ORIGINAL: ModellbauUK  Well we're nearly home having stayed the extra night. What a brilliant event, surpassed all my expectations. Great joint venture with FCT tanks, thanks Saleem and Mark for your support over the weekend and Mark for sharing the driving. At least I got a chance to go around the other traders to say high and to see some of the flying Glamping was an experience but a hotel is calling for next year without doubt. You live and learn On the a very successful event for us and nice to be going back with an van devoid of boxes.  Ian
HI great to meet you guys and really glad you had a great jet-power,on the review side drop me an email or tel number and we can have a chat regards Keith

RE: FLY EAGLE JET models 2012
ORIGINAL: Jetfan20 Hey James...You may want to have the company run the string to pull the servo leads through if the boxes are pre-installed. From my previous experience of building your Hawk, once the boxes are installed it is pretty tough to get the leads through without the preinstallation of string. I ran string into the box areas before gluing the boxes in place. If they are pre-installing during the mold process, it would be pretty simple for them to run the string for both the ailerons and the flaps as there isn't much room once installed. Something to consider! BTW-Waiting on my custom painted Large Hawk patiently!
Hi use the plastic inner from a control rod, insert from root end, using a twisting motion to get it through, tape servo leads to end and pull through, done this many times never fails regards Keith

RE: Which large hawk?
ORIGINAL: rbxbear44 But you still are a SM dealer! The FEJ Hawk is a great airframe for sure. Have built 6 now and flown all but one for others. Started building and flying them almost 3 years ago when they first came out. From day one they were fantastic, even before the Honeycomb construction. I have one on the bench right now and I see so much in the way of quality and clean layups. It's a great airframe to put together. So many of these are in the air now with well over 100 flights on the airframes. You cannot beat the Stab setup either as far as robust in design and strength. I don't know about the overseas markets as far as customer service but here in the US, it is absolutely wonderful. Best of luck on your Hawk selection. Rex
DITTO DITTO same after sales in UK,second to none.

RE: Which large hawk?
Hi i am on my third FEJ large Hawk not that i have broken any but people just want to buy them,i just can not live with out one, with the new full composite constuction and every thing is in the package that you need it is good value for money, down side is just a little work on things like the aeiral on top of the model which is far to thick and you would have a very nice model. No problems with retracks or air rams all three of mine have all worked perfectly and fly great on a good 160/9minute flights are normal with fuel left for a go round, upload for pics not working will try later regards Keith Tanks hold 5 LTRS approx

RE: Fly Eagle Jet Hawk 1/4.5 Honeycomb
Hi I am now on my third FEJ HAWK 1.4/5,the others got sold!! but i just can,t live with out one,i have never had a problem with air leaks with any of them but i do use two large air tanks witch in total hold one liter of air at 100psi for all air system, watch out for the flaps you will not need to much 30 degrees i have found is plenty any more you will need power to maintain air speed,i only use full flap on a calm day, good luck i am sure you will love it regards Keith

RE: Fly Eagle Vs Jet legend Vs Skymaster vs Fei Bao
Hi All at the end off the day we are all looking for value for money,if you need BVM quailty you pay BVM prices,i have built and flown over 10 FEJ models, yes in the early days they had some problems with leaking cylinders and heavy models.I have just completed my second FEJ HAWK with the light weight constuction and if it flys as well as my first i shall be well satisfied. At least with FEJ the model comes complete with everything NO extras to add on with a second to none after sales service.I am not sure why they do not advertise there prices but just drop James an email and he will normally come back with a price within the hour and it will be very competative if not cheaper than any of the other chinese companys regards Keith

RE: SCALE JETS OVER RAYDON
ORIGINAL: DAVID WILDE Hi Slick 33, Some of you maybe aware that 3 years ago we were going to hold this event but we had a local complain about noise so we as a club decided not to go ahead with that meeting a similiar situation to Bickley jets which i understand they cancelled there's two years back now. The complaint we found out later was not to do with turbine jets, however, the reason we have gone for scale jets is that they are generally a lot quieter because most are fully ducted installations and they are not flown at 300mph so don't take up so much sky. It also gives the spectators more exciting aircraft to look at . Our last failed attempt had about 30 pilots booked in and we were hoping to have a good warm up meeting ready for the Bickley jets in June .Because we have a good grass field of about 300 metres any scale jet can be flown from here.I have even flown John Wright's Horten from here and we are picky were we fly this model. We had quite a few bickley members book in last time and we also like to reciporate there meeting too.Two good jets meetings reasonably local within a month of each other and of course perefect weather. As this is our first proper jet meeting we are going to restrict it to about 30 pilots so please book in as soon as possible so you get a place. I will try and get a few shots of the airfield and i will put up an aerial map of the site shortly. Dave wilde event organiser
Hi Dave your comment on scale only will certainly put people off,any scale model with a bifucated duct is much louder than any sport model,i could come along and bring my AT3 but it is a very loud model, how ever my bobcat is much quieter which one should i bring???? By the way your Rafell is a noisey model so do you class that as quite!!sorry but looks like i best go to West Raynam, pity as i would liked to have come along, Hope you all have a good day and hope that the weather is better than of late regards Keith

RE: Distance from pipe to turbine
ORIGINAL: bonanzadrv Most of the builds I have done have used a bypass.... I am working on installing a p-80se with no bypass. How far should the pipe be behind the turbine??? I am using a bell mouth on the pipe. what part of the turbine do you measure off?? back on burner can (where the tail cone bolts on??) or end of the tail cone???? Also it is a skymaster dual wall pipe..... Thanks Guys Bill
If the tail cone is too close or inside the exhaust pipe the pipe will collapse because the pressure inside the pipe will be less than the outside,[:o]i have done this on the bench with a exhaust pipe on a ajustable rig, the pipe was moved back and forth untill the thrust was at maximum output and the gap was optimised[;)]

RE: Fly Eagle A-7 Corsair Build
ORIGINAL: jeteye Installed the 8711 JR servos.  Both will be sheilded with BVM ceramic blanket.  Probably won't need it, but want to make sure.  Also used hangar 9 turnbuckles and Dubro 4-40 links.  This application has proved to be very reliable in all of my planes.  Make very there isn't any binding.  Notice the links are installed as far away from the pipe as possible (back side).
Why use plastic ball links when metal ones are avalable, just a heads up,best be safe than sorry,it Will get quite warm down there regards Keith
