RE: Tomahawk-Design Bae Hawk 1: 3.5
Hi Would like to know how do you guys transport this bird. Do you split the fuse in 2 pieces? Are using a trailer or does it fit a SUV or van? Regards

How many deaths in the US for car accidents? She's soooooo sweet[:D] Regards Nuno

RE: Which large hawk?
The earlier Big Hawk models have different fuel tanks. Maybe yours is an early one and those were bigger The mod was made, to allow to install turbine in a forward position and avoid adding too much nose weight Compare the one in my previosly pic and the ones I have attached from another plane: Maybe Del Gato is an early one as well, if you fly 7min. Can you or Anton can make a comment why was this mod made, but I don't feel comfortable with only one of these tanks using a P160. Last pic shows a New fuel tank and intake mod with a second fuel tank that SM says it is not available (don't seem to affect CG that much. Seems the better setup, but where to find this tank?????? RE: Servos for Skymaster Large Hawk?
Hi I am a Futaba guy and used 9156 for elevator and flaps, BLS451 for ailerons and BLS153 for Rudder. IMy kit as 2 years old and as not yet been maiden. I have a P160 but the fuel tank is very small-less than 3 liters. Do you have 1 fuel tank? Did you measured it? Thanks Nuno

RE: Which large hawk?
Hi I am really happy with my SM kit. I have painted the plane and made an opening canopy and have seen both planes from SM and FEJ in detail and flying. If I would buy another Hawk this size, would be SM mainly for the detail in frame, landing gear and cockpit. Someone posted about fuel capacity and this really concerns me for a P160 use. It holds arround 3 liters capacity with only 1 tank. Clearly short for a 160 I already asked them for another tank but not available[:(] FEJ uses 3 tanks with arround 5lt Bottom line, whatever you choose, you'll have some fun for sure. Regards Nuno

RE: Hydraulic Fluid for Struts
Hi Use rc car shock absorber silicon oil. You can make it softer or stiffer, depending on the plane. You could start at 600Cst and go up. Regards Nuno

RE: JetCat Startmotor Specs
Hi What matters is what tension the ECU delivers to the motor. Did you measured the starter motor tension while running? A 6V speed 300 won't fry with a 6 cell pack running a starter motor in a turbine. I believe the motor is a slighly modified speed 300, but the same motor as fuel pump. Regards Nuno

Hello Megafly Even with a P120, 3 liters is quite short... It would be nice to hear some feedback from Hawk owners. What second tank are you guys using? Regards Nuno

RE: Large SM Hawk ?
Hi The tank as bit less than 3 liters. I have just asked SM for a second tank. Since this plane is for a 120 to 160N turbine, 3 liters won't be enough. Would be nice to know what are you guys using as fuel supply. What second tank are you using? Yeah, I have an opneing canopy[:D] Regards Nuno

RE: Looking for Tams Failsafe
What about if you have 9 gear doors, airbrakes and air operated wheel brakes? Electric gear is here to stay but I don't have any issues with a properly installed air system. My Tam gear fail safe never worked[8D] Do you have a good source for e retracts and specially e actuators for doors? Regards Nuno

RE: Lipo Fire in Garage
Hi Andy Glad it didn't got into big damage. I always take my lipos out of the plane to charge, but many times there are other flamable objects arround. From the pics, seems that you did't have the balance plug connected. I always balance lipos during charging so that the balancer can detect peak voltage per cell. I was planning in buying one of these 4 pack charger at 1 time, but now it seems that those cannot beat my old reliable Orbit charger. Still prefer to wait 3 hours to charge 3 packs[;)] Good luck in the next charge[:D] regards Nuno

Hi Besides that I would use metal links or ball links. Plastic ball links can cook and crack. I also would use a piece of balsa covered with alu tape Regards Nuno

RE: Maj. Woody's X-Treme Jets BAE Hawk 1/5.5
Hi Dom Sorry for your loss. Been there and know how it feels, but in the end it won´t beat you[;)] I use this arms with sucess, cause they are shorter and tend to flex less. The knife edge you made and the noise could be flutter that end up to damage the servo spline. I know these splines and they are way to big to use in jets. Also they are taller so tend to flex more. The rudder set-up is not correct and since the arm is taller, it could twist under load if throw is way too much. I have used this servo set-up with ball links at both ends. What aluminium arms are you guys using? SWB are TOO big to use in jets. I have arround 150 flights with these in my F18, but now....... Best regards Nuno

RE: Tamjets Gear Failsafe
Hi Mark, Yes it can, as long as you have both doors and gear installed in the same pneumatic circuit. Also be sure to have a large tank to avoid a drastic pressure drop in the event of a leak. That would leave the doors or gear half way. If you use separate pressure tanks for gear and doors, both should be connected to the Tams device making both as only one circuit. Also both gear and doors have to use ONLY 1 CHANNEL Regards Nuno
