Starmax F-18 90mm Landing Gear that Works!!!
Hey guys! I just came up with a very nice and very functional landing gear system for the Starmax F-18C Hornet. The plane is now very useable and the gear is reliable for use on grass.... I put it all in video form so that all can make the improvement! It can all be done for about $50 to $75 Bucks! Check it out and please comment on the video! Enjoy! Rich http://youtu.be/wlGZ84CKNik

Strangely, I start all my Jetts with a hand flip of the spinner and they start right up! The long nose spinners make it easy. Do you know off hand what is the break-in prop for the 56LX? 9X7? Someone made a electric jackal hitting the 180s.... wonder what speeds the Jett 56s have been putting out? Rich

RE: H9 Jackal 50 Prop Jet
Hey Bob! I have been distant from the hobby but am getting back into it with a vengance! Just finished up my Jackal W/Jett 56 package as well.... I also used a bubbless tank and electric retracts/doors. I am now producing High quality HD videos and posting them on youtube under the name RCINFORMER. I will be putting out several videos on the Jackal shortly discussing Jett motors and Tanks. Both you and Dubb may find them usefull for promotion and knowledge for customers on the Jett site. The videos will be similiar to but superior to the SU-27 video I made for you guys back in 2005! good to see the video is still available.... even now i still get email about it. All my contact info is available on rcinformer.com Anyway its good to be doing more R/C again.... talk with you soon. Rich Baker

exactly right! I painted the canopy black from the inside and tape it on with white electrical tape.... screwing it on just makes it crack. I really want a version 3 plane with the latch on canopy.

RE: THE NEW CERMARK F-16 BUILD IT BETTER, STRONGER, AND FASTER!!!
Steve, I think you need to make a list..... you could probably fill a container and do one more production run. I would even be willing to put down a deposit. Version 3 really was the best Prop jet arf! my version 2 was great, but was a bit bulkier, heavier, and not as fast as the version 3. Who ever re-tooled V3 got it right. I would just produce an AIRFRAME ONLY arf to keep the cost down... and forget about the hardware.... most dont use it anyway.... We can get our own hinges, fuel tanks, screws, pushrods, etc.... Set it up for retracts but do not include any...... most will probably get a set of electrics from e-flite. You can probably produce the airframe cheap. If i can help you set this thing up in any way... let me know! Rich

RE: THE NEW CERMARK F-16 BUILD IT BETTER, STRONGER, AND FASTER!!!
To bad.... The F-16, especially version 3 was a winner.... it was way better and faster than version 2. Even I would buy a version 3 if you put them out again. I started this thread with the version 2 plane.... version 3 was the best prop jet available. Rich Version 2 in action!

Hey RCER88, I also have had good experiences with all my hobbyking stuff. I am interested in getting the 9x as well. Have you used any of the P-mixers on the Turnigy 9x? I am wondering How useable the mixers are and if they operate in the same way other radios such as JR operate or if they have any limitations I am not aware of. I want to use the radio for EDF jets with thrust vectoring. Can U use the same master for more than one mix? Thanks Rich

Hi, You have the origional Heim bell 222. Circa early 1980's. They were expensive at the time.... but probably the best flying models of their time. I have the same model. I need to resurect mine as well. Spares are hard to come by.... let me know if you find a place who has parts. I have a few parts.... let me know what you need and i will let you know if i can spare some of my spares..... Here is a cool link I just found today.... Actually... this is weird... for some strange reason I became interested in flying mine again ...just this morning.. so i began looking around.... the link: http://www.vrhc.co.uk/RC%20Helicopters/Germany/Heim/Heim.htm Rich

DJ, How was it to balance your PC-21 with the ZDZ 40 in it? Did you need any tail weight or nose weight? The ZDZ 40 is around 3lbs I was wondering if you had to use any drastic weight to balance it out? I am building one now and will probably go electric. Thanks Rich

RE: Skyshark p40 with a DA 85
Terry, I used to teach some aerodynamics during my flight instructor days. It looked to me that Torque was rolling you over to the left..... combined with P-factor, gyroscopic precession, spiraling slipstream and just a lot of power. That huge prop and a lot of power will over come any control inputs, especially at slow airspeeds. Thats what used to cause many warbirds, especially powerful ones with big propellers (like P-51's), to crash during takeoff and landing. P-40s were powerful and were very short coupled worsening the problem. Do you remember adding power just before the plane rolled to the left? Since both of your crashes happened on landing, at slow speeds, with a roll to the left.... that would be my guess. I bet that plane was a rocket..... Do you have any video of it with the throttle open at high speed? Rich
