In Florida we are still flying at some airports but there have been ones they have stopped, for example jets over the swamp was one of the best jet events in the area and we all were very welcomed there to fly one pilots complaints to the faa and we were banned from flying there this type of post just puts ideas in people’s heads and will make it easier for a complaint to get us shut down faster

RE: This could not have happened at a worse time...
Is this a jet forum. I thought this forum was to pass on building tips and techniques and to post pictures and info on events, this is getting very long winded . how is this helping? Keeping this open is just putting a bad accident on the top of this form giving anyone that comes in a reason why the airports should stop letting rc fly at full scale airports. just my thoughts
