RE: Getting back into it
I'm a nitro guy to the core. The electrics can be brutally fast, and very reliable, but for me nothing beats the fun of nitro. You have the sound, smell, and excitement with nitro. Sure tuning can be a bit frustrating at times, but it makes the success that much more reliable. As for the choices, i'd go losi.

Right now, i've got my 1994 S10, with a 2003 3rd gen. front end and interior. 4.3l W/ a 5 speed, it's pretty fun around town. You can't really see it in the pic, but they rear tires are 275/60/r15. I love the baby moons! My other ride, my baby, is my 2004 R1. Some of you may remember the thread i made when i bought a black 2005 r1, that was a about a year ago. I sold that, like an idiot, and got a 2006 zx14[:'(] Now, i'm back on a yamaha, with a vengeance [sm=punching.gif]

It has rained all this week, it depresses me. The biggest drawback besides the exhaust, is the fuel gauge. I HATE IT. It makes me more conscious my driving style, and i don't like that. Seeing the bad mileage kills me too...

Just got the right map on the PC3, got it all installed, LOTS MORE TORQUE! It actually handles a lot better than had expected. I was nearing getting the knee down on the R1, had completely gotten rid of the chicken strips on the tires, and i feel comfortable on the zx in fast turns. It's not quite as nimble, but once it's in a turn, it's more stable. Very comforting, seems to soak up the little un-nerving bumps in the road.

Yea, i figured something along those lines was coming my way. Oh well. In the 5-6 moths i had the R1, never had a wreck if that means anything. Just a quick cell phone pic from earlier, but it'll do.

RE: New Toy
Well, i finally sold the R1. It was a little under two weeks ago, but i did get something in return. I got a 2006 ZX-14, with just over 4k miles. I know...it's a 139, power danger, yea yea yea. The power is alot more on this bike, but less aggressive than the R1, easier to control. Their factory detuned under 4.5k rpm, but i removed the secondary butterflies the other day, and my PC3 will be here tomorrow so the right map will be on it. It'l give it the low end you'd expect from a bike of it's size, it was a little disappointing at first. I'll post pics later if you guys want, don't have the camera at the moment.

Nah, the Gathering will always roll on, as long a J is alive. It'd take a big hit if shaggy died, but i believe it would keep going. Their are too many fans for it not to go on, plus, icp has too many friends in the music industry. Not many huge names, but alot of talent. Tech n9ne for example. It was totally excessive though.

RE: New Toy
Yea, their cool. Sato and Toce make some mean sounding pipes. Sato makes some GP style pipes, and toce has some cool custom stuff. It's easy to modify your stock muffler(s) though, all you need is a drill, a rivet gun, and a little elbow grease. it took me and a friend about an hour to do both of mine, and that was working slowly. Just drill out the rivets holding the rear cap on, and pull out the baffles. You can either metal tape the baffle at this point, you'll probably have to unwrap it, or just remove the whole thing for a slightly different sound. Then, just slide the cap back on, and pop rivet it together. I did mine for about $25, the cost of a rivet gun, and a box of 5/32 rivets.

RE: New Toy
Made a few little changes to the bike since my last post[:D] First, i got new tires. The old ones had a flat spot, and were very worn. I went with Bridgestone BT-016's, just for a daily driver tire, with pretty good grip. Then, i took apart the Mufflers, and did some work on the baffles. By work, i mean, removing them. Each muffler is around a pound lighter, and it's actually got a little better of a sound, and a whole lot louder. The idle is a little strange sounding, you can hear the sound echo's in the can, but at any rpm over the 1400 idle, it sounds great. I'm going to try to put the angel eye headlights on there, like the bmw's have, though i'll use a red set up. An 80mm ring of lights from a computer fan will fit nicely, and stand up to the heat. Then, i'll get a new rear light with the turn signals integrated onto it. I'll keep the ones on the fender eliminator, but their hard to see, and i want something more for safety. More light showing where i'm going can't possible be bad.

RE: Engine Facts! Questions!
Well, the easiest choices are the Traxxas 3.3, the O.S. .18's, the Picco .26, and he RB 523. The general rule for cc is under 3.5, or a .21 engine. Though, you can bypass this with a big-block kit, and you can go up to the .28's, which are 4.6cc. I'd recommend sticking with the small blocks, and the mid blocks like the picco and the RB. They are .26, and .23, but use a smaller than normal big-block mount. they use a special mount, but are drop in with the new mounts. All will make your truck faster.

RE: Life without electricity...
A few years ago, our power went out in the mid summer. Late july i believe. Either way, the entire neighborhood was with out power for 2-3 days, depending on where you lived. Well, the same day we got out power back, my neighbor's tree fell into our house, punched a hole in the roof over my room, and took our power. It was another 6 days with out power in the Missouri summer. 95*+, with high humidity? You bet.

RE: pull start VRS ez-start?
From what i understand, it sounds like your EZ-start is very worn. I my self have always preferred the Pullstart for a couple of reasons: 1. No starter to carry around 2: Weight 3: It uses 4 screws to hold on instead of 3 4: The Plug igniter will get the plug hotter than the ez-start will. What you will need: 1: Pullstart unit 2: Glow plug igniter(i like my rechargeable one, lasts weeks) 3: Possibly a new one way bearing, in case yours is shot. If it's slipping, clean it and see hot it goes.

RE: New Toy
It's not so much that i was looking for a 1000cc class bike, it just happened to come across it. I was looking for a sport bike, as there weren't any harley's in the price ranges i was at, in the area. I was looking all over the area at everything, and found the R1 for a reasonable price, and it is in very good shape. Two days after i bought my bike though, a 2007 GSXR-750 went up for sale, with less than 4000 miles, for only 2800. Half the price, just as good of a bike[:@] It'll be alright though, i like my bike =)
