RE: WACO YMF
Brothers, there in a radial engine on Ebay worth drooling over. But I.m afraid the engine collectors will sent this one sky high without a plane. It's a Morton 5 cylinder of the vintage of our Wacos. Item #170131921741 Jim #9

John L., I wonder if you could give us a bit of instruction on rehardening music wire and even regular steel(?). I read an article on it once but didn't save it. Stuff like the color its heated to and how it's cooled. And any other "tricks" you use with metal. Thanks, Jim #9

RE: WACO YMF
Ken, if the engine is not at full power when the tailwheel leaves the ground then the rudder can not completely do the job that now it must do alone. Torque and/or crosswind will overpower it. This may not have been your problem, but it was mine at one time. Jim #9

Hey Ken, as best as I can remember(4 decades at least) broken heart(Creve Coeur) comes from the indian maiden that jumped to her death because of her broken heart and the lake that then took the shape of a broken heart. Part of my life was spent not too far from there. Jim #9

`Ken, that's truly great information and much appreciated. I take it that the fabric pulls out of the Stix-it sometimes. Thus the Ca? Tell us about your ventilation efforts. How bad is it on the eyes, nose, and fingers? family? thanks for the time and energy(that could have been used on your model)contribution to the Brotherhood. Jim #9

RE: ARF people - What are your reasons for not building kits?
I started out building and I did much, much more repairing than flying. But ARFs have allowed me to fly off the pond, at the slope or the field even with two or three wrecks in the shop. I'm a much better flyer now. My building projects right now(two tables) , one 113" sailplane and a Lou Andrews' Aeromaster. I just bought two complete biplanes at an auction. ... and one kit. Maybe neither group wants me.[:D]Basically, I don't see a problem here. oops, I almost forgot.. a friend(builder only) last week gave me a beautiful set of plans for the Grumman Duck which I've been talking about for some time....J

OK, if no one else is going to ask I guess I have too. In order to compare my planes with yours and try to make sense of this, what is the crutch. thanks, Jim #9

RE: WACO YMF
That kit was laser cut and only 15 years old. Maybe that is why, but I think this forum is largely responsible. Would someone please hazard a guess as to how much it would cost to buy the balsa ,ply and fiberglass parts that you would find in the kit. thanks, Jim #9

RE: WACO YMF
Hi guys, I usually read and run, but I meet the requirements of the WACO brotherhood and request membership #9 if it is available. I fly a GP Super Stearman and (if you won't tell anyone) a GWS foam Stearman. After finishing an Aeromaster kit I'll be ready for the sexiest plane in the sky,the Waco YMF. Thanks for all the tips, suggestions and information. Jim
