computer power supply for a triton charger?
I have several generic power supplies that came out of old computers and was wondering if I am able to use the 12volt output out of the supply for my triton charger? A friend of mine said he remember reading an article about this but he thought that some mods were needed in order to do this. Just curious if I need to do anything other then finding the 12v wire output and go with that? Thanks Jeff

RE: Carl Goldberg Ultimate build
Well after about 3 winters of buillding a covering I finally flew my goldberg ultimate. I first flight I was so nervous I couldnt really enjoy the flight. I have alway read people telling stories of taking off during a maiden and never even touching the trims. this was honestly the first plane I only needed a couple of down and one click left and she was trimmed. I put a ys 120 in this plane and man what a rocket. I dont think it needs half of this motor but I think it will be a hoot when I get onto it. My first landing I came in alittle hot and really didnt flair much, not very glass smooth but no damage. My second flight was much better. Rolls were crisp and straight. Knife edge needed a slight pull on the elevator and actually had to feather the rudder control to keep it from going into a loop. The landing was ALOT better, straight in approach, throttle cut and a slight flair and greased right in. I am anxious to fly again when I wont be so nervous. Jeff

ys newbie questions
I am a new owner of a used ys nc 120 engine. I started it tonight for the first time in my ultimate that I kit built. It ran fine while hooked up to my glow starter, once I took off the glow starter the engine dropped almost to the point of dying and ran real rough and then would eventually start running backwards and die. After it died I get fuel running out the carb. Any suggestions on what might be wrong with this motor? I was hoping to maiden tonight but it will have to be another evening. thanks jeff

This engine is a .40 sf model. The above listed link is for a heli carb that will fit my motor. the listing shows it to have an outside diameter of 13.5mm. thanks Jeff

RE: Hangar 9 Funtana 40
I am being lazy and not back reading this thread. What flight charateristics does this wing mod help out with? I have one from when they first came out years ago. It has always been kindof jumpy and after a turn going back into level flight it always wants to climb. I have to also land this thing pretty hot to keep it from stalling, then with the extra speed just alittle of elevator input pops it back up in the air. I enjoy this plane but sometimes I think that another plane would fly better and easier. Thanks Jeff

I didnt notice that it said that it had an H behind the part #. I dont even see one listed on towers site under os carburator. Looks as if I might have to find a used engine just to get a carb. Thanks Jeff

.46 os dies, please help!!!
I have a .46 os engine that I am ready to throw in the trash. No matter what I do this thing will cut in and out, stumble choke and eventually die at half throttle or so. I have tinkered with the low needle and the upper needle with no change. I have fought this thing for 2 seasons now and havent been able to fly. I reringed it last year, I pulled the carb and took it apart and sprayed it down good with cleaner and blew out with air. All to no avail. I bought this motor used and flew it for 2 seasons without a problem. The 3rd season I had it die on me in midair and crashed and havent been able to get this thing right since. I have thrown my arms up on this one. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Jeff

RE: fiberglass cowl Paint/monokote?
deadeye what is it that you are using windex to apply? My cowl should have half yellow and half black which is separated with a 3/8 in strip of white and a 1in stripe of silver. Sounds as if I should paint the black and yellow and apply monokote matching stickers for the stripping, then covered over with clear? Thanks Jeff Is that your ultimate? if it is did you use flying wires on the tail?

fiberglass cowl Paint/monokote?
I have a fiberglass cowl for my ultimate that I am building and would like to know if it has to be painted or can I use some monokote on it? If I have to paint it would be 4 different colors all at 7-8 dollars a can. I know I am cheap but two of my colors would be just a thin 3/8 strip and another is just an inch strip. I just hate to spend the money just for those small strips. If I do paint what is involved with the prep of the cowl. Thanks Jeff

g2 swap models?
I know this program is old hack but I am too cheap to upgrade. I recently had to reinstall my g2 onto a laptop and I cant seem to find a plane that I use to have. I had an ultimate that was hopped up and had the horizon's yellow and black colors. I loved that plane but cant seem to find it. The swap page on realflight doesnt have it. Does anyone have this one or anyothers that are giant scale with a ton of engine and throws? thanks Jeff

RE: goldberg ultimate engine choice?
I do already have the 120 ys. I also have a 26cc gasser but I had it in a 1/4 scale cap and it just didnt have the power it needed to pull the heavy plane and engine around. I might be wrong but with this type of plane I wouldnt think that the gasser would have the punch it needs. After loosing the cap to a tip stall due to lack of power I would rather see a 26cc gas in a slow flying plane like a larger cub. If you know anyone who would be interested in a 26cc gasser I have a mvvs that I would sell. I installed the solid 1/4 firewall and increased the size and strength of the stringers as per harry higley's book for the added strength of the 120 ys. How much heavier is the 120 over say a .91ys? I have considered selling the 120 and picking up another engine. I have the firewall set up with blindnuts for the 120. Jeff

I think that I will go with the tail mounted servos. i have the 225s already and the matching y that I used in an edge. i take it a pull pull set-up for the rudder? since I am going with the ys I am putting the tank over the wing for better in flight balance as the fuel level lowers. Jeff
