RE: Gas Engine interference
Having just had a similar problem with a gas engine and read what the OP has said it looks to me like the problem is he does not have a shielded HT lead or cap. I would suggest he replaces his ignition module with one that has a shielded lead and cap preferably one designed for an NGK plug. I replaced the cap on mine after having terrible problems getting the engine started and then to have the elevators go to full up when the engine did run, I fitted the new cap and soldered the braided sheath to the cap to make sure the earth path was complete. I found that tip on Just Engines site under replacing the 1/4 sparkplug caps. Hope this helps, by recently I mean first start Sunday replacement cap fitted Tuesday and flown yesterday. Jim. BTW I fly on 35mhz and after the cap change no interference at all.

RE: WWW.WHOLESALETRAINS.COM - aka Lantz Hobbies - Horseheads NY
Hi, I must be the only lucky one to order something from wholesaletrains and get his order with no problems, that was a few years ago but I was going on holiday to Florida and was looking for a replacement fuselage for a plane I dinged big time. I placed the order online from home and the parts I ordered arrived where we were living in Florida when they were supposed to, I guess I must have been lucky. Any way talking of trains we were in New York on holiday to celebrate an anniversary as a family, when I am on holiday I like to visit a model shop if possible but all the modelshops doing RC aeroplanes were not easily placed from Manhattan when you aren't too clued up on the local transport systems. The only place I could find was this place http://theredcaboose.com/trains.htm it was like going in to a time warp the place is jammed from floor to ceiling with all sorts of stuff, the other thing that is weird is you walk into the lobby of the building they are in then you find a door on the left and it opens straight into a stairwell and you then go down into who knows what till you get to the bottom of the stairs. It is definitely worth a visit no matter what you are into I found a really good reference book that I didn't have on the Skyraider, but there were lots of stuff that I had never seen before. Hope this is of some help. Jim.

Hi MISTERV glad you are doing well health wise, this got to were it is at because of one person's misguided view of the Olympic opening ceremony. I dread to think what he thought of the Morris dancers that I saw on the evening news, even in Scotland we think it odd but we all have our own national embarrassing activities. Jim.

Anyone who thinks this wasn’t an effort to effect an upcoming American election has there head in the sand. Americans don’t want it, polling data proves it. What I saw was another example of a failed liberal policy being sold as some great success. Both Great Brittan’s and Canada’s heath care systems suck and I want no part if it.
ORIGINAL: mike31 If I may, what do the Olympics have to do with R/C? I thought the Olympics were for amateurs, not professionals. ie basketball. Another group of sporting events all about the buck. Think I'm kidding, go try to buy a ticket!
Well said the Olympics were meant to be about amateur athletes taking part, I think you will find that in my estimation 80% or more of these entrants are professionals. All the football teams would appear to be so, the track athletes are there as well, not sure about the swimmers but if any one of them takes a penny more than expenses to me that makes them professionals. So it takes away the original ethos behind the games, big money wins again.

In the middle of this financial climate this money is only being used to swell the ego's of the prats supposedly running it. And it has been a shambles they can't give away tickets for the football/soccer, and on the news this morning there is a call for an enquiry into the rows of empty seats at supposedly sold out venues.

RE: Lost Spitfires located!
The P38 's where part of a squadron of aircraft ferrying over to the UK when they were caught in an arctic storm, the whole flight were forced down on a glacier on Greenland. The story has been told in the book The Lost Squadron, there were B17's and P38's in the flight to date as far as I know only one plane has been recovered and rebuilt Glacier Girl is it's name.

RE: Off Subject! Any Military/ex-Military here?
Hi British Army 1976-1984 as a vehicle mechanic, also worked on chieften tanks. Spent my basic training at Sunny Boredom{Bordon} then of to Germany finished up at Royal Artillery missile range on Benbecula in the outer Hebrides. I then worked for the Ministry of Defence working on plant equipment. I really enjoyed it and made some of the best friends in my life there, example being a few weeks ago I was at the christening of my friends grand daughter, who is the daughter of my god daughter. I don't know if other people find this but when I meet my old army friends we just hit it off like we were never apart. Jim.

RE: Are Scale RC Models Toys?
If I was to take a battery powered circular saw and remove the guard and then chuck it outof a car travelling at 50mph what would you call that, personally I would say that would be a dangereous piece of equipment and a damned stupid thing to do. But if we put wings on it it becomes a 40 size sport plane with the blade spinning twice as fast as the circular saw. So in my mind they are model airplanes not toys, if they were toy's and as dangerous as they potentially are they would be banned. They banned toy's for having paint with lead in it so what would the health and safety people do if they could get into our hobby. Jim www.modelclub.org

They probably sit at a TV playing some form of game station, "ON THEIR OWN OR WITH PEOPLE THEY CANT SEE ON THE INTERNET". We have a name for them here Norman no mates. Big mouths in the school yard but sitting on their own for ENJOYMENT. No sir you have became involved with what is in my opinion the best hobby in the world. As has been said before the losers who give you a hard time, can develop no skills in front of a TV you are developing numerous skills doing what you are doing. I agree go and get to the local track or flying field, and if your dad won't have nitro cars because he thinks it is dangerous roll that one back on him and ask him to help you operate it. He might even get properly involved himself. BTW I have been interested in aircraft all my life and flew control line, then tried to get into RC but, got motorbikes girlfriend/wife ,joined the Army and it stopped but like all true addicts here I am again.Out in my garage building a trainer to teach people to fly. Look forward and upward young man, you have made a good choice . Jim.

RE: Motivation lost...
I have a plan build called a Ruhig Tigre from a free plan in a model mag which I started when my daughter was a couple of months old, it fell to the back of the queue when a shelf collapsed and the back end of the fuselage got crushed it was a stringered fuselage so it didn't come off too well. My daughter is now 19 the wing is still waiting for the ailerons to be built so there is about a 10 hours or so to do the repair and bulid the ailerons. Over that time I have built loads of artf's rebuilds and other kits helped club members with their builds, 1 hour a year and it could be done by now. I just found out it was published in Radio Modeller on 1990. I will finish it but when !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Jim.
