RE: question about electric start
Do you have an instructor? You're from Philly corrrect? there has to be all kinds of RC clubs around...go there and ask around there will be someone to take you up on a buddy box. A sim is not an instructor. there is so much more an instructor will teach you than flying....Good Luck

RE: Need help Aileron flutter
Gentlemen......I agree sealing the hinge line is not a cure for flutter...no more than a cough drop is for a cold.....in my post I said that my friend sealed his hinge line.....and later his aileron servo came out of the wing with the wood that it attached to still screwed to the servo.....you must have slop somewhere to have flutter......and an aileron servo not properly attached to a wing would do it....all I am suggesting is to take a careful look at your aileron mounting bracket in the wing....as there is a history of at least one servo coming out of the wing.....Good Luck

If you are used to being inside radio equipment...then try and order the switch from a service center or Radio south.....if not send it in for repair

RE: os 61 fx fuel delivery problems
Engines need a little back pressure to run well...sounds like your tuned pipe either isn't giving you enough back pressure or the line to the tank is leaking probably at the muffler if it is the same exhaust line......

RE: Need help Aileron flutter
Carefully check the aileron servo mounting brackets. A friend of mine had your airplane seals the hinge line but a few flights later the aileron sevo came out od the wing on landing..with the wood it was screwed to

RE: Easy question 4.0v and 6.0v how low?
does your digital voltmeter apply a load to the battery? If not don't use it because it only gives you the voltage in a no load condion....as soon as you apply a load such as turning on the airplane the voltage can drop.....alot of airplanes have been lost checking battery voltage with a standard voltmeter

RE: Cutting Shapes in Monokote
for letters I'll use a stencil and draw on the back of the monokote with a sharpie.....sharpie can be removed with alcohol......for a pattern I'll try a template and use the same process.....use the wet method to apply the design....good luck

RE: What do you do about
I bet your not so busy you cant wait 15 mins to fly....sit and wait for them to come down.......the problem of not flying the pattern....needs to be addressed before it gets out of hand.....if you have talked to these two guys and they continue to fly against the pattern....depending on your club there should be a grevance form you can fill out, that reqires the board to take action.......usually a formal letter that warns you of your conduct and that if you continue. you will be expelled from the club......I know this sounds harsh but you should see my club....most of the fixed wing flyers have gone to another club, I've seen 4 mid airs in 3 years....too many oh that was close to count.... the problem just gets worse.......good luck

RE: fuel filling options with cowl
Fuel dot over a fuel filler....a filler will eventually leak......I run 2 clunks in my tank....one from the fuel dot and one to the carb.....that way I can defuel from the fuel dot at the end of the day......you won't flood the carb using a 3 line system....at least I don't.....I run my cowled engines sideways....fill til you spill out the muffler......

RE: A powered Thermal Glider as a first plane ?
exactly why I said too many good 4 channel trainers out there if the student desires to fly 4 or more channel airplane.....you don't practice football to play basketball........why not start learning from day one to fly a glow powered aircraft?

RE: A powered Thermal Glider as a first plane ?
Looks like I am going to go against the grain here.......there are just too many good 4 channel planes available that aren't that expensive, that would justify starting out on anything but a 4 channel trainer.....as long as that is where the student wants to wind up on a 4 channel or more airplane...... It is much harder to un-learn something than it is to learn to learn something.

RE: Servos
As long as the servo you use has the speed and torque you need you'll be ok. Hi-Tech makes good servos. If you buy the same servo of over 3 or more you can usually get a bulk discount, you have to ask for it though.

They make a 2.4 module that plugs into the back where the current 72 module is......un-do the 72 antenna, pop out the 72 module, pop in the 2.4 module and there you go

RE: TX battery replacement
depeds on what you consider ok......in a perfect word....If it took you 15 hours to charge a 600 mAh battery with your wall wart charger......you step up tp a 1200 mAh battery then it will take 30 hours to charge using the same wall wart charger....... mAh is just a term to give us an idea of a batteries capacity......so if you hooked up a 600 mA load to a 600 mAh battery. the battery would last an hour ideally. You can go bigger if you like with longer charge times....but remember when you're battery was new you were ok........Try hobby city,,,cheap with about a 10 day lag time to get your order
