RE: How to ship to Canada from North Carilina
No preference except to think that rail freight would be impractical on such a small shipment. I went to a website for a quote from a logistics provider and he told me I would also need a customs broker and they would charge about $150-$300 - just for their services! If true, that would make the whole thing impractical.

How to ship to Canada from North Carilina
I have a request from a possible buyer to ship a plane to a postal code in Canada. I have a box to use that was just sent to me with a similar sized airplane. The box is 6'x3'x2'. How can I do this? Greyhound and UPS are not options. Too big for UPS and GPX does not go cross border into Canada. Thanks for any suggestions. John Gaither Blowing Rock, NC zinkracer@gmail.com

RE: DX8 will not charge
Hi, Andy! You are probably right. Any idea how long it might be gone if I ship this week? John

AR6000 rx will not bind to DX8
I bought a used electric ultra stick. It came with a Spectrum AR6000 park flyer RX. I cannot get it to bind to my fairly new DX8. I substituted my nw Spectrum park flyer RX that came with my new radio. I was able to bind with that one. The seller used this RX for about 18 months without having to re-bind after the initial bind. Any ideas? Might it be some kind of software compatibility thing? A patch fix? Thanks! John Gaither Blowing Rock, NC

DX8 will not charge
My almost new DX8 will not charge its internal battery. I think we screwed up. We used a balancing charger and an aftermarket plug to fast charge the battery at the field. The manual says not to do that, and I had forgotten. The bluish charge light no longer lights up when the included charger is plugged into the radio. So - besides sending it back for an undetermined period of time, what might others have learned about this and how to deal with it. I have not checked yet with Horizon to see how long the radio might be gone. I am in the middle of some serious flying - like many of us. Surely there must be some other way to charge this battery besides using the standard slow wall charger. Appreciate any guidance. John Gaither Blowing Rock, NC zinkracer at gmail dot com

RE: Setting up my DX8 - for spins, snaps, hammers
Mr. Hoosier - WOW. That is pretty amazing. Sometimes these things just work out. Now, if we could just translate this to the DX8, I'd be fixed. I think I can somewhat, but I will have to fool around with it some. I wish Horizon Hobby was more helpful. I left my phone number on the help line so they could call me back and no result so far from yesterday. For others seeking to set up a sophisticated plane to fly the way you really want it to, you should download this document and read it. It is very good! Thanks again to Hoosier06. RE: Setting up my DX8 - for spins, snaps, hammers
I just found an old printed document written by Len Alessi dated 5-24-2002 which has incredible detail about setting up your plane and trimming it using the 10X. The answers I seek are in here for the 10X. I wonder if there exists an electronic version of this same document as well as a similar one for using the DX8? This is really good stuff and I would like to share with those interested - but only electronically. Anyone have a PDF for the DX8 and / or the 10X? JAG

Setting up my DX8 - for spins, snaps, hammers
I am getting used to my new DX8 radio after a long layoff from flying. I flew a 10X some years back. I have figured out how to set up dual rates for ail/elev/rudd and assign them to my Flight Mode switch on the top of the radio. I also want to set up 3 special flying conditions for snaps, Hammers, and Spins. I recollect that all 3 are somewhat different in setup. I had all this worked out on my 10x by using the rudder dual rate switch on the top right of the radio. However, it was a long time ago and I cant remember how to do this and the manual is not clear. Can anyone step me through this process so I can set up special control throws for each surface for these 3 maneuvers? Many thanks. JAG Blowing Rock, NC

RE: H9 Carden Edition Yak versus CompARF Yak
Yes, both planes are RTF. Thanks for your input. The decision may rest on the engine. I really like DA motors and have owned 3 of the DA100's.

H9 Carden Edition Yak versus CompARF Yak
I am contemplating a purchase of a 50cc plane and would like to see some thoughts on these two aircraft. Quality, flying characteristics, price ready to fly, etc. I have found nice examples of both. A CompARf with the DA50 for $1300 and the H9 with Evolution 58 for $1100. I know nothing about the reputation of the Evolution engines. Does anyone have thoughts on these two airframes and enignes? Thanks for any guidance. JG

Value of new RTF Raptor 50
A gentleman would like to trade with me on an airplane deal. I am not a heli flyer and would only want to sell this heli if I trade for it. I am seeking some guidance on its worth to sell reasonably quick. Here is his brief description: its a raptor 50 in a md 530 fuse i think it would be a pretty good trade for both of us and you can could get 1500 out of the heli on a fast sell any day of the week. Sure would appreciate any input on this heli and its value on the current market. He says it was only flown once to set it up with the radio. John Gaither[image] Blowing Rock, NC
